Help Me Find Out What This Old Ps2 Game Is

Will FYE take old PS2 games?

Most FYE stores don't take video games anymore, and GameStop has pretty much stopped giving any kind of money for older system games. Your best bet would be to sell online.

But to answer your question, go online and find your nearest FYE and call them to see if they would take it and how much (roughly) they would give for the games.

Need help figuring out an old Ps2 game?

Was it one of the Klonoa games?

Is it better to play old game systems such as the NES and the PS2 on an old CRT TV? What are the issues with using composite cables on these systems on an HDTV, and what are the ways to fix it?

I wouldn't say better, but you have likely now gotten use to HDTV and high-res games, so it is very likely to look worse, when it is the same. I currently have an Atari XL , an Atari 2600, a NES, SNES, N64, PS2, PS3, a game cube, and the PC's video output for the old PC serving as the “server" through an APE cable to the Atari XL, all connected to a 72” HD DLP Samsung. The systems are attached through through various connections, the old t.v./computer switch, RCA, Svideo, composite, VGA, and HDMI. Most go through a switch box with ports for RCA and S-video then that output goes into a tuner. FYI I also have extension cables so l can play far enough back from the screen so I'm not commenting on just being a foot from the screen.I don't think any of them would look better on a CRT. However, I do notice how pixelated Goldeneye gets on a 72″ screen, I never saw it expanded that big in the past, but if I had a 72″ CRT, I'd expect to to look the same, maybe even fuzzier. It is awesome to play old games, but I'm quickly reminded how hard they were. Just a quick run and a Mario slide under the rock in level 1–2, is tricky for me now.It took a while to get it all set up, but it is surreal to play 4 player Combat, on a 2600, on a 72″ screen. It always makes me smile.

PS2 Game freezes at the same spot when loading...?

last night i decided to go turn on my old PS2 fat and play my favorite game, Shadow of the Colossus. its been a long time since i felt the urge to finish the this game again so i was really excited. anyway, when the game loaded it didnt show any problems. i even watched the opening scene. it only freezes whenever i try to load a game :(. if youve played shadow of the collosus youll know that when your loading a game, the game shows the entire map and slowly zooms in to where you last saved the game. but in my case, whnever it goes to zoom in it suddenly freezes:(
the disk is literally unscratched, and i wiped the entire disc but it still freezes up? and i know its not the PS2 cause other games are working...

Can anyone identify this old PS2 game? (could have been on other consoles)?

that sounds like syphon filter 1 or 2
what clinched it for me was the tazer weapon
because what you described is EXACTLY how its used in syphon filter

syphon filter 1 2 and 3 are ps 1 games but there is a ps 2 sequel

Why won't my ps3 play ps2 games?

First of all, only PS3s with 4 USB ports on the front will play PS2 games. The 120 GB IS NOT backward compatible, so I hope that 80 GB you are referring to is the old one and not the most recent one that was replaced by that 120 Slim.

Second, none of the backward compatible PS3s had 100% PS2 compatibility. The 20 and 60 models were around 95%-98% compatbile, which means there are about 30 PS2 games give or take that will not play on this console (out of about 1800 games that are in the PS2 library).

The first 80 GB emulated the Emotion Engine instead of having the actual chip. This REDUCES compatibility to about 80% or so. That means there are about 300 PS2 games give or take that won't work, and this likely includes the games that don't work with the 20 and 60.

No, there is no PS3 that will play "any old game." That's why everyone says to stick with the PS2. Its the only console that will play ALL PS2 games without problems.
