Help Me Identify This Plant And Any Advice Thank You

What apps identify plants if you take a picture of the plant?

Current best rated expert-based mobile app is called FlowerChecker which uploads taken photo to team of botanists. Then it displays their answer (so it is paid and human-based).For free automatic identification, there is a web service Plant.id which can identify 8000 most common species with ~ 80% accuracy. It is basically cutting-edge of image recognition. There are also other apps, with lower ratings and different pricing worth trying. To summarise:FlowerChecker (Android and iOS) expert-based and paid,Plant.id (web service) free and machine-learning based,PlantNet Plant Identification (Android) fully automatic,Garden Compass (iOS) both automatic and human-based,Leafsnap (iOS) more like field guide,GardenAnswers (Android) both automatic and human-based.

Identify plant problem - strawberry's leaves have purple edges?

I have a strawberry plant that I obtained just a couple of weeks ago. Eversweet, I believe, is the cultivar. Anyway, I planted it in a strawberry pot. It's out in the yard where it gets quite a bit of sun (east side of the house), except later in the evening. This has only happened to one leaf, so far, but it does concern me. One of the plant's leaves has a purple tinge around the edge of the leaf. It looks sort of like when your plants begin yellowing, but it's purple in color instead of yellow. I'm just learning about diseases and things, and I am thinking it might be too much salt in the soil maybe? The soil in the pot was combined with some of the mix that I used for my transplants (90% Sunshine Mix #1 to 10% organic compost), simply because the soil here is not that great. Though I suppose it could also be because I planted a small borage plant with it too --- I am learning about companion planting and I was under the impression borage and strawberry were supposed to help each other's growth.

Anyway, any insight you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What is the scientific name of this plant (picture link cited below)?

It's locally known as cobra vine in our province here in the Philippines, and a Yahoo! user once told me it's from the genus Smilax. But base on the illustration of the said genus and the appearance of the plant I have with me now, is quite different. So I hope you can help me identify its scientific name or you may advice me of websites where I can ask specialist in this field to help me. Thank you very much in advance! Your help will be a great contribution in fulfilling my college thesis... =)

How Can a Reiger Begonia be planted outside in a hot climate?

Care:
R. begonia does not grow in hot humid regions. It prefers cool temperatures of 70F during the day and 60-65F @ night with bright indirect sun (east window); that’s why it’s a popular winter flowering plant. Grow it in well-drained peat/perlite soil mix or African violet soil and feed with ½ strength houseplant fertilizer every 2 weeks when actively growing. When watering, let it to dry slightly between watering but not too dry or too wet
Be sure to remove the spent flowers to stimulate new bloom.

Re-blooming Once the plant slows down and stops blooming cut it back to several inches above the soil line and place in a cool, medium light area, keeping on the dry side or place it in the shade outdoors during the summer. When you see new growth, repot the plant to a larger container, move it to bright indirect light and start watering and fertilizing. Rieger begonia responds to short days and cool night temperatures (fall/winter) which stimulates it to bloom again.

Trouble shooting
-Direct sun will scorch the leaves
-Too much light will turn the foliage a copper color, then brown.
-Avoid getting water on the leaves as it can cause powdery mildew problems.
-Too much fertilizer will turn the foliage blue green and curled at the ends.
-Overwatering with low temps causes leaves to wilt and turn brown.
-Keep away from heating vents or cold drafts.

Can a tree survive if it is growing into a chain link fence?

In back of my house, there is an old tree, I have no idea what kind it is, however it's been growing there ever since my father bought the house in the early 70's. There was an old metal rolling ladder that the tree completely grew right through. (it also grew through a pile of bricks, which were sitting at one time on the lower part of the ladder) I can attest that this tree is super strong, if it is in any kind of pain........... Well that's another discussion altogether.

If it is still a small sapling you may want to help redirect it away from the fence if you want, before it's too large to move.
