Help Receipt After Advertisment Sale

If put out advertisment in mail boxes...can the post office legally charge you postage if take them up?

Assuming you are referring to the US post office.....

18 USC § 1725

Whoever knowingly and willfully deposits any mailable matter such as statements of accounts, circulars, sale bills, or other like matter, on which no postage has been paid, in any letter box established, approved, or accepted by the Postal Service for the receipt or delivery of mail matter on any mail route with intent to avoid payment of lawful postage thereon, shall for each such offense be fined under this title. AMENDMENTS 1994 - Pub. L. 103-322 substituted "fined under this title" for "fined not more than $300". 1970 - Pub. L. 91-375 substituted "Postal Service" for "Postmaster General". EFFECTIVE DATE OF 1970 AMENDMENT Amendment by Pub. L. 91-375 effective within 1 year after Aug. 12, 1970, on date established therefor by Board of Governors of United States Postal Service and published by it in Federal Register, see section 15(a) of Pub. L. 91-375, set out as an Effective Date note preceding section 101 of Title 39, Postal Service.

If you call them, you will get out cheap. If you don't and they press the issue, you could be fined up to 300.00 per offense.

As for the 'why', it is because it is against federal law. Pretty simple.

How do advertisements manipulate our buying/consumer behaviour?

The main task of advertising is not to manipulate but to strike a chord with the consumers. Unfortunately, today everything is manipulated including the news we consume. That said, consumer behaviour can be shaped in many ways - we may call it shaped or persuaded to believe in a communication message here. A lot depends on the category we are working on. If it is a high involvement category, we tend to see stickiness of consumers with the brands that advertise in that category. So mobile phones are exciting for some, colas and chocolates for others and bikes and cars for some others. We tend to like ads of the categories we find exciting. So if you are an infrequent hair oil user, you are bound to not recall ads of hair oil as easily as that of a shampoo brand. If you are able to tell an interesting story around your brand of shampoo then you have got the consumer's attention. The story need not be in the form of a TV ad. It could be any communication message agnostic of its medium. Today's consumer has short attention span, is looking for entertainment and if you are able to deliver this through your ad in a relevant manner (which means a fair involvement of the consumer with the category and your brand fulfilling a need of the consumer) then you may be able to persuade the consumer to 'consider' your brand. As for low involvement categories like engine oils, salt, etc it is a different ball game. I feel it is tougher to get somebody's attention in a cluttered high involvement category as there are many brands vying for your attention as compared to a low involvement category. The latter is what should get the creative writers excited as it is fertile unexplored territory. But more often than not, creative people find the category too boring to produce something persuasive.

After watching McDonald's on adverts, can I sue them when my burgers look nothing like the ones on the adverts?

You can try, but it is unlikely you will win.Why is this? Well, to begin with, it does look like the ones in the adverts. Let's use a Big Mac. The one's in the advert have a double split bun (bottom, middle, top). They contain a special sauce (Big Mac Sauce), diced onions, shredded lettuce, cheese, pickles, and two pieces of meat. The one you get at the store has a double split bun, special sauce, diced onions, shredded lettuce, cheese, pickles, and two pieces of meat. Therefore, they do look like the ones in the advert. While the above photo may be true on a general basis, you can see the resemblance. Let me just note that if I was the manager in the store and THIS Big Mac came out, you bet your ass I'd be talking to that employee. That Big Mac is unacceptable.Anyways, let's continue on. We don't guarantee the item you receive will look EXACTLY like the ones you see pictured. We can't. Do you know how much work goes into making a picture of one of those items? Over 4 hours of work.Let me extend upon Jeff's answer. Let's say you get that aggressive judge. As you stated, the most he should do is award you the price of your purchase, which McDonald's will refund. Not an issue. However, you would save a lot of time just asking for a replacement because the sandwich was not good, or whatever reason. Generally, you'll get it*.*Depends on the store. The one I worked at in the past required the receipt, and a few other items. The one I work at now is a no-questions-asked.Thanks for the A2A! (Not sure why I was anonymous).

