80's Prom Fashion Help! Do you know 80's fashion?
For classic 80's look, you need your pantyhose to shine. Hanes Alive are a good choice, although recently, the ones I have purchased in control top haven't had as much. Buy Hanes Alive in sheer to waist style. I've never had a pair of those not be shiny at all. You're guaranteed to get a nice healthy shine with L'eggs Sheer Energy Active Support. (red box) Or splurge and go to Shapings.com and buy some Cecilia de Rafael Granate 40 or Glamour Ginestra 70.
GUYS: What are some makeup/hair/fashion trends that you LOVE/HATE?
I'm generally cool with whatever a girl chooses. Two exceptions: 1) Don't dress like a PROSTITUTE!!! You can be totally sexy AND classy. 2) Seriously, WTF is up with DUCKFACE?! Making duck lips is NOT sexy. You look friggin' RIDICULOUS! Sorry, kinda venting there, but those are really the only things girls do that I just can't stand.
I love makeup, but people hate me for it. Help?
I love makeup. Something about it. I don't like it because I feel 'I'm not pretty without it' or anything. I just have a passion for it. The way you can take colors and make something beautiful out of it. The way you can take inspiration from anything and put it on someone's face for everyone to see. The way every brush does something different. So I just love it. I crave it. Most people my age (14) are into sports or playing an instrument. They spend their time out socializing with friends. I mean, I have some friends, and I love hanging out with them, but makeup just seems to be my number one priority. I know to a lot of you, this probably sounds stupid, but whatever. I'm not the type that stops doing something I love because other people don't like it, but it's really starting to get to me. A numerous amount of the people I know hate the fact that I wear makeup. They just really dislike it. I do not understand why. It's my face. I mean, I can do what I want with it. I buy all my own makeup (which is quite much). I work for my money. And pretty much every ounce I get goes towards makeup. I love the fact that I don't depend on someone to do this. It makes me love it so much more. My dad has no problem with it (I am aware a lot of parents do not like it), and my mom never had a problem with it either (she died recently). So I'm not really doing anything wrong, right? Well, people are saying 'I'm pathetic' for spending my money and time on it. I get tons of comments in school about 'You have to wear makeup because you are ugly without it'. I do not believe I am ugly. I am not going to let anyone tell me I am something I feel I am not. I get people saying 'you're stupid, so you need makeup.' I don't think I am stupid. I don't need anything to potentially 'fall back on'. My studies and school work always comes first (I get fairly good grades). However, makeup comes right after, before friends. I just love it. It's my passion. I know it's not really something I can compete in and I can't really call it a hobby, but I really enjoy it. So recently I realized that I do not have many friends anymore, and it is due to the fact that I wear makeup. I don't understand why people care. Would you care if your friend wore makeup and loved it? What should I do about this (I wont give it up)? Thanks!(:
What shoes, accessories, makeup, etc., should I wear with a dress for prom?
Oh boy, this is a very hard question because the answers can never be put into specifications. But I will advise you to:Avoid looking like a geek - avoid glasses.Avoid dark/punk rock/emo styles. Avoid black lipsticks and black nail polish.Tie your hair. Even a little braid is fine. Even tie a small section/strands is fine. Don’t let yourself look crown-less no matter how soft and healthy your hair look. You let it loose, you look like you’re going to the streets.Dresses are always go-to trends for proms. For me, it’s compulsory.Shoes? Anything that looks feminine or elegant. Heels are the best but if you are not fine wearing it, wedges and ankle boots are cool too. No sneakers please. You are not going to an auction or a classy celebrations for the rich, there’s no need for an abundance of jewelry or accessories. It’s prom. You wanna look young and carefree, not a married classy businesswoman.I guess that’s about it.
Fashion trends you hate and love...?
At your school & fashion in general, what trends do you love and which do you hate??? You can also do hair/makeup trends too! I wanna know your opinion! Go ahead and rant :)
Prom dress and jewelry and hair help please!!!!?
Hi! What cute outfits you have arranged! Well I would definately wear gold because that seems to be the theme going throughout all of these pieces. As far as hairstyles, it's tough not knowing the length of your hair or it's type, but I would say curling it with some loose curls would give it a fun, playful and elegant look. If you do wear it up, wear a fun butterfly or flower clip to dress up the outfit. If you would like some expert advice, I would go to: www.promadvice.com! It's a great web site ran by FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising so they are experts in fashion and are on hand to answer any questions you may have! Hope this helps :)
Has church become a fashion show to dress and impress members of the congregation?
At my church it sure seems like it at times. I go to a big church where people dress to impress. You should see the first lady always glitz out in diamond studded shoes, beautiful dresses, gorgeous makeup/hair, and designer bags like Louis Vuitton. I'm not hating on her or anyone else because I like to dress up too, but sometimes I just want to dress down and be normal. LOL! I thought church was the only place other than my house that i could come as I truly am without all the glitz and glamor. Now I find myself dressing up 24/7 to not only meet the worlds standards of attractiveness but my church's standard as well. The men dress up too so it's not like it's just the women. Is church becoming a fashion show?
Fashion Help Please! 13 year old need to dress to impress. Going to a model interview. What should she wear. Makeup ideas?? Thank you!?
DON'T DRESS UP DRESS MINIMALIST. fresh face make up that plays up your features. a plain white teeshurt that hugs your figure and jeans that do the same wear heels as shoes though if you wany to dress it up go for a blazer and wear a confident smile. You want to show that you don't need all of the glamour and make up to be stunning.
