Help Puppy Stuck Need Vets Advice Asap

At home treatment advice for parvo? NEED HELP ASAP!?

You do realize the vet only treats the symptoms and not the virus. They give fluids to keep the dog hydrated and an antibiotic for the secondary infections, but it does not work on the virus itself. If you keep your dog hydrated and get an antibiotic like Vibactra Plus, you are doing the same thing like a vet does. He may prescribe other drugs that really don't do much, the virus still runs its full course. By using Parvaid, which works on the virus itself and symptoms related, you are actually doing more than the vet does. Some vets are now using Parvaid in parvo cases.

Amber Technology the makers of Parvaid has a hotline toll free you can call 877-727-8243. You can also download a free PDF step by step guide on how to overcome parvo.

To update you on vaccinations, they do not create the immunity, your immune system does. The vaccinations injects the actual virus into your body and causes the immune system to create the immunity to it. But, if your immune system in compromised and/or weak, then you will actually get sick from the vaccination. You hear of people getting the flu shot and getting sick from it, that is the reason why they do. If you vaccinate yourself or your pets, then do a detox about a week after to get rid of the toxins that vaccines leaves behind.

My Dog is Covered in Ticks I need Advice ASAP!?

Your dog needs to be on a monthly flea and tick preventive which you can order over the internet or get it from your vet.

And giving the dog up because you think you are doing a lousy job of caring for him is called *poor pitiful me*. Stop it. I have seen and heard a lot worse!

Get some DAWN soap. Soak him in it. Let it set for 5 to 10 minutes. The ticks will come right off but you MUST invest in a PREVENTIVE to keep them from getting on your dog again and if they get on the dog they will die. It is called *dog maintenance*.

VETS!! I need advice on my dog ASAP!?

Yesterday morning my Chihuahua and Boston Terrier mixed breed was attacked by a large stray Chow. She has a puncture wound on her rear thigh and two by her ribs where she was bitten. I have cleaned the wounds and treated her as best I can. She is up to date on her shots, she is not running a fever, and I don't feel any heat or pulse coming from the wounded areas. Here is the problems : She is acting really, really sluggish, she doesn't want to move at all if she doesn't have too, She responds to commands but won't actual perform them (IE she perks her ears and makes and attempt to move, but just hangs her head and lays back down.)

I also picked up a stray puppy Today and she seems to be responding ever worse since the little dog has been in the house. The blood that I get when I clean the wound will be kind of thick at first but it still has a dark red color and will eventually bleed into a bright red hue.

Is she just depressed or is something wrong? I don't have a Vet that can

PLEASE help!!! I need a vet's advice!?

The vet needs to know what type of worms first. You can call and ask how much they charge to check a stool sample (you take one of her poops in in a plastic bag and they check it). They'll give you prices on the phone. Here I think a stool check is $9 or less.

Shots usually means a checkup too--at my vet they charge $35 for the exam, $15 for the 3-in-one vaccination and I think $10 for the rabies shot. They don't need another for 3 years on the vaccination and usually 2 years on the rabies, though some vets use only a one year vaccine on the rabies. You can ask them which they use and how much. Really, they'll tell you all the prices on the phone, so you can know in advance.

Ask if they've got low income pricing also, and tell them that you're on a budget but want to make sure she's got vet care. Some vets charge less that way.

Worm medicine, that depends on what kind of worms. Some cost $8, some cost $15. If the prices sound too high, thank them and then call another vet. It pays to check around for prices.

You don't need a feluke vaccine unless your cat will be exposed to cats who may have feline leukemia. If yours is an indoor cat, you won't have to worry about that vaccination. The fewer vaccinations a cat gets, the better off it is, as too many vaccines given at the same time can really stress out a cat.

There's an FIV vaccine too--I highly suggest you don't get that even if the vet recommends it. It only works on one type of FIV (there are 3 types in the USA) and only 60 % of the time on that one, so it's not the best out there yet. And because it leave antibodies in your cat, your cat will always test positive on the FIV test, even though she won't have FIV. If she's lost and gets picked up by animal control or the animal shelter and they test for FIV, she'll look positive and they all euthenize these cats. A lot of cat owners are NOT happy about this! No test can determine if the cat was vaccinated or is actually FIV+.

Question about fleas and worms in dogs? Need advice ASAP please!?

Okay, we just adopted a maltese/rat terrier puppy (he's about 5 months old) from the shelter I do a lot of volunteer work at. I recently noticed in his stool small white things that looked like grains of rice. Inevitably, they are probably tapeworm segments. So after some research, I found out that tapeworms are most often caused by fleas. Now, he itches now and again, but dogs do that sometimes anyway, and I don't know how to tell if he truly has fleas. Just to be safe, we're going to get some flea shampoo and dewormer meds from the pet store. (Just because I know somebody is going to say this: yes, if necessary, we will take him to the vet, but due to the price of most of these medications, this is a last resort)

So... Anyway, my question is this: Since fleas are what cause the worms, would it be okay to use both treatments at the same time? I just need to know if this is harmful in any way, or if only one or the other needs to be used instead of both.

