Help Me Out With This Question

Please help me out with this question?

I would likely identify least with a presidential speech however the short stories may not do much for me either. A memoir is a very personal piece and would likely trigger my emotions whether I agree with the writer's feelings or not. You're going to have to read each piece and decide which one you can personally relate to. Everyone is different and everyone reacts differently to specific things. Read them and then ask yourself how you feel afterwards. What opinions do you have about statements made in the writings.

Example -

Statement - "America is the land of the free."

Opinion - "After reading this statement and forming a personal opinion, I have to disagree. America has several laws in place that vary by state. The state we live in does not permit the use of medical marijuana whereas Colorado does. Does this make Colorado the land of the free? My argument is based on state laws."

Statement - "My grandfather served in Vietnam."

Opinion - "It is interesting that the writer's...

A copper rod and a steel rod are heated. At 0◦C the copper rod has a length of LC, the steel one has a length of LS. When the rods are being heated or cooled, a difference of 3.99 cm is maintained between their lengths.
If αC = 1.7×10−5 (◦C)−1 and αS = 1.2 × 10−5 (◦C)−1 , find the value of LC .
Answer in units of cm.

Find the value of LS . Answer in units of cm.

You point a tennis-ball serving machine straight up and put a piece of plastic wrap across the top of the barrel, placing a 10-g marble on top of the barrel. When a 58-g tennis ball in the machine is fired, it sends the marble into the air. The marble rises 220 m above the barrel mouth, and the tennis ball rises 59 m .

Help me out with this math question please it’s my last question and I have no idea what I’m doing. whoever helps me is greatly appreciated?

So think about it logically. You've two pens connected to each other. That means that there are three sides that are three units long (the pens are three times as long as wide), that's nine units. Then there are the end pieces, two for each pen, or a total of four. 4 + 9 = 13. 65 / 13 = 5. So each pen is 5 wide and 15 long.

An automobile tire having a temperature of 6.4◦C (a cold tire on a cold day) is filled to a gauge pressure of 20 lb/in2.
What would be the gauge pressure in the tire when its temperature rises to 44◦C? For simplicity, assume that the volume of the tire remains constant, that the air does not leak out and that the atmospheric pressure re- mains constant at 14.7 lb/in2 .
Answer in units of lb/in2.

Can character come out of a question?

I would say yes. But one must pursue the question with diligence. What the question is matters less than our willingness to question our own assumptions, including assumptions we receive from parents, culture, and religion. If we use our questions and what we learn to become more honest, more truthful, more beneficent, and more harmless, then a question is the beginning of our transforming our character.A key element is that we, ourselves, are asking the question. This is an act of responsibility. Say everyone believes a corrupt politician is honest. We question him or his ideas, and we act on the truth that we discover, we are building our own character and becoming models of ethical behavior.

Can someone help me out with these trigonometry questions?

#15.. bare with me, it's kind of long.

I will use x instead of theta.

I'm going to use the following identities:
1. cos2x = 2cos^2x - 1 = cos^2x - sin^2x = 1 - 2sin^2x
2. sin2x = 2sinxcosx
3. cos(u + v) = cosucosv - sinusinv

cos3x = cos(2x + x) [let u = 2x and v = x]
= cos2x cosx - sin2x sinx [identity 3]
= cos2x cosx - (2sinx cosx)sinx [identity 2]
= (2cos^2x - 1)cosx - 2sin^2x cosx [identity 1]
= cosx [(2cos^2x -1) - (2sin^2x)] {factor out cosx}
= cosx (2cos^2x - 2sin^2x -1) [rearrange]
= cosx [2(cos^2x - sin^2x) - 1] {factor out the 2}
= cosx [2(2cos^2x -1) -1] {identity 1}
= cosx [(4cos^2x - 2) -1] {factor in the 2}
= cosx (4cos^2x -2 -1)
= cosx (4cos^2x -3)

now multiply the cosx and you get

4 cos^3x - 3 cosx

It's a lot of manipulation, but I tried to do it in as many steps possible to understand. Hope this helps!

Physics Light Question?

Hello Everyone. Could someone please help me out with this question. It is really giving me a hard time on my webassign. Thanks.

An 86 mm focal-length lens is used to focus an image on the film of a camera. The maximum distance allowed between the lens and the film plane is 120 mm. How far ahead of the film should the lens be if the object to be photographed is at the following distance from the lens?

(a) 12.8 m away
mm

(b) 3.7 m away
mm

(c) 1.4 m away
mm

(d) What is the closest object this lens could photograph sharply?
