1. Why did the guy write that stuff on their bodies...? A: He wrote the symbolic writings on the bodies to bind their spirits to the house so that Jonah can be a more powerful medium. Since Jonah was communicating to the dead, you can assume that controlling dead spirits will boost up his power. 2. What did the ectoplasm (sp?) have to do with anything? A: The movie explained the ectoplasm briefly. They explained that usually powerful mediums have ectoplasm coming out of them while communicating to the dead. In this case, they were trying to say how Jonah got too powerful because of the spirits in the house (remembered how it exploded and killed the people there?) 3. Why did he have to burn all the bodies? Weren't they fine in the beginning? A: Since the bodies are in the house, their spirits are still bound to the house and could not "cross over." They would still haunt the family if they remained there. Burning the bodies free their spirits so that they can move on instead of haunting people. And that's why he burned the bodies. Hope my answers clear things up for you :) It was a good horror movie in my opinion. Made me jump a lot of times... but they need more original tricks to scare you than ghosts popping up in front of your face randomly ><

Haunted houses aren't really haunted. It's just people who let their imaginations run away with them. I've never seen anything I couldn't explain. If you approach things logically and understand how the brain works, you don't mistake ordinary things for stuff like ghosts.

Can someone explain the movie An American Haunting because I did not understand it at all.?
I found the film to be a little confusing as well because of it's inconsistencies with the real legend. In the film,Betsy Bell created the Bell Witch to protect herself. Betsy finally has a revelation: the attacks she suffers from are caused by a being who was born out of her innocence – i.e. herself – and the reason for them was for her to "remember". She needed to remember that the true cause of her pain was that her father has sexually abused her. Lucy, Betsy's mother, is given the same revelation while sitting on the house's porch, as she had witnessed the assault herself. Both had apparently forgotten the incident, in order not to relive the pain it caused.The film then shows Betsy poisoning her father,John Bell. When the film returns to present day,the mother has finished reading the letters and then sends her daughter off to spend the weekend with the child's father.The mom then receives a warning from Betsy Bell saying "help her!" and it is then that the woman realizes that her own daughter is being sexually abused by her ex husband (her child's father).
What is scientific proof or explanation for ghosts?
Actually sometimes it is just a confusion. Like some tree we perceive as a ghost hand, sometimes you may see a white cloth as a freaking girl in white dress! But all these are confusions. These have a straight away scientific explanation that these are play of our mind with colors,space and perceptions. But some things are actually really unscientific. Beyond science, or physical existence. Now if you are a very scientific person you'll shit at this aswer. But if you believe, then you'll know that I am right. I was the greatest atheist, but after things went upon me, I understood that there are actually things which don't have scientific relationship to this existence. Actually I have a lot of things that can make you believe that what ultranatural things are. I, but, don't want to share it to anyone. But for world, it is so that ghost don't just roam here and there and capture a person, and do anything. In my experiences, I tell you, that ghosts are hidden in cracks of building walls, haunted houses, in spider webs left by spiders, in dried trees, in empty rooms etc. But ghosts are not all bad. As to scientific explanation, science is not as advanced to understand ghosts, because science refuses the unnatural things. Because science is not able to give explanation to these things, so it puts a tag of superstition on them. Good for them, the scientifics, that these things don't come upon them, as these people themselves keep on repeating, this is false, untrue, not real, fake, superstition,.................. Okay, just forget,...... Live life the way you want....... But do trust God...... And do try to get freedom from worldly bondages..............
Have you ever experienced a haunting? Can you explain the circumstances surrounding that event?
My family and I experienced a genuine haunting for nine years solid that left us all in no doubt that it’s most certainly real, in fact, the property we lived in actually convinced a skeptic and a non believer so this is well worth a look and really does need to be documented. We experienced very mild poltergeist activity such as lights going off and on, we witnessed electrical cables being pulled and we heard footsteps every evening, sometimes during the day when we’d all be downstairs watching TV. There was also the occasional sighting but this was very rare indeed. You can find a much more detailed account of our experiences by searching on youtube, : ‘’ THE GHOST OF GLADSTONE VILLA’’. A genuine case that really did happen to me, my family and our friends from 1969 to the Summer of 1978. I wouldn’t share this if it couldn’t be backed up with a thorough research.
