Help Me Turn On My Computer

How do I turn on my computer?

First try the on button. If nothing happens, for a desktop pc, make sure the power cable is plugged in and the power switch is in the on position. If it is a laptop, plug in the charging cable and press the on button again. possibly try removing the battery. if all of this doesn’t work, it might be worth going to tech support.

Why won’t my computer turn on?

So I have been having problems with my computer turning off, when I shut it down the power supply would keep running and GPU lights would still be on, after I cleaned it out a bit it was working fine but now it’s doing the same thing But before it would boot up when I press the power button even though the power was still going. Now it won’t turn on even when I press it. I want to know if I have to replace the power supply or not it’s an EVEA 500w thank you

Oh, my gosh! My screen is sideways (this is the top of my screen -->), and I don't know how to turn it back. I don't know what I hit, but I don't know how to fix this and I don't want to have to turn my head sideways all the time. This is probably really obvious, but I don't know how to fix it. Any help?

Should I turn off my desktop computer when I'm done with it, or let it "sleep" (energy savings, wear and tear etc)?

Niall Roche has a pretty good answer to this question. This question is one of the age old arguments I have heard for 20+ years. Leave it running or shut it down. The only answer to that question I have discovered is this question: Which do you prefer? The biggest difference will likely be power consumption, rather than wear and tear on the components. If you like your computer to at the ready for you any time, then put it to sleep (or just leave it running) and just restart the computer once a week or so.If you don’t care about waiting a minute or two for your machine to boot up, shut it down when you don’t need it.The only thing I would suggest is that if you are going to be using your computer off and on all day, just leave it running. If you use the machine once in the morning and once at night, just shut it down until you need it.Of all the computers I have had, some I have left running 24/7 and others I have shut down regularly. Other than startup times, I never noticed any difference in the hardware lifespan when a computer is left running 24/7 or shut down. If a computer is going to fail, it will fail regardless of whether you run it all the time or if you leave it shut down most of the time.

Can a virus affect your computer while it's turned off?

A computer virus is composed of computer instructions. As with any other program, it can only execute on a running, powered-up processor. It will remain inert until the computer is turned on. On a modern computer (using dynamic RAM, as opposed to, say, magnetic core memory), it could not persist in memory when the computer is off, but would have to be re-loaded from non-volatile storage such as a hard drive, SD card, or (rarely) motherboard firmware. However, modern computers are not always that simple. A server system might have a management system which can run when the main CPUs are halted, and that is itself a computer which can host malware. It is still a computer, and still needs power, so if the server is disconnected from all power sources, that will be off, too.
