Help With Job Resignation

Help with job resignation notice & letter...?

My job requires a notice of ten working days but I will have to leave before then. I want to give them as much notice as possible but 6 days is the best I can do. I also cannot talk to my boss about it - she is not an easygoing/understanding kind of person. Suggestions to include in my resignation letter would be great!

PLEASE HELP me write a resignation letter from a first job?!?

You should talk to your best friends parents first. Don't call them at home as this is a work issue. Talk to them first thing Sunday morning. Let them know that you like the job and appreciate that they gave you the opportunity and explain the transportation issue. Your resignation letter does not have to say why you are leaving per say, you discuss this with them in person. Once you've explained the issue they may even change your hours to accommodate the bus schedule so be open to that as well.

If they can't accommodate you with a new schedule you need to give them enough time to find someone so if they can be OK with you only having one more shift fine, but if they need the time let them know you'll stay on (as long as you'd like but at least a calendar month - 2 every other weeks). This is where the fact that they are your friend's parents come in, and it's what you do if you want a good reference from them also.

As to your letter - you can say something like...

"Dear Mr and Mrs Hartford,

I am writing to inform you that I am leaving my position as store clerk effective Nov 6, 2011. I have enjoyed working for Hartford foods and I thank you for the opportunity to work with you. I have learned many things during my stay and know that they will only help me in my next place of employment.

Regards,

John Smith"

As far as your friend - why are they going to be annoyed? This is business and friendship has no baring on it. But I get that you are teenagers, you both need to learn that lesson now as far as being in the work world. If you have been professional and leave in a professional way they should not be upset. Unless your friend is going to get up early and drive you or pay your way to work they should not be upset that you are giving notice.

How do I write a resignation letter?

Dear ________ (bosses name)

Thank you for the opportunity you gave me to work for you. I have enjoyed working with you and all of the staff here at Sears. I appreciate you all so much.

However, I regret that at this time I must give you my resignation because of a family difficulty/emergency. _____________ will be the last day I can work.

Thank you once again for your understanding.

P.S. If you are going to work for your sister, get her to write up a recommendation letter thanking you for making such a sacrifice to come work for her.

What are some of the best resignation letters?

Short and Simple as below:-Hello Sir, This email is to notify you that I am resigning from 'XXXX' as a 'XXXX' dated on 6th  Nov 2014. This wasn’t an easy decision for me, because I am grateful for the rewarding employment I’ve had with 'XXXX'.  But after long hours of consideration, I came with this decision. Please contact me if I can make the transition process proceed more smoothly.Warm Regards,ABC.

If you'd like to follow proper etiquette, then a BRIEF resignation letter is in store... It's really easy!

Here's a copy and pasted example from http://jobsearchtech.about.com/od/resume...

Dear Mr./Ms. Manager:

As you can see, it's short, easy and a generous formality...it'll take you less than a minute!

Best of luck! @(~_~)@

Resignation letter help? not getting enough shifts.?

Just wondering if you have actually discussed this with anyone from management? Are they aware of your dilemma? Are they aware that you require more hours? It would be worthwhile if you could have the courage to ask them the reason for your hours decreasing. Maybe it is something that you didn't know you were doing wrong or that management thought that you were ok with less hours. I have still included a simple resignation letter with a slight variation to make it appropriate for your situation, so i hope it will help you to keep it positive, professional yet simple and straight to the point.

Dear BOSS NAME,

As required by my contract of employment, I hereby give you two weeks' notice of my intention to leave my position as JOB TITLE.

I have decided that it is time to move on and I have accepted a position elsewhere. This was not an easy decision and took a lot of consideration. However, I am confident that my new role will help me to move towards some of the goals I have for my career.

Please be assured that I will do all I can to assist in the smooth transfer of my responsibilities before leaving.

I wish both you and CO. NAME every good fortune and I would like to thank you for having me as part of your team.
