What s the name of this Asian Pop song with the cat ears dance?
I saw a music video sometime in the last year by some Asian girl band. (I don t remember if it was Japanese, Korean, or something else.) It was pretty popular as I saw it on a couple different sites not related to Asian pop music... the dance was the most significant thing about it. The girls would make cat ear and paw type movements with their hands. The background of the video was multicolored bars... sometimes showing only one color/girl. There might have been some English words in the song, don t remember. I think it went viral. I know this is pretty vague, but maybe it rings a bell to somebody.

Why don’t you like pop songs?
I don’t like pop songs because they lack substance and have no staying power. Most have no original style to speak of. They are too synthesised. Someday sooner or later, probably sooner, they will be written by AI and performed by robots.

I’m a Filipino but I’m a big fan of Turkish music. Why?Filipino music nowadays is heavily monotonous, if they’re not re-re-re-recycled cover songs of music from the 1970s and 80s filled with jejemon-ized rap lyrics (the jejemon are a low brow hip hop-based subculture, generally used as a derogatory term like hipsters). They were great in the 70’s up to the 90’s though, especially with the songs of Eraserheads, Francis M., Andrew E., Asin, Rodel Naval, Hagibis, Juan dela Cruz Band, among others.Since 2016, after getting tired with pop songs like those of The Chainsmokers, I got myself into Turkish pop songs out of curiosity. When I first listened to the tracks of Gülsen, Simge and Demet Akalın, I was like “Holy shit! Why didn’t I discovered about these before? This is real good shit!”My favorite part of Turkish songs are the energy and the ethnic vibe. Although I don’t understand anything, upbeat Turkish songs made me sway out of nowhere when I’m alone in a room. Maybe my appreciation of Turkish music would slightly go lower if I already learned enough Turkish vocabulary to understand its lyrics.
