Help Me How Do I Get Someone Who Can Help Me In My Education College In Terms Of Financial Issues

Financial Aid Disqualification Appeal Letter, can someone please proof read it?

I think it is a good letter. You take responsibility and show the situation without drama.

I would tidy up this sentence though:

My goal is to become a child psychiatrist, and to be there for children who need someone to talk to, and to help them with their personal problems, and with my part-time job, I cannot afford to go to school on my own.

---> My goal is to become a child psychiatrist so that I can talk with children that need help with their problems. In order to go to school I have a part-time job and without financial aid I am currently unable to reach my educational goals.

Is a college education worth the money?

My dad is convinced that a college education is the answer to all of my financial problems. Most of my friends have college degrees but they are miserable because they are drowning in student loan debt. They had to settle for low-paying jobs that are completely unrelated to their field of study because the job market is so dried up right now. At this rate it will take them YEARS to pay off their student loan debt.

I recently opened my own eBay store. My store doesn't earn a lot of money (yet) but I am quickly learning the ins and outs of the business. Owning my own business has been a dream of mine ever since I was six years old. All of the educational resources I need to start a business are available for free on the internet. I don't see why it's necessary for someone like me to spend $100,000 on a college education.

My dad thinks I am being naive. I think my dad doesn't understand how much times have changed. A college education isn't worth as much as it used to be. This is merely my opinion, but it's based on my friends' real life experiences.

What is your opinion?

Why is it so hard to get financial aid for college?

I don't get this. It's hard to be middle class and be able to obtain financial aid. A kid who has a mother who stays home all day doing nothing but house work has a higher chance of getting financial aid than a kid who has two hard working parents. The hard working parents even have to pay taxes, which the government uses to put the other kid through college.

My parents fall the the second category. I'm a junior in highschool and I'm worried as heck about college. My parents and the rest of my family (extended) want me to attend a prestigious private college like NYU. I told them that it's too expensive and I want to attend a State University in NY (i'm a New Yorker), Then I was criticized and my family told me that I can always pay back the money later after I earn it.

I don't believe in spending too much money that we don't have. There is no promise that I would be able to make back the money to pay the banks. Isn't that how every single depression and recession came about? I don't want to be a indentured servant for the banks.

Sometimes, I wish I came from a poor family. My parents worked their way up from nothing. Now they have to pay for some other kid's higher education because they were successful.

What do you guys think?

Help W/ Time Value in Finance Problems?

I am trying to learn how to use this new financial calculator like my teacher wants us to use, but I am have difficulty solving these practice exam questions which will become my study guide for the mid-term.

1) Assume the total cost of a college education will be $320,000 when your child enters college in 18 years. You presently have $50,000 to invest. What annual rate of interest must you earn on your investment to cover the cost of your child's college education?

2) At 7 percent interest, how long does it take to double your money? and to quadruple it?

3) You have just received notification that you have won the $2 million first prize in the Centennial Lottery. However, the prize will be awarded on your 100th birthday (assuming you're around to collect), 80 years from now. What is the present value of your windfall if the appropriate discount rate is 9 percent?

4) Your coin collection contains 50 1952 silver dollar. If your grandparents purchase them for their face value when they are were new, how much will your collect be worth when you retire in 2062, assuming they appreciate at a 5.7 percent annual rate?

5)First City Bank pays 7 percent simple interest on its savings account balances, whereas Second City Bank pays 8 percent interest compounded annually. If you made an $8,000 deposit in each bank, how much more money would you earn form your Second City Bank account at the end of 10 years?

How does the lack of education cause poverty?

Poverty Is the biggest enemy of education on every level. Poor students fall victim to health issues and lifestyle that hinder their ability to study or learn.Education can help in eradication of poverty, those in poverty can only be benefit from education. Right education can lift people from poverty and can also improve their health issues, financial crisis, it can change their lives. It is the fact that poverty is both cause and effect of lack of access to education.Lack of education causes many issues such as:Poor health or nutrition deficiency is seen among people due to illiteracy.Lack of education causes gender inequality.lack of skilled labor and less productivity is seen.Lack of opportunity as people are ignorant. Hence lifestyle is low. These are some problems faced by the poors, as their common characterstics include - Nutritional deficiency, low standard of living, large size of family, unemployment.“Education is not a way to escape poverty,it is a way to fight it” - J. NyerereI believe, it is not easy to explain the relation between poverty and education, yet I tried my best.Thank you.

Financial Aid Appeal form! Proof read?

1- being "depressed" is not justification for having your financial aid returned.
2- they are not going to call those doctors, as (by law) those doctors are not going to tell anyone any information relative to your treatment.
3- just receiving or seeking treatment is not justification for having your financial aid returned.
4- if you had been hospitalized (complete with hospital records), you could have a reasonable excuse for what happened (possibly) -- but to have one's financial aid appeal approved it's got to be a serious medical condition and you do not have one.
5- the fact remains that you abused the financial aid system, and continued to do so once you were placed on probation, and now you can not have it returned until you fulfill the terms of your suspension. you're no longer eligible.

Withdrawal after first week of college would make me a transfer student or freshman when applying next year?

If you withdraw now you will not have any classes to transfer anywhere else, so you would not be a transfer student. You would be a freshman at the next university you would apply to.
Check with your university that you are attending now; it may be too late to withdraw and get any money back. Most schools do not give you a refund if you have passed a certain date in the semester. If you are going to have to lose your money if you withdraw, my suggestion would be to stick it out for a term and do as well as you can in the courses you are taking. I know your mom is probably stressed about money, but it won't do you or her any good to withdraw and blow all the money you've already paid for this term. If you can stick it out this semester, you and your mom can sit down and talk about financial issues, say at Thanksgiving break, and you can make the decision then about whether to return for the following semester. And you will have at least the credits you earned this term to transfer to another school. I am sure you are worried about your mom, but in reality YOU worrying does not help the situation. Go to the financial aid office and explain your situation and see if they can recommend additional resources or work-study jobs. Check with the placement office to see if they have information on part-time jobs that you might take in the local community. You could take some of the burden off your mom that way and not have to give up your education. Realistically, you would be entering the workforce with relatively few skills and would probably have to take an entry-level, low-paid job. Think carefully about whether you want to leave school to take a job that probably will not add all that much to your family's financial resources.
