Help My Kitten Fell Into Some Waste Oil How Do I Clean Her

How do i get grease off of a little kitten safely?

Dawn is the only one my vet has ever recommended. The cornstarch works , too. But if you don't have any, try plain flour then gently brush it out. It absorbs grease and oil like crazy.

It finally happened...my kitten fell in the toilet?

I knew it was coming...she loves to watch it flush. So does she need a bath or will it hurt her to clean herself? It wasn't flushed (no solid waste). My sons are notorious for not flushing. She's not soaked, just her feet and rear end.

Help! My kitten fell into some waste oil--how do I clean her?

My husband was working on his truck and left a bucket of waste oil sitting there. The kitten was playing in the garage and fell into it. She has it mostly on her chest and paws. When I saw her, I just grabbed her, held her under the faucet and washed her with regular hand-soap but trying to hold a struggling, yowling kitten is hard. I think if anything, I just dispersed it. I am afraid that no matter what I put on her, she's going to lick it. What do I do?

How do I get baby oil off of my kitten?

So yesterday my grandmother decided it would be a great idea to put baby oil on our 3 month old kitten to get fleas off of her. Well, obviously it made her fur all greasy and now she looks like a Webkinz (you know how their hair is all stringy and gross?). She's bathed her at least twice now with cat shampoo and I wiped her off with a wet rag and cat shampoo but she's still really greasy. How do I get it off? I tried to bathe her again but as soon as she saw the sink running she scratched my hands all over and hid under a chair.

BQ: could the baby oil hurt her? The vet is completely booked all week (they had cheaper prices on checkups for the holidays).

How can I get baby oil off a kitten?

We had a little accident with baby oil today. I gave the kitten one bath, but still pretty greasy. Any suggestions? The kitten is 7 weeks old.
PS - refrain from telling me to take the cat to a vet or to find it a better home or to basically bend me over and... well I think you get my point - don't bother answering if you can't be sympathitic and understanding.

My kitten fell into my candle warmer, her back leg is covered in Wax. How do i get it out ,will it harm her?

Check to see what kind of candle it was - if the wax was soy based, it will not harm her (wax is pretty edible, actually), but it it’s from parafin, it could be toxic. Try dawn dish detergent in a bath - it’s what they used to get oil off of animals in BP oil spill, so it may work on wax. Soak her in a warm bath and massage to get the wax off. Try combing it out, too. It may pull out the wax or the loose fur that has the wax on it.

What is the effect of vegetable oil on a cat's digestive health?

Odds are you (and your cat) won’t have any problems. Cats are incredibly efficient at breaking down and digesting fat, so I would be very surprised if there was any diarrhea fallout (I am trying to imagine how much veg. oil a cat would have to ingest to override that system….usually fat is only going to cause diarrhea/show up in the stool in a cat with a whopping intestinal problem or pancreatic failure). Keep in mind, it is pretty common to have a vet recommend adding vegetable oil to a dog or cat’s food if they have dry/flaky skin to see if it helps the situation, so it is commonly used without fear of gastrointestinal upset.

My kitten fell into a warm tub with a bit of lavender baby oil in it. Will be be okay?

Lavender is an aromatherapy used to assist in calming and deep sleep. It must be used carefully with babies and children, therefore caution should extend to a kitten. The oil was for babies; your kitten probably weighs much less than a baby. Therefore, there is a high likelyhood that your kitten will be okay.

Personally, I would not take a chance. I would wash off the lavendar with a light pet shampoo and rest easy. If you choose to not wash off the oil, watch your kitten carefully for oddly deep sleep, and erratic or labored breathing. In the event of a negative observation you will need to rush to the vet.