When can you consider your boyfriends personal property abandoned?

There is no prescription to ownership except in cases where the owner is established to be dead so your boyfriend can come back anytime to claim his property. While he may have bought it while you were together, since he bought it with his own money and not with money jointly owned by you (I presume) then it is still his property. What you can do is send him a letter notifying him that unless he claims the property within a certain period of time, he is considered to have waived his rigfht to such property. Be sure to have the letter registered or with proof of receipt so you can use it as proof in case he later claims the property

How do newspaper vendors make money?

Hi,This is so simple. It works on area to area basis. Generally urban areas has more income compared to semi urban/ rural areasTheir is two kinds of income attached to Newspaper vendors. One is fixed and another is variable (sometimes he gets or sometimes not)Process starts here:To deliver newspapers at your doorstep at 6 am, the distribution process starts at 3 am. (This is the peak hour of sleep, isn’t it? Come what may, none of us will sacrifice sleep in the early morning hours)The newspapers get printed around 3 am. Once the paper is out, the distribution team will count the bundles, affix challan/receipt and dispatch them to various depots. The challan contains the name of the salesman, number of copies of each newspaper, depot name, etc.At the Depot – The newspaper van arrives at the depot between 4 and 5 am. At the depot, the driver and the support staff perform the task of unloading the bundles. To the Vendors – After sorting out the papers, the depot sell the newspapers to the vendors. The vendors are distribution contractors (not the employees of the paper company). The vendors have to pay the amount towards the paper in cash. (There is a practice of paying in advance by the vendors who distribute over 3000-4000 copies every)To Home – The vendors sort out the papers and insert pamphlets if any (Note: as per the law, it is prohibited to insert pamphlets). Each vendor will have a team of delivery boys who in turn will deliver the papers to homes. Income of the vendor – The vendors will get around 30% -40% as commission. For example, he will get Rs.1 for a cover price of Rs.3.50. Apart from the commission; he also makes income on the paper insertions at Rs. 15 to 20 per 100 pamphlets. (So, the newspaper won’t make money in selling them. They earn through advertisements) Salary of delivery boys – Each delivery boy distribute papers to around 70-90 houses. They are paid a monthly salary. The salary ranges from Rs. 1000 to Rs.1500 per month. Transportation – The vendors either provide the cycle to the delivery boys or ask them to get their own cycle. Those who get their own cycle will get higher salary.

I am going to start a Tiffin service business online and offline. What are important things I should keep in mind?

I usually work with startups to learn more about them, on their strategies and growth hacking. When it comes about online tiffin delivery service, i am not going to share what's common, like delicious food, hygiene, and etc, a lots of people had already done that, i hope you will analyze best points form all of these answers, so exuding what's already written. Delivery and Time : Charge delivery fees but to deliver the tiffins wherever the customer wants, decide pricing per radius. this will make you win over competitors, your customers will be more happy. more of office bachelors, may be they want it in office, of at home, this changes regularly.Delivery time : keep that like 1 and half hour at max, so you can deliver it hot. Disposables : Instead of sending out the food in regular plastic tiffins, sent out in silver poly bags, and send out disposables too according to food. Because if you are going to buy tiffins, after a few times it will becomes too ugly, and it will raise your costs too. you don't need to collect them for evening's food. You won't need to wash them, so a lots of benefits on both consumer side and your side.  I assumes your targeted customers are those living far from home, so this is the thing you should pay attention.Interaction : Know your customers, add them at facebook/whatsapp/or any other IM.Interact with them, become best friends with them, see this level of interaction i had with one of the Online tiffin service : and i just love the way they do this.Keep your delivery boys same, so customers can be friends with them. teach them how to talk, how to communicate.REMEMBER : Don't be a regular tiffin center, Be an online business. I wished to write a lot, but that is very identical with Manish Tiwari's answer so please follow that.
