Help With My Play Costume

Help with s lut wear costume!?

If you have to be a slutty GHOST, then pick someone famous who is now dead. Then, dress up like they would, but play up the dead part with make-up and ghoulish effects.

I know it's fun to play slutty on Halloween, but why not use the opportunity to show off the fact that you thought about your costume a little (i.e. you have brains to back up your body.) Also, an inventive costume is a great conversation starter!

What costume should a slave wear for a play?

A typical house slave, whether male or female, generally wore a tunic with a rope belt around the waist. A tunic is like a long shirt, it goes down to about mid-thigh to knee with either thonged sandals or rope sandals. Some slaves didn't wear shoes. The color of the tunic depended on the house they were in servitude to. Typically it was white or light blue. Some slaves wore different colors, it depended on how rich the family was that they were in servitude for. Rich families had their own house colors because they could afford to buy colored fabric.

The hair can be just about any way you want it. Females wore it up to keep it out of their face while they worked or in a long braid. Higher slaves, ones that worked with the mistress of the house and were constantly following her tended to wear theirs up and nicely decorated. The reason for this was because they were her slaves and they represented her. If they looked bad, it made her look bad.

Females tended to show more flesh then males, but that depended on what their duties were. Regular house slaves wore the tunics but some had different duties where they wore nothing but a thin, sheer fabric that just draped over them, leaving one or both breasts exposed. These slaves were often used at parties to walk around in nothing but decorated in flowers or paint or in just a short skirt and painted breasts. These slaves were often used for the bedroom so their entire duty was to just appear pleasing and provide service in the bedroom. Males that were used for the bedroom wore about the same thing, typically naked or just walk around in a sheer piece of fabric around their waist that left their genatailia exposed.

Hope that answered your question.

How do I make a sheperd's costume for school play?

i went and bought some fabric that looked like the shepherd's clothing i'd seen in biblical pictures (enough to go up the front of the child and back down their backs). then i just cut a hole in the middle of the fabric and tied a rope around the waist. (i let the rope hang down). add some brown sandals and a shepherd's hook and voila! luckily this was an easy costume to come up with quickly! good luck

Where can i get a fagin costume for the play oliver?

i set my Oliver in the 1950's so there is not hard and fast rule about sets nowadays (unless it's necessary to the story)

you'll find that anything goes but if you wanna remain authentic to the era you'd best example examples on line and try to replicate them using your own wardrobe and other stores/hire places.

fingerless gloves are useful as is a big old moth eaten coat. allow yourself a small piece of expensive jewelry to show that he has some means despite his appearance,

hope it helps!

My son was cast as a Rabbi in his school play. How can I costume him as respectfully as possible?

There is really nothing that specifically is rabbi garb.Rabbis generally wear the same things that the members of their congregation wear. This means that in ultra-orthodox congregations the rabbi will be wearing the long black coat and special hat (which specific type of hat depending on the particular community), just like the rest of the male members of his congregation. In most other congregations the rabbi will wear a suit and a yarmulke.Sometimes the rabbi will wear something slightly more formal than the typical congregant, or something that carries a subtle cultural signal that he comes from a more strictly religious background than most of the others in the community - though usually a few of the other guys there will also be wearing something similar, because of their own background. And sometimes you'll have a rabbi who wears an ordinary business suit and a meaningful percentage of his congregants will wear the black garb of the ultra-orthodox because that's the synagogue they go to for geographic or other reasons. But it is always true in every congregation that if you lined up all the male members of the congregation you couldn't pick out the rabbi specifically by any special particular thing that is Rabbi garb. And in some reform and conservative congregations there are women who are rabbis and they were pretty much what the women in the congregation wear.

Where can I find a Chuckie (Child's Play) costume for my 2 year old?

Love this idea. You can't find an actual costume but its not that hard to put together. All the Chucky costumes that are out are for adults which is kinda lame.

Head out to Walmart, Kmart, even Goodwill. Where ever you want to buy clothes from. Buy some over alls, a multi stripe shirt (I've seen very similar in the Walmart boys section, but you'll have really good luck at goodwill! ours has aisles full of stripe shirts!) and some red Chuck Taylor style sneakers. Walmart has generic versions for cheap. I love Walmart and Goodwill when I put together costumes, they're the best.

For an added fun touch, do you have a printer? Buy some iron on transfer printer paper and create a "Good Guys" Logo to print on the front of the over alls.

Okay so chuck taylor style shoes aren't exactly the same but they're close enough. I can't find them on the walmart website but these are like the ones I'm talking about:

You'll be able to find those pretty much any where!

It'd be cute if the shirt you bought was too long and you cant some of it off and sewn it to the cuffs of the pants like in the picture.

Also at places like Walamrt and other stores with sewing and craft sections you'll find small iron on patches. I've seen tiny truck ones at Walmart. I'm sure you can find some little tools and things in places. You can also do that with iron on transfer paper too. You can probably find alphabet patches too and do the Good Guy logo in those.
Found a hammer one:

They've got other cute ones too that could work.

I wouldn't do the modern chucky with the stitches and cuts on his face, that would be too hard getting the baby to sit still. You could take a brown eyeliner pencil and dot on a few freckles like old school chucky. Fake knife, red wig...cutests costume ever!
