My laptop is smells like its burning?
Okay so my laptop (msi gt780dxr) randomly stoped charging a few days ago and when ever pluged in the laptop emites a burning oder i trying buying a new charger but had no luck i would call msi but my brother broke the sticker on the bottem meaning the warrenty is void anyone have ideas

Your laptop is probably choking for air and when you are playing games and using disks and such, you are pushing the laptop harder. Get a can of compressed air and blow out the vents and such. Then get a laptop cooling pad. This should take care of it.

Ok so, I was actually charging my laptop from 4-11 (I have to do this since my laptop"s battery doesn't work properly) around 11 it Smell like something was burning, so I kinda ignored it for a bit and 5 mins later when I was really sure something plastic was burning I found my laptop charger over heated and the plastic part around it(signs and stuff) was almost burned, well, I had my laptop on my bed which had so much mess so it didn't really had that much space and uhm, my laptop was on my bed. Anywayz when I took the charger off the plug I saw that the cord that was near the battery part was almost burned, it was dislocated so right now I took it off and put it somewhere where i could cool.it down, I really need help, and please tell me if it could still.work tomorrow I'm really curious and that's all :$ thanksyou

Why does my laptop smell like it's burning?
Either your battery is fried or you have your laptop in a bad area; meaning the cooling fan is not getting enough air to cool the inside of the laptop. Ex. If your sitting down with your laptop on your lap or using your laptop in crowded places, those can all count for bad areas where your laptop isn't able to cool on the inside. Hope this helps :)

hello, yes may be there is the your heating fan coil is burn out. so don’t try to start your laptop first you should go to local laptop repair shop and tell them they will check it and if they find any problem they will repair it. i think there is heat sink coil is burn out that’s why smell is comes from your laptop fan.

My Dell Inspiron One shut off and smells like burning plastic..?
The computer thats built like a mac, but not really. Its all in the screen. Im on mobile at the moment. But anyway, theres a back part that I flipped open and there was a bulge in the center on the back. Idk if it was there before. Yesterday it made a weird pop noise while I was on. I don't know if I should let it cool off for the night or if my fan is messed up?! when I smell in the top vent it still smells burnt-plastic like.
