Help Trying To Lose Wight

I am obese and trying to lose weight. Will it help me lose weight faster if I build lean muscle? Should I add weight training in my routine instead of doing pure cardio?

Evidence shows that people who lose weight gradually and steadily (about 1 to 2 pounds per week) are more successful at keeping weight off. Healthy weight loss isn’t just about a “diet” or “program”. It’s about an ongoing lifestyle that includes long-term changes in daily eating and exercise habits. To lose weight, you must use up more calories than you take in. Since one pound equals 3,500 calories, you need to reduce your caloric intake by 500—1000 calories per day to lose about 1 to 2 pounds per week.Once you’ve achieved a healthy weight, by relying on healthful eating and physical activity most days of the week (about 60—90 minutes, moderate intensity), you are more likely to be successful at keeping the weight off over the long term.Choose the activities that best fit your schedule, your budget, your abilities, and your taste. Construct a balanced program by adding the weight training, stretching, and exercises for balance that you need. Start slowly, build-up gradually, and — above all — stick with it.I would recommend you to consult your dietitian before you take any action.Disclaimer: I am the co-founder of DeeveHealth. I hate cardio, but am trying to lose weight. Help!?

I seriously hate cardio. Not only am I out of shape, but I get bored doing it. I do 30 minutes of it at least 4 times a week, but even that is a struggle and I find myself walking at an incline on the treadmill for about 30 minutes on my phone. I m not even breaking a sweat. What can I do to lose fat besides cardio? Or, what can help me like or want to do cardio?

I am so freaking hungry! Help! Trying to lose weight.?

Gosh, so I'm on this balanced diet plan, you know reduced calories, moderate exercise, lots of veggies, low fat, etc. etc.

I'm hungry ALL the time it seems like. I feel like eating a whole bag of chips, an entire 12" sub, a whole rotisserie chicken. You get the picture. I feel like eating massive quantities of food, and frequently.

I'm getting lots of small meals, and lots of "free" foods to help satisfy me, but I've been at this plateau for freaking two months now.

I lost 25 to 30 lbs already (about a pound a week), but lately I just stay the same weight.

I should probably exercise more, but not sure if that's realistic.

Anything I can eat or avoid eating to help keep me from feeling so hungry all the time?"

If I'm trying to lose weight and also gain muscle, does it help to drink protein shakes?

Most people get plenty of protein and really don't require a supplemental source.  If you LIKE protein shakes and find them convenient, you can make your own pretty easily.  It's generally best to get your nutrients from actual food if you can help it.The other thing to consider is how hard you're working and what else you're eating, especially since you're wanting to lose weight as well as adding muscle/strength.Make sure that the calories you do take in are earning their keep - lean protein, healthy fats, whole complex carbs, and lots of colorful vegetables and fruit.  If you're adding protein through a shake or powder, either to meet requirements or because it's convenient, make sure you're not adding a lot of calories or unwanted ingredients. The conventional wisdom seems to be that it's useful to consume something with protein within 30 minutes of a hard workout.  Before you go loading up, note that you don't need much, and it needs to be partnered with a little bit of carb action to really be helpful.  Buttermilk, yogurt, kefir, soy milk...lots of stuff fits the bill without breaking the bank. Here's a quick article that might be interesting for you:4 Myths About Protein and Working Out

Can starving myself help lose weight?

For some reason what ever I try or do I can't seem to lose weight or stay dedicated to trying to lose weight. I also don't have a gym that I can go to. Can starving myself help?

How much sugar can I have in my tea if I’m trying to lose weight?

Although water is generally considered the best way to satisfy your thirst -- tea, particularly unsweetened green tea -- is also a healthy choice. It’s an excellent source of antioxidant flavonoids, and drinking several cups of green tea a day has been associated with a significantly lower risk of dying from heart disease. While scientists haven’t reached a consensus as to whether or not green tea can enhance your weight loss efforts, drinking green tea in lieu of soda, sports drinks or other high-calorie beverages is undoubtedly a step in the right direction.Green Tea and Weight LossAside from any potential health benefits, green tea is an ideal beverage when you’re trying to lose weight -- with just 2 calories per cup, plain green tea is virtually calorie-free. Getting few or no calories from your beverages allows you to get your calories from nutrient-dense foods, which can help you sustain the calorie deficit needed to lose weight.Green tea has also been studied, with mixed results, for its potential impact on weight loss. While a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in 2005 found that the catechins in green tea may have a significant effect in helping your body burn fat more efficiently, a 2009 study published in International Journal of Obesity found that the catechins in green tea only have a small -- but positive -- effect on weight loss and weight management. Similarly, a meta-analysis of the scientific research on green tea published in the Cochrane Review in 2012 concluded that drinking green tea only leads to small, “statistically non-significant” weight loss in overweight and obese people, and doesn’t help people maintain weight loss.11 Most Effective Weight Loss Foods

Trying to lose weight, is it ness. to eat breakfast?

It is very important to eat breakfast, especially if you are trying to loose weight. Eating breakfast speeds up you metabolism for the day, and if consumed regularly can speed up your metabolism all together.

Even though you may not feel hungry in the morning it is important to "break the fast" that you have just gone through due to sleep.

If you eat a good healthy breakfast you will find yourself having more energy, and therefore burning off more kilojoules. You will also find that you will need less to eat at lunch and dinner because you started the day with a proper meal.

This is very important as much of the energy we receive from lunch and dinner can not be burnt off as quickly as breakfast. It sounds silly but the earlier you eat your food for the day the better. This increases the amount of time your body has to burn off the excess energy.

I suggest yogurts with no added sugar, and with less fat helps. Another often is muesli - not cereal. Many of these are full of sugar. Also be careful to make sure the muesli or bran you have is not toasted and does not have added sugar or honey. But as I said, yogurt and fruit is the best option.

Stay away from juices also, try to stick to water. Hope this helps!

Another tip which you may find helpful - smaller serving sizes will help you eat less. As does eating slowly. Your brain can take up to 20 minutes to register that you are full and have had enough. American serves of food are usually around 3 times what is needed for a healthy meal.

Eat smaller, eat slower and you will eat less. Good luck :)

Can drinking Gatorade help you lose weight?

To answer your first question, Gatorade is loaded with sugar. Try G2, Propel or even flavored sparkling water. Don't forget regular water also. My son used to drink a lot of soda and after switching to these he has trimmed down nicely.
You don't need weights. Besides walking/ jogging you can also do sit-ups, push-ups etc. Look up Cross-fit training online.
Good Luck!
