Help Me To Write An Important Mail. Would You Mind Correcting My Mistakes

How do I respond to a client when he sends an email telling you to check and correct your spelling, but you found nothing wrong?

The original question is:How do I respond to a client when he sends an email telling you to check and correct your spelling, but you found nothing wrong?Answer:The first thing to do is to ask yourself: “Do I want or need this client’s business?” If the answer is “No,” then simply do not respond, and delete the e-mailIf your answer is “Yes,” then respond to the client by saying “Thank you for pointing out the error(s) in the previous e-mail. I have explained the matter to my [secretary, partner, etc.] and have been assured that e-mails from this office will read correctly in the future.”Then go on to lay out your valid reason(s) for contacting the client and ask for the client’s order of your product(s). And be sure to proofread it for spelling before sending it.Trying to correct a client’s impression of your spelling could cost you the client’s business. The less you make of a mistake, regardless of whose it is, or whether real or imagined, the sooner it will be forgotten.

Why are people so sensitive about having their grammar corrected?

Personally, I like to speak the language correctly. I'm all for linguistic diversity, but, let's face it, grammar and spelling are going down the tubes. I certainly don't mind if someone points out a grammatical error I make; I figure they've done me a favor since I take care to speak the language correctly. My reaction is roughly equivalent to when someone tells me I've got spinach in my teeth. But it seems I am in the minority on this one. Most people whose grammar I've corrected, with the exception of a few family members and close friends, get offended and act as if I personally insulted their mother. All hyperboles aside, why is this? What is your experience with this?

Do you use 'sorry' or 'apologies' in business emails for late replying a mail?

Good day. In my experience, apologizing for late responses in business emails is okay. However, you should also bear in mind that using the approach too much can create a negative impression to others. If you send a sorry email for a late reply, make sure not to commit the same mistake in the near future.I also agree with the comment of Margaret Weiss that you provide an apology when it's truly necessary. There will be situations wherein your lateness is valid due to workload or other issues. Also, you can try to pattern your response that does not sound too apologetic. Phrases such as 'thank you for patiently waiting' or 'thank you for your patience'.Learning how to choose when to say sorry or provide a better response to business emails can promote strategies to improve professional connections and resolve potential issues or conflict. Hope this helps.

Is it correct to say "it would be great if you can..."? Or should the tense match like "it would be great if you could…"?

The tenses should match. Both of these are correct:1) It will be great if you can do this.2) It would be great if you could do this.In 2), there is no implication that the person cannot do it. And it is the "polite" way to ask for something. 1) can be used after the request is made. It expresses hope that the person will succeed and implies that they might not.

Can you cross out writing on a letter address?

If the address is on the envelop, best you black it out -obscure it as much as possible. Reason (in the US, anyway): addresses are read by an automatic sorter which is actually capable of discerning many different kinds of hand writing. If you merely cross out the incorrect material, the OCR may still try to read it. And who knows where it might end up? However, if you completely black it out, there is “nothing” to read and the OR will work only on what is obviously written material.Hope that helps.

Writers: Are you a grammar/spelling freak in real life as well as in your writing?

Dax, you would laugh if you ever saw inside my head when I'm at work!

Okay, that sounded way crazier than I intended. But, I work in a place where I get emails from real estate agents all the time, and half of them can't even write a proper sentence in English. It's all I can do to not email them back a list of mistakes.

I think I hate it because it's NOT THAT HARD! I mean really, the rules are simple. We learn them in elementary school for a reason.

BQ: Word misuse, I'd say. You're = your, we're = were... etc. Again, it's not hard. Use the ''re' version if you're actually saying, 'you are or we are'. See what I mean?
