Help Want Feedback What Do You Think Of My Singing

What do you think of my singing voice?

What kind of play is it?  I would say you are neither naturally very talented nor bad.  I think there is potential, and I think regardless you should be willing to give it a try.  This way the teacher can hear and guide you. However, you definitely sound like you are pushing your voice and yelling.  Put simply, it sounds like you're trying too hard, having to strain.  You're going nasal and you're trying too hard to work the style of the song, without really singing.  I wasn't familiar with the song so I listened to the original.  There are times when there should be some notes held with natural vibrato kicking in and I don't hear any from you.  Maybe you can try posting something simple and not stylistic, to give a better idea of your skillset.  Even singing Happy Birthday will be beneficial in evaluating your natural singing voice.I'd recommend that you find a teacher to listen to you in person and help guide you.  Pushing your voice like that can damage your voice, and yelling like this through many play practices, if your teacher isn't vocally savvy but still lets you have a role just to be included, would not be good.  If you can just learn some basics of good vocal health, it would help.  I think you have a nice tone.  Wtih training, you'd be able to remove some of the nasality and sound much better.  I can hear potential, but definitely take some lessons and get training from a good vocal teacher.

Can someone please give me feedback on my singing and guitar playing?

Hey Saurabh, thanks for the A2A!First of all, kudos for putting yourself out there, it takes a lot of guts to let go of that self-consciousness and showcase others what you can do!Now, regarding the singing, you really need to put in a lot of work IMO. You seem to be struggling with getting the notes right in a number of phrases, and I suspect this is not a hearing issue (I saw your Norwegian Wood video and your pitch is quite fine there) but rather because you are straining massively in the middle part of your range (i.e. A3-D4). The latter, to me, is due to both your breathing and a closed throat - you do not seem to have enough air to support your notes, while you are not opening your mouth enough to allow enough space to resonate your sound easily, which causes you to strain and affects your diction massively as well.Instead of telling you to ‘breathe from the diaphragm’ and ‘sing from the diaphragm, not the throat’, like what most people will do although to me that advise does not help at all if no one is illustrating you, I will instead recommend you to lay down on the ground or bed, take a book, put it your belly, and just breathe without allowing your shoulders and neck area to raise or get engaged. If only the book is moving, then you are breathing correctly, and now imagine that sensation when you are singing, this time managing the air to ensure that you do not run out of it to be able to sustain your phrases. When you do so, try imagining a subtle yawn (without actually yawning, or else the tone will sound unnatural) as well because this will help open up the back of your throat to not allow constriction when you sing, and it will also improve the clarity of your diction massively. With regards to the guitar playing, the rhythm needs to be a little bit more fluid just like in the original. At the same time, I notice that some of your chords are incorrect and do not seem to harmonise with your singing as well (particularly “They sliver while they pass…” - the chord in that line should be, if I am not mistaken, an Em7) - getting the right chords first is a must, because it does not matter how nice your voice sounds if your chords are wrong - you are going to sound out of tune to the listener even if you are singing the melody in the correct pitch. That is all I can say. Keep practicing man!

Feedback on singing please. Can my voice be improved?

It sounds very awkward at points because I couldn’t nail the voice breaks lol. Did it in one take because I would only have the house to myself for another 10 minutes and I didn’t want anyone to hear me sing.

What do you think of my singing (a coldplay cover)?

hi,

your pretty OK but I'm sure you can do better, you should try to sing other songs besides coldplay to get more of an own sound. now you are trying to sound like them as well, but if you want to do something in this area you have to develop an own sound. also check out dropyourtalent.com ,there you also can try to get more exposure for your talent.

bye and good luck

My friends think I have a good singing voice but my parents think I don't... What should I do? Follow my heart or my parents?

You may take the positive inputs from your friends and at the same time analyse the reason for the negative feedback from your parents. Positive feedback is a motivating factor, which will help us in moving forward, whereas negative feedback is an important factor too for us to correct and develop ourselves on our way forward with perfection. So, you may analyse and work on this part. However, listen only to your heart and intuition. Because, as Steve Jobs said, only they (your heart & intuition) know what you want to become. If your heart asks you to sing..then do not stop it for anyone or for any reason..follow it, work on it sincerely..it will surprise your parents one day..

I hate my singing voice, please help!?

Best thing I can teach you is 1st, the pronunciation of your words is your best start. For ex; My momma made me eat my Oreos it will also help you with your high and low range. Figure what tone you are. Here is how you do it. Your normal voice is your tenner, which could be a baritone or a bass. If you sing higher like a hair band style then your more like an alto or soprano. Any ways your voice if goes out of your range with what ever it be, is falsetto (aka your fake voice). Take your tenner voice and count up as high as you can go. Getting higher by each number you go up, you will run out of numbers to go up in your voice(say around the number 12 or 13). That is your highest you can go in your range so try to figure out what each number or range is in your tenner and practice. Sing by pushing air out your diaphragm. It is different than what you are doing I bet 100% sure of this. Every one can sing. Just remember never to sing Bs Ps directly in to a mic or you get a popping sound. Learn how to breath between words. That will help you on your fine tuning along with the number thing I had mentioned. Hope this helps.

I enjoy singing, but I suck!?

I really like to sing, but in general i think I sound really bad. I want to take voice/singing lessons, but I can't... It cost too much money. One time I sent a voice recording to my friend, and she told me that I was "amazing".. Even though it made me feel good about my voice, but I don't believe her. In matter of fact, I want to start a YouTube channel, too. But what if people judge me saying that I'm bad, and my voice isn't good, or its untrained?! Lol im probably going to be hurt so... i dont know....why do I suck at singing, but yet I enjoy it?!!?
