What is the history of Halloween?
Halloween, the 2nd most expensive festival in U.S. after Christmas is extremely popular amongst kids, where they get an opportunity to trick and treat.The fun and frolic element of Halloween is pretty new. It traces its route to the ancient Samhain festival celebrated in Ireland. Samhain is considered the time when the 'door' to the other world opens and dead communicates with the earthly beings. It also traces routes from All Hallow's Eve and All Saint's Day celebrated in many parts of the world.Basically the dead were remembered and many people believed that as the spirits could wander freely during the period, they can probably inhabit their houses. Thus, to scare them away, Irish people started placing the carved turnips outside their homes. This was their way to ward off the devil.Likewise, All Hallow's Eve and All Saint's Day also included pleasing the dead.However, as Irish migrated to U.S. which has Pumpkins in abundance, they started creating the jack o lanterns of Pumpkin.Initially, this festival had too many superstitions and many people still suffer fromSamhainophobia which is an irrational fear of Halloween.However, most of the superstitions are rooted out in this century and it has been transformed to a holiday where Halloween parties are arranged, strange costumes are worn and a lot of trick and treat is enjoyed by the kids. It might surprise you but the Candy makers love Halloween as its a $6 billion industry.

the story opens with a outlaw named mark mcgivens being shot and going to be turned into the undead by a swamp witch, but first he must eat a live rabbit, he then becomes the dark master a vampire like creature wrapped in bandages like a mummy, his followers are blood lords, he is cursed to walk the streets of wetumpka alabama every halloween, he can be weakened by light but never destroyed he targets 4 brothers, jacob carter , luke carter , william carter and nathan carter, who are under the care of their drunk uncle jack carter, he also targets the carter native american friend mr. baloo, and jacob carters love interest melissa wilson, and her baby sister cindy wilson, the story will have 3 sequels

I need caption ideas for preschool picture slide show?
I'm doing some slide shows for my daughter's pre-k class. I will be copying these and sending one DVD home with each child. I'm doing great on the technical part, it's the creative part that I am stalled on. I would like to add some cute captions (for example: here we grow... etc) But I am having a mental block. Pictures included are from events such as: first day of school, Halloween, Christmas, Hispanic heritage month, everyday class activities such as playing house, computer, building with blocks, playing with friends, playing on the playground, st. Patrick's day, valentines day, spring, snack time, sharing, board games, art, cooking, thanksgiving and on and on... any ideas would be much appreciated, if it relates to a theme great, if not just childhood in general works fine. Does anyone know? Steve and Joyce were in an intimate relationship. It was his nickname for her.
What is the most memorable thing that happened in your college days?
Thanks for A2A !! My entire college life is a memorable one! To be more specific, the Industrial tour with my class can never ever be forgotten!! Awesome memories.. We used to shout ,scream and dance in the bus for beat songs.. We dance till we drop. Enjoy every second of the tour.. In lodge we scare all people and play.. We turn into small kids in those times.. Now if I think it makes me laugh at our kiddishness.. Actually one turns out to be a small kid when he/ she is totally with friends.. Best memories ever.. Bunking classes and eating in canteen and there comes our teacher ! Oh my God ! Each one runs into different directions.. Once my friends and me went to canteen and were late for class.. We cooked up a story that one of our friend fainted and bunked the entire class making an excuse to take her to hospital and we roamed .. Though its wrong to do this but we enjoyed it!! Exam halls are the best..!! Though I wont help anyone to copy my answers, people will beg answers from me.. I would laugh so much when I see their expressions.. And the way they copy in classrooms can never be forgotten.Then one day we found a newly hatched sparrow was lying on the corridor and we girls found the nest and saved it.. That nearly took 3 hours and we bunked class .. The way we shout our friend's name when her enemy or her crush passes by, she would burst into tears begging us not to do that.. We used to sit and learn together.. Some will write answers in bits of papers, store important constants in calculator!! When the teacher takes attendance ,we will shout absent for the one who is present !! And she will jump up and shout " present mam" and she would be scolded.. Eating in the class , sitting at the last bench and passing it to all friends and pretend not to eat when the teacher sees.Standing together when there is a problem for a girl and speak as if I'll give my life for her but finally the teacher will say " only the girl who has problem be here , others move out!" We would come out laughing.When the teacher scolds our friend we all will bend down and laugh badly ..So so many incidents I can never forget .. College days taught me to laugh till my stomach hurt!! All looks so stupid.. But I'm sure when I'm an old granny .. Sitting on chair , leaning back, ill laugh with tears when I recall these!! .. Thanks again A2A . You got me tears in my eyes!!
