Help With Motivation For Saving Money To Travel

If I can show you how to save money on your travel, would that make sense to you?

Maybe it will be where it depends on the way you say it or the way if it sounds convincing about saving money while travelling. But probably it would be nice if you mention it.

Does saving money inhibit one's motivation to make more money?

The answer is a simple no. Making more money will definitely help grow a person’s savings. People who save money for their future needs, thinks ahead. This is something positive and should be promoted instead of condoned. People who are used to this are always thinking about making more so they can save more. There are a lot of factors which explain why people save money. Some of which are as follows:The first consideration is what the money will be used for in the future. People normally want to save for something that they don't want to spend money on upfront. Goals are set for this so as not to break the bank during the process. Some examples of which are travel funds, retirement, rainy day or emergency fund, investment accounts, or just a plain generic savings account. The second one is the amount or cost. Most people who save money wants to have a specific amount stashed away. This normally helps keep them motivated to earn more money so they can hit their savings goal faster. The third one is time. A person knows when he will need such funds in the future. People tend to think of the long run for this. It’s difficult to save money in a very short time so you have limited funds. That triggers the need or want to earn more.So if you have followed the pattern, savings are one of the best motivating factors when it comes to earning more.

What is the one thing that I can do to save money and the environment?

Grow some vegetables in your back yard or even in a windowsill if you don’t have a yard. Every single vegetable you pluck from your yard saves fuel that would be needed to run a commercial farm, get the produce to market, operate storage and retail spaces, and the gas you’d use driving to get groceries. It needn’t be big. It’s spring, the best time to start is right now.

Which is more important, saving money to go traveling or to rent an apartment?

It seems  like this question was posted a while back...so I hope you actually packed your bags....and moved into that apartment.Ok..that was complete sarcasm....pack your bags and get you and your husband/wife on plane somewhere!! I mean think about it. When you have kids and they asked what you did in your mid 20's. What story sounds better? A) "I rented a really nice apartement...It was so cool it had a bathroom, bedroom and living room."ORB) "I flew to Peru with your Mom/Dad and we got to climb Manchu Pichu, it took us  5 days to get there but it was worth every scrape, bruise and blister (que to take out a cool photo). You were even created while we were on that trip."I think you get my point.Ok joking aside! Please go see the world!!An awesome quote from Mark Twain“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”(just a friendly remember this man was born in the 1800 and probably had to travel by boat with no air conditioner or shower or much medicine so people shouldn't complain about how difficult it is to travel)I understand the concerns about money and it is difficult, but you can always find deals if you look hard enough. I found tickets from New York > Milan > Barcelona > Amsterdam > Tokyo for $250 one way (and $550 one way from Tokyo to NYC). Yes this is a rarity, but if you wait and look hard enough you will find deals. And most importantly it will bring you and your wife closer together. Traveling will show both of you that ,although people are different from you, but  they are very similar: like either of you, they value family, friends and having a good time. Your breath will be taken away by the sights you see, your nose will smell things you haven't smelt before and you will eat things that you still dream about to this day (Gelatto for me in Rome).Ok, it's getting really late.....and I need to go to bed. My thoughts were quiet jumbled up so thanks for baring with me and I think you get the point.PS Remember to pack a camera for your travels!!!Have fun :)James

What motivates people to spend money to travel round the world as tourists when they can see the world with Youtube at minimal cost?

Is it? Then you could also try warming up your house with a youtube video showing a nice crackling chimney fire... If your restrain your experience to solely visual perception, than you tube is fine ...However... in substance... being there gives you more than a visual and audio treat ... You can relate with the places you visit and "physically" get sensations ... smell... sense the atmosphere... the range of feelings you get access to is way above a recorded video viewing... You interact with people for real. When you think about the memories left after visiting some places ... Is it not better to know that these are your personal reminiscence?Travelling is a learning, you can pretend to be familiarized  with any place across the world, but it is as limited as it is to be only knowledgeable by the book, very useful if you want to contest in quizz or impersonate some walking encyclopedia. I’ve been there, seen this, done that, nothing to boast about really, what matters is the emotions that lingers.. a priceless treasure IMHO...

The number one thing to save money on a trip?

Food and lodging. Buy groceries at a discount food store and make your own meals. You can make up sandwiches and picnic along the way. You can cook hot meals at roadside picnic areas for free. If you have a van or pickup with a topper, sleep in your vehicle while parking at a free location, such as a Walmart or large motel parking lot.

What is the best way to start saving up money?

Spare change in a glass jar is the age old way. If you want to be more aggressive, then you have to do some research on where you money is going.1st and foremost sit down and look at your overall budget. See where every dollar goes, and then look at where you have opportunity to cut back on certain expenses (ex. Eating out, buying new clothes, etc). This is where you need to “trim the fat”, and label you NEEDS vs WANTS.2nd look around your house, in your attic, even parents house and look for items you can sell online potentially. I myself was able to sell some old video games, and consoles and made a quick $2k in a month. From there I reinvested the money in myself, and took a small portion to try and sell more things online.3rd Offer to do odd jobs for money. You’d be surprised how many people would be willing to pay for someone to cut their grass, hell even clean their pool. There is lots of opportunity around your community to make an honest dollar for hardwork.Which all of this revolved around “hard-work”. Im not saying you have to work like crazy, but work smarter.Find your “Why” in all this too. What is the financial goal for you? That will help with the motivation when you feel like your running in circles with this financial journey.Best of luck to you!

I want to travel the world. I am from india. I have no money . how can I earn and travel?

If you have no money there is very little you can do, if nothing, so to speak!I am also assuming that you have no issue with English. In such light I suggest you start visiting an English speaking country first. Australia, United Kingdom, (And New Zealand) have some "Working Holiday Plans" they have been successfully implementing for quite sometime. You can find some work in a Hospitality Industry and make some money to meet your costs. You do, however need some money to buy your Airline Ticket and enough to keep you going until such time you found a Job. That said, first and foremost you need to obtain a visa allowing you to work. And this is meant to be 'Working Holiday'. You must bear this in mind! Will you be able to get it? Again it is up to the authorities of the countries you wish to enter into. You might meet the criteria or you might not. If you have a recognized qualification, you might succeed. But nothing can be worse to land in a country with no money at all. Nowadays, when you go to any Western country the first thing they ask you is your residential status, whatever your aim is. To be more precise you cannot go to those countries and look for a work. It is virtually impossible to my best knowledge unless you have already obtained some work permit in the country you wish to spend some time.If Travelling is the main motivation for you, you must save some money first. Go to the countries where the cost of living is cheap. For instance you can try Thailand, Philippines, Fiji and Indonesia the places I found pretty cheap. For Europe or the USA it can work out very expensive unless you can legally put your foot into one of those countries with a view to earning some money. In any case, in any event you need to save up at least, US$5,000.00 before making any move. This would be my advice to you. Always think twice before making any move.Best of luck!