All answers are much appreciated!

I need help with my dog asap?

this could be ring worm,

but there are plenty of other things it could be.

ring worm in dogs is not always the typical round lesion as in humans, so you simply cannot make the diagnosis just on shape or appearence of the lesion.

a much more common problem which appears in the way you have describes is a simple superficial skin infection with bacteria (most often Shaphylococcus intermedius)

so my advise would be
1/ DONT PANIC do take him to the vets, but this may be something very simple
2/ if you do touch the area, wash your hands after. (as you should with your dog any way)
3/ dont put any lotions or ointments on the lesion, this will just make diagnosis harder, and without knowing what the problem is you may not get this to clear quickly.

My puppy is extremely weak. please help. I need a vet's help. ASAP?

My first concern would be to ask what the vet has said the problem is. The Dextrose he gave the pup is supposed to help stimulate and give energy and keeps the blood glucose from going too low. I am also concerned that the vet did not keep this pup.
If you are attempting to keep the pup's energy up, I would be using the syringe to give Pedialyte or Gatorade ever so often - about 15 to 20 cc every couple of hours. But the most important step you could take is to find a vet that will give you some answers. From your question, what I am getting is that the pup has no energy and has no will to fight whatever has afflicted her.
As someone else suggested, she was really too young to leave her mother and she may well not have built up the immunity she needed from the mother's milk. Still, there is little we can tell you here without more information. I am sure you are keeping the pup warm. Again, what has the vet indicated is wrong? If the vet is not giving you any answers, I would find another vet rather quickly. I am not trying to be a pessimist here...but realistic and it really sounds like you are running out of time fast.
I know this is one of the hardest things to deal with when you get a pup. I wish you well and will keep you and your new pups in my thoughts and prayers.
My email is open if you want to email me. I will be happy to respond to any specific questions, but it is hard to know what to say without an understanding of what the vet is thinking with this pup. I know what I am seeing from your question, but I do not like to speculate.

I am not sure if you are married or have kids. However, you must surely be knowing people who have become parents. Becoming a pet parent or a parent is almost similar. Both a puppy as well as a baby need a lot of love at attention. They are a source of new zeal, energy and love in life but they also come with certain responsibilities.Unlike, when becoming a parent, when you visit the doctor much before you even decide to conceive; you need not plan adopting a puppy so much in advance. However, as soon as you have adopted a puppy, you should take him/her to a vet and ensure that she is not already suffering from any disease. Further, any normal vet would give you the schedule of vaccinations that you need to give to the puppy.Your preparation should also be in your head to understand the changes that a puppy brings when it comes to your life. Becoming a pet parent is not just the cuddles of the puppy, the warmth of the puppy sitting in our lap, the coziness of having a puppy in your arms. They come with responsibilities!A young puppy shall need constant feeding, you may need to wake up even at the middle of the night to feed it. You would need to take him/her for regular exercises. When you want to go out for dinner, you may need to search for restaurants that allow pets. When you are going for a vacation, you may first need to plan to have your beloved puppy with someone caring and safe. Alternatively, you may need to find a hotel/resort that allows puppies. Therefore, forget about the extrinsic things associated with adopting a puppy, you need to first understand the intrinsic changes that shall come in your life when you get a puppy. There is a beautiful story of how the life of a couple changed (for the better) when they got a puppy. You may want to read it to understand if your are ready for a puppy yet

SEVERE CAT DENTAL PROBLEM: I need advice A.S.A.P. - Please!!!!?

'm literally freeking out at the moment. My 10 year old (active) male long hair cat needs his teeth removed, so my original vet says, another says he has 2 bad ulcers and simply needs antibiotics. However, the round of amoxicillin did absolutely nothing so I took the advice of my original vet and am keeping him on Clym. drops until I have enough money to get his teeth removed.

In the last month I have noticed two lumps directly under his jaw, left and right, about where our human lymph nodes would be located. I equated them to the infection and figured it would go away, however upon further inspection yesterday, I noticed them getting slightly bigger and they seem to have "moved down" closer to his neck area. I can not bring him to a vet until my next pay day which is in about 10 days. He's still on the Clym. drops (twice a day - total of 3mg per day) so I haven't been too worried, however what I just noticed is scaring me.

He began "chewing" thin air like there is something "stuck" in his mouth. It makes a slight clicking or smacking noise when he does this. His tongue hangs on one side of his mouth when he does this and he is putting his paw to his mouth like he is trying to remove something. I don't think he has a fever. I would check thuroughly but I need another person to help me. Please can someone give me some insight as to what this could be and what I need to do. I have $80 and that is it until payday so I believe that would only cover an office visit.

Thank you so much in advance for your time....Meow Meows thanks you, too =)

PS......the second vet also noticed an ear infection and gave me a waxy, liquid antibiotic to place in ears. After 2 weeks he is still shaking his head alot. His breath is also extremely foul, if that helps.
