Help With My Truck Temerature Sensor.

Can a broken coolant temperature sensor make my 98 F-150 not run right?

Yes...a non-working or faulty CHT (Cylinder Head Temperature) temp sensor will send the wrong signal to the computer or none at all as to what temp the engine/head is which the computer relies on to provide the proper fuel mix ratio for a given parameter based on engine temp...thereby causing the truck to run rough. I think 98's used two sensors...one in head and one under intake.
Check the sensor again or replace with another...it might be defective or the wrong one. Make sure the wires to the plug are spliced correctly. Test for power at the plug and the correct micro-volt reading if possible.....consult a repair manual or Eautorepair.net has online access to factory repair info...small fee.

Where is the air temperature sensor located at on a 2001 gmc sierra?

are you looking for the outside air temp. sensor or the inside air temp.sensor ?
the inside air temp. tells the hvac control module what the cabin temp. is .... and it's located in the headliner on the left side right above your left ear,, it has a built in fan..and sometimes you hear it buzzing.
As to outside sensor its in the grill area.

hope this helps

Where is the outside temperature sensor on a 2015 or 2016 freight liner cascadia?

I m a company driver so don t tell me to get an apu I want to remove the temperature sensor so I can idle all night please help and if it is not accessible how do I completely disable idle shut down even with optimized idle please help !!!!!!!!

Why does my car's temperature get high when I turn the AC on?

Assuming that the auxiliary fan (s) come on when the A/C is on, There are several reasons that the temp gauge rises….Is your temp gauge accurate? Most car companies have the dash gauge designed to go to the middle of it’s sweep and stay there, unless the engine gets really hot, they usually just goes to the middle and sits there, as long as the coolant temperature is between 70 C and 100C. They make them like that so that the consumer doesn’t see it moving around on a regular basis, that way, when it does go up, it gets noticed quicker. To determine if yours is accurate, or if it’s the kind that just sits there until something goes really wrong, an OBD2 code reader talks to the temp sensor that the engine’s ECU ( Engine Control Unit )… If the reader shows the temperature rising, but the dash gauge doesn’t budge.. then you know..Let’s assume that your gauge IS accurate… When you turn on the A/C , several factors now come into play. First, you’ve just placed a ( slightly) higher load on the engine, which is now burning more fuel, and creating a bit more heat. Secondly, that fan that just started spinning? Yup, it’s electrically powered, which means the Alternator is now needing more power from the engine.. A bit more fuel, a bit more heat created for the engine’s cooling system. Thirdly, all that energy ( Heat ), that the A/C has removed from the car’s interior .. Guess where it’s going?.. To it’s own little radiator, properly called a condenser coil, and that’s located right in front of the radiator. So now you have hotter air than before passing through the car’s radiator.Thermostats don’t “pop” open and closed, they open a bit as the coolant temperature gets to the design spec of the cooling system. They don’t open to full flow for at least another 10 C.Thermal efficiency.. As a radiator gets older, scale buildup on the inside of the tubes inhibits the transfer of heat to the air passing over the fins.Add all these together, and you have the reason that the temp gauge moves when you turn on the A/C..

What could be the cause of a car’s temperature gauge to fluctuate?

There are several possibilities.1) faulty teperature gauge. In this case the gauage will have to be replaced. This is relarively simple and inexpensive depinding on the make and model of the car.2) Issue with the radiator, coolant of the car. This could be caused due to insufficient coolant, leakage of coolant, damage to the radiator of the car. This will require extensive repair. In this case, it is advised to get the issue diagnosed and fixed at the earliest to avoid engine damage due to over heating.Hope this helps. :)

What color is the coolant/temperature sensor wire on a 89 mazda b2200 pickup?

I have a block diagram of this truck: looks like the signal return from coolant sensor to eng. control module is-GREEN w/WHITE STRIPE and reference wire to sensor is BROWN w/BLACK STRIPE!

Ford f150 coolant temperature sensor problem?

I have an 89 F150 FWD 4.9L that broke down about a week ago. It was running great than it stalled, started throwing black smoke and then died. It was getting too much fuel. I replaced the fuel regulator valve, Modulator, distributor cap, coil, and fuel filter, Fuel pressure is great.

Finally, I replaced the engine coolant temperature sensor and it ran great for about and hour and 20 minutes until it stalled out and did the exact same thing.
Anyone out there have any idea what is wrong?
