Help Me Choose My Carrier

Does a Navy Nuke get to choose carrier vs. sub?

My son is a nuke ET he just graduated prototype. He was a sub volunteer and volunteered for an attack sub and got it. Immediately after the graduation ceremony they get 30 days leave and then report to the boat. They might go on a 6 month deployment as soon as they arrive. If you are talking about yourself and are female enlisted you cannot do submarines. It is possible to be assigned to a ship or sub that is in the shipyard or is being decommisioned then you do not go to sea. On a submarine you sleep in barracks when the sub is not underway. Good luck.

What is the best proven way to choose a career?

How do you define the right career for yourself? The career, which you like, may not be good for someone else due to liking, family situation or any other personal factor and the right career for others may not be good for you. Therefore, this is very subjective and personal choice. Since you have not mentioned - what you have done or doing, I have limitation in answering. This is common problem everyone faces at some stage. Here is a simple process you should follow to find out a right career path for yourself:List out your career choices - you may list a large number - list all of them in first attempt. Then find out more information & take a decision on each of them. If required take help of your friend, family members, teachers or any other senior person you have access to. Understand each option and start reducing your list based on your own criteria, information and choice.Contact any career counselor or any other person or site to take personality assessment test to find your personality traits. This will help you matching your personality traits and interest with your choice. This personality test gives you opportunity to identify your own good & not so good personality traits, which you can work on, which will help you all through you life. If you wish you can visit our site - www.career-pathfinder.in. Or call on 9810160749.Never go for any other intelligence or assessment tests, as these are very misleading. You can also add any career choice during this process, which you have missed or didn’t like it in your first selection or have come to know about it now.I am sure you will end-up very soon with 2 or 3 choices. Then it will be easy for you to narrow down your final career path.Consider the full profile of a career path or job or profession - not just subject/course or few aspects of a job profile, such as - a well-dressed Army or police officer impresses many of us. Don’t give undue weightage to earnings in this career selection process. The right career will give you more better life, peace, pleasure and everything including money. In case if you are confused in last two or three choices, then gather more information on each of them and then take a final view. Don’t worry this a very common & normal scenario.Don't go by just advice & suggestions, but listen to every suggestion, however consider your choice first based on your advantage or limitations.Hope this helps.

Flag Carrier Navy Bootcamp?

I believe they are chosen at random from those who performed well in boot camp. My Navy son wanted to carry his CALIF. flag but was told he was "too tall" for the order on which they are presented in formation, so he carried the Florida flag. He was honored either way!
