Help I Want To Be Healthy

I want to know how to stay healthy...?

Coffee drains your body of water; for one cup of coffee, you need four glasses of water to replace the loss. (But I'm guessing you don't drink coffee since you are 13)

Tea can help prevent strokes, has fluoride which can help strengthen teeth, reduce plaque and bacteria in the mouth, and help combat deadly diseases.

When you exercise, it benefits the appearance of skin. It increases circulation, which delivers nutrients and allows for a restful sleep, which gives the skin a chance to rejuvenate.

Exercise can make the heart more resilient in times of stress. It also lowers blood pressure and increases the elasticity of blood vessels. It can help your bones remain strong and hard by absorbing minerals.

When you have a blister, dandelions can help. Squeezing the white liquid in the leaf onto the blister and covering it with a bandage can help reduce the pain and help it heal faster.

Never squeeze a blemish especially in the area of the lips to the bridge of the nose. Infection can spread to the sinus cavity and cases have been known to be fatal.

When you have leg cramps, eat a banana. The potassium in bananas has been proven to help treat leg cramps.

I need help eating healthy as a vegan?

Well, you just haven't done enough research. The solutions to your issues are all going to be found with just a Little Bit of research. And I can give you a leg up.

First thing I will suggest is a book, which is more than a little bit of research. but you don't have to read it all at once. Actually, there are two books - but they are so similar I would just suggest you get one or the other. (Check out the library - they are probably both there). The first one is "Eat To Live" and the other is "How Not To Die". both are versions of the Whole Food Plant-Based Diet (Forks over Knives). And both diet books are compatible with veganism. Basically, it's vegan without sugar and oil.

Both of these diets can be used as weight loss diets or just regular eating healthy diets.

If you have more time to listen than to read then you can really educate yourself quite nicely with Podcasts. My favorite is the" Food For Thought" podcast. There is something like 12 years of shows. Start with the oldest one and work yourself up. It's easy to listen to a podcast while driving or walking or working out. You can even listen while shopping and house cleaning. Colleen is a pleasure to listen to and one of the smartest vegan chefs out there.

Next suggestion is a good vegan cookbook or website. One of my favorites is the Minimalist Baker. It is a little overwhelming at first but it is searchable. Try searching for "7 ingredients or less" or "One Pot" to find the simplest and easiest recipes.

Last suggestion is a YouTube channel. It's called Cheap Lazy Vegan. It's a cooking show. And all the recipes are easy and cheap. Rose has a website and a cookbook. There are hundreds of recipes but she has organized them plus there is a search feature.

OH. one last suggestion. PETA has a recipe book for College Student Vegans. It is probably at your school's library and book store.

I am very thin. I want to be healthy, what should I?

Being thin doesn't automatically mean you're unhealthy! Here you can Calculate Your BMI - Standard BMI CalculatorThe BMI charts showing that at a BMI lower than 18,5 more mortality is seen is usually explained by the observation that sick people who will die more often tend to lose weight, so are on the lower BMI range:As long as you don't feel ill, are able to function well, have no bodily complains, why worry! On the other hand, if you have loose stools all the time, couldn't eat well, have abdominal complains, feel weak etc. you should see a doctor to rule out illnesses.  You could even have HIV (called "slim disease" in Uganda in the eighties) or tuberculosis, but that usually is not the way the diseases express themselves in the west.If you want to look better e.g. look more muscular, have a balanced diet and do (body building) exercises and within one hour followed by eating some protein because this will help you build your muscles.

How to get healthy????????

I have been skinny (scrawny?) all my life, swear if I didn't have a high metabolism I would be the fattest person on earth. I don't really like candy and sweets but I eat a lot of salty junk food, but I love fruits n veggies and stuff like that. I get sick constantly. I want to start trying to exercise but I loose my breath in 30 seconds flat. No lie. How can I get healthy enough that I can start being active and doing stuff like running and working out and just building up muscle?

I'm gonna go to the doctor I just wanna know your guys' opinion.

Why do you want to start living healthy?

While definitions of what living healthily is may differ, I choose to do it because for too long, I was my lowest priority. I reached a point where my health was getting worse and worse, and continuing to do the job I did, prioritising work and family over my own wellness, was no longer sustainable.I had to give up work, because I ran my own business and had nobody to replace me. And because our home came with the shop, we had to move house. So we took an active step to leave the capital and set up a new home in the beautiful surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales.Right now, living healthily for me involves resting, taking time to breathe, taking time to decide what I want to do next, eating well, and cooking from scratch. I get to do a little gardening, and I can spend hours looking at the scenery around the house. I still do some freelance consultancy work, and some voluntary work, but the balance is right and I have time to get well, do physio and generally look after myself.I'm doing it because I want to be an active mum, not just the mum in the wheelchair who can't do this or that with her child. I want to take a more physical role in our life as a family. I don't want to be in pain any more. But mostly, I want to be myself again.

How to tell if my hair is healthy or not?

I asked this the other day and haven't gotten many answers, and one of the two answers I did get clearly didn't actually read my question, so I will try again.

I recently spent nine months on blood thinners. One of the side effects was that it did shitty awful things to my hair. I am off the blood thinners now and working to improve my hair's condition.

What I want to know is how to tell if my hair is healthy, or how far along it is to being healthy? I spent so long with unhealthy damaged hair that I can no longer tell what is what up there. So what are some things I can look for to help me out here? It's a bit frizzy because it became very brittle while on the blood thinners and I have only been off them for about four months. I'm not sure how to tell what is new growth and what is breakage. Help?

Also, I need to make this clear as possible. DO NOT TELL ME WHAT VITAMINS TO TAKE. I have a medical condition, which prevents me from taking more of certain vitamins than what I would normally get out of food. I spoke to two doctors, a pharmacist, and a hair stylist and I am already taking vitamins that were designated as something I can safely take. ALL that I want to know is how to tell if my hair is healthy, I do NOT need to know what vitamins to take because I am already on vitamins. Thank you

I want to start eating healthy, where do I begin?

Hi,I had the same problem a while a go when I started a low carb diet. So I read some articles around the web and found out that planing helps a lot.It will help you to find 6–8 breakfasts/lunches/dinners that you like and alternate them. also this helps you with the groceries because you stock only for them. this way you will have diversity and you will not get bored fast. After a while you will find that it gets easier to cook these recipes and you will find interesting ways to improve them. You might even find ways to batch produce them and this will free up a lot of time.If you dont want to do groceries and still have the exeprience you can try a service like Blue Apron/Plated, and they will deliver all that you need to cook good diverse and healthy meals.Regarding the salads, they are not a necessity, but they sure help a lot. You need to eat all 3 main groups of macro nutrients(protein, fat and carbs) in a day to have a well balanced day. Now the source of these nutrients matters a lot. It is better to have carbs from whole grains and fruits, fats from avocado, virgin olive oil and seeds, and get the proteins from meat, lentils, beans, etc.Salads will help you to fix quick meals because they are easy to make, throw in some leaves that you like, some seeds, some oil, a source of protein(meat, eggs, etc.) and you have a meal in no time. It will help you when you, after a hard day’s work to have something that you like made up rel fast and without a lot of fuss. One note, watch put for store bought salad dressings, because they can really pack a punch. I saw people that were wondering why they were not losing weight because they ate only salads, but when you pour over 800 calories of dressing over a 600 calorie salad it is not so healthy anymore.Let me know if you have any other questions.
