Help Me I Want To Cut Specific Area Map From Google Map

Why is the map of India shown on Google Maps different from what it actually is?

Because, that is the reality. What each country calls as their map is a figment of imagination. A lot of major countries claim lands that they don't control. China claims Arunachal Pradesh and Pakistan claims the whole of Kashmir (except areas controlled or claimed by China). India claims both. The question really is what parts of those regions these countries control. Can China control Arunachal Pradesh? No. Can India control Aksai Chin? No. Can Pakistan control Indian part of Jammu & Kashmir? No. When these three countries have nuclear weapons, is there any reasonable way to change borders from here on? No.Then why do these countries show it in their map? To please the hardcore nationalists at their home.Indian leaders however are already clearer in accepting the current map as the reality. The problem is that China and Pakistan are not arguably accepting the reality now. From what I have read, Indian leaders would be open to giving up its claim for Pakistan's Kashmir in return for Pakistan giving up its claim of India's J&K. In the same way, Indian leaders would be open to India giving up Aksai Chin while having China give up claim over Arunachal. This is why India doesn't protest much about maps without PoK and Aksai Chin. As long as the maps show Arunachal and Jammu Kashmir firmly as parts of India, that is one India desires. Because, that is the reality. The rest is mere fiction.

How can I copy and print large high resolution maps using Google Earth or any other tool to create a wall-sized map?

I caution that is most likely expressly forbidden by Google, but for curiosity’s sake you could use this embed trick do create large images:Navigate to the center of the area you wish to print, and zoom to the desired levelFrom the side menu chose “Share or Embed”. Click “Embed”. Within that line of code find the dimensions of the iFrame code and change them to something ridiculous e.g. 6000 x 45003. Copy that code into the body of new html file4. Open that file in Chrome5. Use a full page screen capture tool (I think there is one by that same name, not an endorsement) to save that image.6. My demo file came out at 12016 × 9032px and 174mb, which should be more than enough. If not, make those original dimensions bigger.

What is a "restricted usage road" on Google Maps?

Could be: no trucks over a certain weight, no commercial vehicles, only 4 wheel drive vehicles, closed during the winter (well, not so likely in SC, I suppose), or .....

But, here's an idea: You are staying at a friend's house, so.... why don't you call or e-mail your friend and ask them? Since they actually live there, they should know exactly what that means.

How did people travel in the US before mapquest, google maps and yahoo maps?

We grabbed an atlas and planned the trip as best we could before we left. Some of us would even check out an alternate route, just in case we found out that the first route wasn't the best idea.

You had to buy updated atlases every year, though, because a zone that wasn't under construction when you bought the first atlas might be later. Or a highway that was still being built when you had the first atlas might be finished.

But some people will still use an atlas. When one of my brothers drove an 18-wheeler just a couple of years ago, he had an atlas because he hadn't worked long enough to save up the money for a GPS unit. GPS is more convenient because of the spoken, turn-by-turn directions, sure...but it's enitrely possible to travel without the thing and still reach your destination without any problems.
