Help Im Really Worried About My Cat

My cat has been acting strangely? I'm really worried that he might be sick. How can I tell if my kitten is ok?

I would say contact the vet immediately. The behaviour doesn’t sound right. You don’t give enough details for anyone to give a definitive answer but kittens can become very ill and die very quickly, so even if you’re in the UK where it’s currently 10.10pm, I’d advise you to phone the vet’s out of hours number and not wait until morning. If you don’t have it, they usually leave it on a recording on their regular number or have a redirection service.

My cat ate some string and im worried?

so earlier on i was in the kitchen cooking some beef, i was cutting the string (the stuff butchers use to roll meat up with) off it, and my cat ate it, i picked her up to try and get it out of her mouth, but rather than give it up, she swollowed it. i am worried that it may hurt her, as i know things like that can wrap around intestines and stomach. but i also know cats are really good at digesting things.

Cat acting strange i am worried ?

Having a territory of their own means a lot to a cat. It's the source of all the things they need to survive, and some of them can become very upset at the thought of losing it to an intruder.

It's a good idea to confine the kitten to a separate room and introduce them to each other slowly and carefully. This way your cat is reassured that they are still in control of their territory. The link below has helpful step by step advice on how to introduce cats.

If you're worried that your cat may wander off, it's worth trying to keep him inside for a week or two whilst you slowly get him used to the kitten. Make an extra special fuss of your older cat to reassure him that he's still a much loved family member and that the kitten is not his replacement.

Don't be tempted to punish him if he has a hostile reaction to the kitten. This will only make him feel resentful towards the kitten. It's better to reward him with his favourite food treats or lots of praise when he is calm around him. Keep doing this and he will begin to associate the kitten's arrival with good things, and therefore, someone worth having around. Be patient, as it can take anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months for a new cat to be accepted, it all depends upon the personalities of the individuals involved.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
