Windows Defender isn't working help!?

It's not important if you already have security software installed. If you already have security software, Anti-virus, and/or Anti-malware, it could just be a glitch, I have the same thing, and I have Avast, and MBAM pro. For some stupid reason Windows defender gets installed along with windows updates, and if you have security software already it is supposed to be turned off automatically, and turned on automatically if you don't. I have not sought a cure for that warning myself, because I don't care that it's not turned on.

I can't open Windows Defender!!!!!!?

When I click on windows defender, it says EXACTLY "This app has been turned off and isn't monitoring your computer. If you're using another app to check for malicious or unwanted software, use Action Center to check the app's status." I've tried running it as an administrator, and I went to the action center. When I got there, it said nothing about windows defender. I even opened task manager and tried it there, but it said "Operation could not be completed. Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be a malicious software from an unknown source." I tried everything and the window won't open..........please help!!!

Btw, I have a windows 8

Windows Defender Won't Turn On?

My windows defender refuses to turn on. When I go into my start menu and select it, it comes up with this message: "Windows Defender has been turned off and isn't monitoring your computer. If you're using another app to check for malicious or unwanted software, use the Action Center to check that app's status."

After this, I go to the Action Center and it says this:

Security
Virus Protection (Important)
Windows Defender is turned off --------------------------------- [Turn on now]
--------------------------------------... Find an app online to help protect my PC

No matter how many times I click the [Turn on now] button, nothing happens. I can't go into Start>Windows Defender>Tools>Options, no matter what I try, nor can I select troubleshoot or most any other option in the dropdown menu. Do I have a virus that's stopping me from using this? I could really use some help, because I feel I really need to have this program turned on right now.

How do I fix the Windows Defender error code 0x80004004?

Windows Defender Error Code 0x80004004 and other critical errors can occur when your Windows operating system becomes corrupted. Opening programs will be slower and response times will lag. When you have multiple applications running, you may experience crashes and freezes. There can be numerous causes of this error including excessive startup entries, registry errors, hardware/RAM decline, fragmented files, unnecessary or redundant program installations and so on.You can dramatically improve the speed of your machine when you address all the problems just mentioned. In order to fix your errors and improve the speed of your PC, it is recommended that you download the 'Windows Defender Error Code 0x80004004 Repair Tool'. This is an advanced optimization tool that can repair all the problems that are slowing your computer down.If that does not work, then just reinstall the original version of Windows on top of itself, to restore the original functionality.  You could try a Restore point, but you would have to guess, and it could lose recently installed registration.  Safer to reinstall the original installation media, which should retain the entire registry.
