Help With My Wedding Ceremony

How to use two preachers in my wedding ceremony?

Most ministers have done weddings with more than one officiant so it may be better to talk to each of them about it. Only one of them though will be signing your marriage license.

One could do readings or a small sermon, the other does the exchanging of the vows. One can even do your vows to your husband and the other can do the vows from your husband to you.

My fiance and I are having 2 pastors at our wedding ceremony. We're getting married at his family church which is a Methodist church and my family church is a Wesleyan church which is actually a branch of the Methodist church so it all works out that way. My pastor is doing the first half (likely the small sermon or something similar) and his is doing the rest. They've actually been in contact with each other for it.

When do you blow out the Unity Candle for a wedding ceremony?

The ushers usually do it when they're cleaning up to bring things to the reception hall

Need help finding songs for wedding ceremony.?

I used Disney songs from the Disney Fairy Tale Wedding cd when the guests were being seated. I used Jim Brickman "If you believe." The mothers walked in to Kenny G "The Wedding Song" and the groomsmen walked in after them to the same song. They went in individually. The bridesmaids and flower girl used Air on the G String from the Acousic Wedding cd. I used Canon in D by Jeff Pike Barlow. You can find all these songs on Itunes.......I purchased the ones that I wanted and then made the DJ a cd in case he doesn't have or can't find the music. Good luck and happy planning!

How to announce that my wedding is a "closed" ceremony?

You send invitations to those that you wish to invite, and you say absolutely nothing to those that you do not plan to invite. Normal people will get the hint that they're not invited when they do not receive an invitation.

A church is a house of worship for the community, therefore it can't be closed off during your service. If people take it upon themselves to show up to your wedding ceremony despite the fact that you did not send them any sort of invitation, then that's not your problem. You are not required to host people at your reception if they just show up uninvited.

You CANNOT invite someone to the wedding but not to the reception. That's incredibly rude. If you invite them to the ceremony then they MUST be invited to the reception as well. If you're not planning on feeding them then just don't invite them at all, and if they take it upon themselves to show up then that's not your responsibility.

It's O.K. to to the reverse, though (invite them to the party but not the wedding itself). But if you invite someone to your wedding then you are required to feed them afterward.

I've heard of situations where it's understood that the entire congregation is invited to watch the ceremony, and afterward there's a 1-hour reception in the church basement with light refreshments (coffee, cake or cookies, fruit or cheese platters) where the newlyweds quickly thank everyone for their good wishes and then they go to the reception hall and have the regular dinner with their actual invited guests. But I'm guessing that won't work here since your reception is also in the church.

Why would they just show up uninvited to your reception? Is that common in your area? Are people really that rude that they'd just show up to a wedding reception uninvited? You shouldn't be required to feed a bunch of strangers who just show up looking for a free meal.

I don't see the harm in non-invited guests going to the ceremony to wish you well - one of my coworkers came to the church to see me at my wedding, and a bunch of my mom's coworkers did the same, and I thanked them all in the receiving line and wrote thank you notes to a few people who brought a small gift - but it's bizarre to me that they'd just waltz into the party uninvited and expect you to feed them.

I would talk to your minister and see how this situation is typically handled in your church.

Can anyone please help with my pagan wedding vows?

I'm having a humanist wedding due to the place where I am wanting the ceremony to be conducted not having a marriage venue license, and is really not likely to get one, despite the cost of the application alone being stuck at £1,500.
However this really doesn't bother me as I have always wanted something similar to a pagan wedding as the spiritual Earth respecting beliefs shown in paganism and wicca are the only ones that I feel I can connect with.
When I decided this I went searching for wedding vows and I saw the most beautiful set of vows (originally called hand7 or handfasting 7) on this website -
http://handfasting.org/
which included blessings from the bridesmaids, groomsmen and from the cardinal directions, which I loved the idea of. I really liked the idea of getting my whole wedding party becoming more involved in the actual ceremony itself, and wanted to base my own wedding vows around them.
Unofrtunately it's disappeared from the website and I cannot find anyway of contacting the person who created it. Would anyone please please please be able to either find a way of doing this or possibly tell me what set of wedding vows they were?
Any help will be very much appreciated.
