Help Identifying A Current Cinema Video Game Advert

Is video gaming dead?

The video game industry is on the same level as the movie, music and publishing industries. Billions of dollars a year and growing. So, no, I don't think video gaming is "dead." See: http://vgsales.wikia.com/wiki/Video_game...

But is the video game market flooded with garbage? Yeah, I'd agree with that. Just as the movie, music and publishing industries are full of garbage, too. Or, at least, what I would consider garbage. But one person's trash is another person's treasure, as the saying goes. They wouldn't make it if it didn't sell.

I'm not interested in the MMO and FPS games, nor do I enjoy the side scrollers, button mashers, rogue or "retro" games. I can't stand linear games with tons of cutscenes that are basically like watching a bad movie with occasional interactive segments that are glorified versions of Pitfall.

When a video game is good, though, it's really good. One really good game is worth 10 crappy games. I try out 10-12 games a year, maybe finish 4 or 5, play the heck out of them, and don't bother with the rest.

With your current Internet provider and favorite commercial video vendor (Amazon, Apple, Netflix, Hulu, etc), how long does it take to download a local copy of a two hour HD film — roughly 1.5GB to 2GB typical compressed size?

Depends on how many seeders and leechers are uploading parts of the same film at the same time. With 100mbps, one could get it in under 10 minutes. Seeders and leechers from Europe are often slower than American cable IP speeds. The speed of your own internet connection matters too. Oh, wait a minute…, vendors, what vendors. Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, etc. have so little that is worthwhile to watch., that is, if you have taste, which most don’t. You’re better off to just go after single programs or miniseries on the pirate bay. You can often get miniseries going in Europe that aren’t even in the US yet. If they don’t play, they may be in Pal or Secam video format. Just handbrake them into mp4s, avis, .vobs,, mkvs, to another format in your computer and they will be converted to Universal Mac/PC video standards observed around the world. If you don’t have a dvd player that plays them, or a USB in slot in your 1080 set that plays them, you can typically play them out of your computer over an HDMI cord to your set to watch them. Answering the straight arrow part of your comment: With 100 MBPS cable company digital link, almost any film will be down in under 10 minutes. If you need subtitles to understand purloined movie tv files, copy and paste the formal file name of the file you’re trying to get down, with the words “english subtitles” written after it.

What’s an example of the “uncanny Valley” problem in current video games?

Mass Effect Andromeda, it suffered heavily. The characters tried to emulate human facial motion without knowing the ingredients, they looked human enough untill they started talking, then they looked so unhuman it broke the immersion. What also didn't help was the frankly badly written conversations, such as the infamous “sorry, my face is tired" which while something someone would say, would most likely be said by someone that doesn't natively speak english. English speakers would instead talk about headaches or being tired.I like to think of the uncanny valley as being 2 parts face and 1 part behaviour, if they look human, they can be brought down by horribly written behaviour and vice versa, people will not feel comfortable with a bad looking character staring at them while speaking with well written lines. It can get creepy or just toss immersion to the side.We can make human characters that look and feel human, it takes a lot of effort and a lot of time, but it works. Like in Detroit: Become Human, they got around mildly off behaviour by having most characters be androids. People are more likely to believe the off behaviour as being part of the universe and not just bad game design.

Current movie or game trailer that has soft piano music playing during trailer?

I was on youtube last night and I went to go watch a video and there was a short advertisement trailer for a game or a movie and there was really soft piano music playing during the entire trailer unfortunately I could not see the video or the name of the movie or game being advertised because my computer froze and I could not get my mouse to work so all I could do was listen to the music, I know its a pretty rough question with very little info but just curious to see if any one has seen any recent movie or game trailers on youtube in the past couple of days that has soft piano music playing during the trailer thanks!!!

Is downloading torrent in India illegal?

it depends what you are downloading... if you are downloading a Hollywood movie or something from India you are not going to get in trouble, but if you are getting a Bollywood movie you might be doing something illegal

it really does not matter as long as you do not upload because ISP's hate it when users upload with torrents, but then again if people don't upload then nobody will ever seed torrents

What will video commercials be like in the future?

IMHO there will be three main differences:Shorter ads: The willingness to watch a 30 second ad is close to zero. If you want to watch a short 1 min video in your Facebook app stream, think of 5–10 second ads (basically the time it takes to find the close button). The attention span has decreased dramatically so video ads need to reflect that.To the point: As people might skip the ad, the ad’s message will be at the beginning (you could argue that a 5–10 second ad does not really have a beginning and end). There will also be a clearer call to action of what people can do if they decide to interact (nowadays you usually see a URL at the end of the commercial).Personalized: The ‘one size fits all’ commercial with huge production costs will slowly fade away. We will see different versions of an ad that cater to the person’s interest watching the ad. Today, we know who is watching the ad (thanks to your web profile or your STB data), we know the person’s interests, and we can build multiple versions of an ad without bloating up production costs (thanks to VR and other smart computer programs). Here’s an example of an ad that had 120 different versions and won the European Performance Marketing Award. These three points will help to increase ROI as video ad budgets will increasingly be compared to other ad formats.
