I'm crying so much right now. i'm so terrible at math, someone help?

alright, so this whole weekend i've been packed with homework and assignments and test i have to study for. i've been doing work non stop. i have a math test tomorrow and i honestly have no clue what i'm doing. I do homework, take notes, ask questions etc but i was just born to be bad at math. you know how some people are gifted in math? i'm pretty much the opposite. Not matter how hard i try i always get 50's while everyone else in my class is getting 90's. I'm in 10th grade btw, and my teacher is one of those people who thinks we should already know the material. He barely explains anything, all we do in class is assigned textbook questions. Everyone in my class is so good at math, and i'm just here nearly failing.
i dont know what to do. i have a test tomorrow and i don't know anything. my parents arent able to explain this and i cant contact a tutor right now. what can i do? i was thinking of staying at home because i'm pretty sure i'm going to get 0%.
im not a slacker, i have goals. i try my best but nothing works. I'm good at every other subject except for math. what can i do right now? should i stay at home tomorrow? please help, i'm to the point where i'm crying myself to sleep because i'm afraid of failing

Am I stupid because I'm terrible at Math?

I've always possessed a horrible Math phobia. I become unbelievably nervous when I deal with any Math problem, or even hear people discussing Math. I feel extremely inadequate and my self esteem gets worse every year because I feel that my inability to do Math makes me a stupid person. I've heard that there is usually a correlation between high English scores and high Math scores on the SAT/ACT, but mine seem to be inversely proportional! My English/Reading scores are in the 99th percentile, but my Math is just barely average. I feel terrible about myself! My dream is to acquire a profession in the field of Medicine, and I perform extremely well in the Biological sciences. However, when I have to do Math, like in Physics, I struggle! It's not that I cannot understand the concepts, I just simply cannot remember how to do Math. I'll solve a problem and understand it just fine one day, but two days later I'll forget how I did it, etc. I can't retain Mathematical information! What is wrong with me!? Am I stupid?

Cashier job but bad at math help !!!?

Usually the machines do the calculations for you, however, you should learn to count change "up" to the customer. that means you start at the amount of the bill and "count up" to the amount they handed you to pay for the bill.

Example...
The bill comes to $17.34 and the customer gives you a Twenty dollar bill...

So, you start at the $17.34 and start pulling the change from the cash drawer...one penny makes $17.35, another nickel brings it to $17.40, a dime to $17.50, two quarters to $18.00, two more dollars is $20.00. Bingo, there's the change you give back to the customer! $2.66

You'll do fine if you learn that one simple trick. Try practicing at home with some spare change.

Why are so many high school maths teachers terrible at their job?

I had a colleague tell me he wanted a Math teacher who was poor at Math in High School. What? Why?His reasoning was that a person who had to struggle to learn Math would be in a better position to teach students since he or she knew where the learning blocks were. Hence, they would be able to guide students over the rough spots because they had the same experience. When I was in college getting my Education degree there were students in class who were going to be Math teachers. Most of them were proficient in the subject: Math, not Education. They were good at Math in grade school, middle school, and high school and college despite the proficiency of their teacher. They, for the most part, had a natural ability to understand Math concepts. After graduating college with a degree in education they become Math teachers with no practical experience of applying Math to a real life situation.I have spoken to Math teachers and have gotten some reluctant agreement.Allow me to differentiate between Math and Arithmetic. Everyone needs an understanding of Arithmetic in daily life. Arithmetic is memorization of number tables and the ability to comprehend the result. Math has little practical value to most people and Math teachers usually have a difficult time grasping why the average student doesn't care what the value of x is.Please forgive the generalization, since I realize there are some excellent Math teachers who are able to relate to students and guide them to a career where Math is necessary. But for most careers Algebra, Calculus and Trigonmetry are a stressful waste of time.

I can't do basic math and I feel so bad please help?

Hi. I'm 22 and I can't do basic math. I'm terrible at word problems which I opt to not figure out. I'm terrible at percentages, and if someone asked me what is 856+753 I can't do it in my head I have to write it down. I count on my fingers alot. Because of my problem with doing basic math I had a mental breakdown in college when they wanted me to do advanced mathematics. Algebra was fine, but I did terrible in my other math courses. My parents don't even know I can't do basic math. They think i'm so smart since I passed high school with a 4.2 gpa. I feel like something is wrong with my brain. I like the fields of teaching, nursing, and psychology but I'm already in the education program and my grades were not good.I barely passed. I always dreamed of having a excellent paying job since my parents are middle class. I'm a very nice person. I'm crying please help!

I am 20 and Im so bad at mental and written math. Can I learn mathematics from scratch again, or is it too late? If yes, where do I start In maths?

Yes, I agree with everyone not simply because "you should always believe in yourself" or some positive, can-do slogan like that.Rather, I think because math (when taught right) can be one of the most practical, useful, and career improving/productivity improving skills on the planet. As a starting point, I would express concerns to a seasoned math teacher or college counselor.  Many local high schools will still help people from the street, or refer them to resources that can.As far as curriculum goes, at least in the US, I would start with GED curriculum.  The GED was designed as a high school equivalency test that measured knowledge and skills in English literacy, math, science, and social studies.Even international students could benefit from the geometry, algebra 2, etc.3.  There are plenty of community colleges and adult centers that help people exactly in your situation.4.  A key weapon in learning mathematics, or any skill for that matter, is daily, deliberate practice, much preferably with a knowledgeable/nurturing expert.  As an education researcher and speaking with many minds, I have found this is true both for the layperson and the Olympic athlete, against any domain I have found.  Cf. research by K. Anders Ericsson to see it.5.  Of course, I'd be happy to mentor you at bj80klunder@outlook [dot] com.  I did do some work with GED prep, and started up http://BasicEdHelp.org as a way to do that.  I could also send some websites people have found puts the "joy" back into mathematics.
