Any ideas i have to make my own scarlet letter?

LMAO, we just finished this last week, we had to make one and wear it all week on our necks ( only the ppl in AP Language) and others would be asking about the letters..but anyways...

What does the Scarlet Letter mean to Pearl and what affects does it have on her?

For Pearl, the Scarlet Letter defines her mother. Towards the end when Dimmesdale and Hester meet in the woods, Hester rips off the scarlet letter. When Pearl comes upon them, she does not recognize Hester without the letter and demands that she put it back on.

Hawthorne is basically saying that mankind cannot be separated from its sinful nature. You can try to run away from it or "take it off" but it will follow you simply because sin is in the heart.

Pearl also makes the connection between Hester's A and Dimmesdale. When Hester asks her what she thinks it means, Pearl simply replies that it's the same reason that Minister Dimmesdale clutches his chest every now and then. Pearl may not know exactly what the A stands for, but she knows it connects Hester to Dimmesdale.

The scarlet letter itself isn't in basic terms a letter denoting sin; the letter denotes society's reaction to sin. Hester wears a letter of one style--observe how she has embroidered it in a skillful vogue that reflects her character. Pearl, too, has designed a letter--a seaweed one--that places Pearl's spin on the message of the letter--that freedom from sin lay contained in the sea and previous.

The word is 'shy' and there are many reasons to be shy. When you are unsure about yourself or others and keep your feelings inside until you overcome and become stronger and allow others to enter your inter-circle of family & friends. You will first appear shy, and this is normal, everyone was shy on their first day of school, during the first year of ever seeing a classroom with many others they may not have seen before.

To be reserved on certain occasions is okay for what you say and do, this is a very good defense mechanism, that gives comfort in the form of safety. This is a growing process, that hopefully is somewhat grown out of. But if overly done they almost always shies away from others who may have been a prospective good helping friend.
