Help Me Answer These Questions Thank You

Can you help me answer these questions.....Only if you have read Angela's Ashes? Thank You?

1. Frank's father is an alchoholic, and although he drinks to dull the pain from the death of his young children, Frank McCourt emphasises his father's drinking as an illness, and therefore something he cannot help. He also makes sure the reader sees the softer side of his character - the time spent drinking tea in front of the fire and telling stories.

2. There is little resentment or bitterness in these memoirs. I think this is because Frank McCourt is able to distance himself from the story by using the voice of himself as a young boy who simply reports on events without forming opinions. The adult writer is then able to offer a deeper and more adult perspective - he can view his father from a distance. He can perhaps appreciate that his father's gift for storytelling has lead to him being able to write his memoirs.

3. Although Malachy does not provide for his family, he is able to give Frank one very important thing: a story. Frank has inherited his father's storytelling gifts which redeems the pain of his childhood.

Can you please help me answer these questions about James Naismith?

It's hard to answer all these questions without first starting with Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Naismith

Questions that might not be answered in Wikipedia are the best I can do. Like, "how is basketball in the past different from basketball in the present?" Basketball used to be played in a mesh cage, and the number of players was as many as 13 on a side rather that 5. Rules of basketball have changed many, many times since the beginning (just last year the offensive side had 10 seconds to get the ball over mid-court; now it is 8 seconds.)

"Why is basketball so popular today" - You can play it at any age, and the equipment is everywhere. The ball is big and easy to follow on TV, as opposed to a hockey puck, say.

"How has basketball influenced the people" - It became a popular game to play because you can play it alone, or with any number of people. Watching basketball on TV is exciting. It has become a world-wide sport.

"Why do we still remember James Naismith?" - Most games have unknown inventors; Naismith is well-known for inventing the game from scratch.

Hope I've helped.

When someone answers my Quora question, should I thank them, or upvote?

If they answered the question in a helpful way, upvote.Upvote if you learned something.Upvote if you think others should see the answer.Upvote if the answer helped in any way.Thanking is nice, but mostly unnecessary. You are free to thank or not. Some people think it's nice (I'm one of them) and some people don't even notice thanks.I understand the concern about accuracy. But you can always take back your upvote later if it turns out to be incorrect. Plus, once you have an answer you can research it to see if it's accurate. Bad answers will quickly accumulate downvotes and comments, or even reports.Caution is good, but it shouldn't keep you from ever acting at all. So, I encourage you to upvote any and all answers as you wish.

Do you thank people for answering your questions on Quora?

Do we have to thank you for every answer we receive from Quora users? No, Quora is a question and answer site. Its whole existence revolves around the spread of knowledge from those who know and have answers, to those who want to know and have questions. If a question is asked, and you don’t know the answer, just pass on it - you don’t have any sort of responsibility to answer if you don’t know. Similarly, if several answers are written for a question, and you have first hand knowledge that you believe would add some further value, then you should write your own answer, rather than just add comments to other people’s answers. If someone has been particularly helpful with their answer to “your” question, then you can either:Upvote their answerThank themor both - but there is no compunction that you “must” do any of these. It’s a bit like going to work - your employer has to pay you for the work you do, but he doesn’t need to thank you for coming in every day…Although sometimes, it’s nice when he does, and lets you know he appreciates your work…:-D

What is the best answer for the question "who are you"?

Here are a few of my suggestions:I'm me.I'm a person.John Smith. My name is A, I come from B, I live in C, I work as a D and I like E.I'm A from accounting. We talked on the phone just now. You said you wanted to see me.I'll spare you the story.Long story short I'm born, live 37 years, wake up, get dressed, eat breakfast, go to work and meet you."You" is a pronoun in English that is used to refer to people in the second person, i.e. the person that is being addressed, as opposed to the person speaking or someone who is not partaking in the conversation.Just some guy.I didn't catch that. You tell me.I don't know.I don't want to tell you.I'm the kind of person who doesn't answer those kinds of questions. What do you want to know? Why do you want to know?Who are you?Don't you know who I am?!I beg your pardon? I'm X!I'm ... eh ... I'm sorry. I didn't ... I didn't see you there. My bad. *walk away awkwardly*I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.I'm your father, Luke. *mandatory mechanical respiration noises*Excuse me. *draw a gun, hold your hand to an earpiece, put on a pair of sunglasses and starting chasing a random stranger*You are under arrest. If you do not have a lawyer, you will be given one. You have the right to speak. Everything you say may be used against you in a court of law. *handcuff them*

Am I supposed to thank people who answer my question on Quora, and if so, how?

Highly recommend you thank people who answered your question. How? Upvote their answer, write a comment and add your thank you there. Why?I receive lots of A2A daily. I cannot answer them all. I choose carefully which request I will respond to.I will go to the OP's profile to gain a perspective of what is prompting the OP to ask a question.I look carefully at the past questions the OP has asked, and whether the OP has the habit of taking time to upvote the answers and also writes comments. If there are no upvotes, no comments, no message of thanks, I will pass and not answer the question. My answers are written to help the OP specifically. I take time to understand what could be of most help. I don't flip out generic answers. So, the OP's feedback is important - is my answer helpful? If not, what further information do you need that I can provide? The OP's "thank you" counts with me.Why? It acknowledges the care people put in to help the OP.
