Help With Pc Ram Upgrade

Can I upgrade this RAM?

That's a 1GB stick of DDR-333 (PC 3200) (old DDR 1) memory. You need to know how much memory your motherboard can accept and what the largest module size that it can understand.

Either look up your motherboard on it's manufacturer's website or you could try something like the system scanner on Crucial's website: http://www.crucial.com/uk/systemscanner/

Of course though you don't have to buy the memory from them, you might get a better price somewhere else if you shop around.

Upgrading PC RAM help fast?

Hey guys,

I just wanted some help about RAM (Random Access Memory).
I have recently purchased a new PC: HP COMPAQ 8000 ELITE SERIES SMALL FORM FACTOR!
It's a good pc but nothing more!
SPECS:
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 3.0 GHz with vPro Technology
2GB of DDR3 1333MHZ RAM (2X1GB Sticks)
250GB HARD DISK SPACE
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

I also have a laptop which has an i5 with 4 GB of RAM and the game i mostly play everyday is called "LEAGUE of LEGENDS" runs really really good at the laptop !!! The problem is that this pc does not run the game as good as the laptop !!

So i decided to add some ram !!!

1) Will adding some ram [2GB(i have) + 4GB(i will install)=6GB] make the game run better???
2) I have 4 slots. The two black slot are filled with the 2 gb of ram. I have order and waiting for a RAM stick (4GB Kingston DDR3 1333MHz). Is it possible to install all the 3 sticks??? If yes, explain how!
If no, help me decided what can i do with "2 sticks of 1 GB RAM" and "1 stick of 4GB RAM"

It' really importand so i hope you will help me as fast as possible!

Thank you

PC Ram Upgrade Trouble?

I have a slimline Emachine desktop computer running Windows 7 Home Premium. My model number is EL1352G-01W. I have purchased it a year ago from Walmart with 2 gb of ram installed on it with a 2.8 ghz AMD processor on it. I have installed from 2 gb to 5 gb of ram on it and it only has 2 slots for ram. Emachine said that its only capable of having the most of 4 gb of ram on it, but yet, i installed 5 gb, 1 more gb of ram "capable"of having. So I would love to know, may I upgrade to 8 gb of ram to my PC?

Ram upgrade on My computer? HELP! 10 POINTS!!?

4Gb max

http://reviews.cnet.com/desktops/lenovo-...

you can't hope something that are not meant to be.

Your link is not working, but you could check this:
http://www.crucial.com/upgrade/Lenovo-me...
Check your current ram, match its clock speed. If its PC3-8500, get the same one. No need to spend more money since the pc will work at the slowest clock out of the 2 ram.

By adding another ram, your dual channel will activated. It will make your clock speed twice faster than your old one.

In my own opinion (probably wrong), Win 8 were meant to optimized the pc that has more than 4 cores. Since yours only have 2 core 4 threads core, i think it would actually slowed your pc performance when crunching heavy load. It would give the same effect as putting win 7 on a 1 core 1 thread pc. But its just me, your cpu has 4 threads, which might work effectively with win 8.

Desktop RAM Upgrade?!?!?!?

Computer RAM upgrade!?
Acer X1420G-U5832 RAM Upgrade?!?
I bought this computer and I want to upgrade RAM from 4gb to 8gb. Walmart's catalog says that it can be upgraded to 8gb but Acer says that 4gb is the max. I contacted them and they said because its a new PC they do not have a manual for it. My question is: Has anyone performed a RAM upgrade with this machine? its a 64-bit OS so it is capable of more than 4gb.

My computer only has ONLY TWO SLOTS and are being used with 2gb each. can i take them out and replace them with two 4GB ones, thank you for your time and patience

Why do I need 8gb of RAM, because I need to render videos using a quad core computer, splitting 1gb of ram to each core, 2gb for OS and 2gb for for the program to use. This program is Adobe After Effects CS5.5 it is a RAM hungry program. Also I have already upgraded the Graphics card

Will it help if I upgrade to 4GB RAM on a Core 2 Duo that currently has 1GB?

Certainly. My old C2D has exactly 4GB and i am still thinking of adding another 2 or 4GB.With only 1GB you can maybe run linux + non memory hungry software and experience no slowdowns but the moment this 1GB is used (eg. by having a browser on with 5 tabs + a large spreadsheet) you will experience severe slowdowns as your computer is substituting Hard Drive space for RAM (swap space). If you run out of swap space too, results are going to be really problematic. If you were running windows, better not even think of using 1GB ram for any version higher than WinXP.With 4GB RAM on the other hand, you should be able to handle all windows and linux distros, + basic tasks (browsing, office, video playback, light gaming) and if you are careful with your ram use, even more.Speaking from experience, the processor can hold its own so long as you aren’t playing video games from 2015+ or doing very specific CPU-heavy tasks (video editing, HEVC playback, CAD, etc.)

Will upgrading RAM help to speed up my laptop?

The single most effective upgrade for the money is adding RAM. It is important to get what your board is designed to run and you should have matching so-dimm’s. If you are not sure what kind you need, head on over to Crucial.com - DRAM, solid state drive (SSD) memory upgrades for Dell, Mac, Apple, HP, Compaq, Lenovo, Acer, ASUSThey have legally obtained the identification stings that identifies your motherboard, what type of memory, how many slots, and the maximum the board can handle per manufacurers specs. On the homepage, you can find the link to download the software. It's very small and non intrusive. Been using it for years and has not failed me yet, and I have worked on thousands of machines.I had an i3 some time back and yes they are a little dated, but it all depends on what you want to do. Standard surfing and business apps will run just fine but if you are doing more intensive things like Catia, you will absolutely need to upgrade.Final note, if you upgrade the RAM, and swap out the hard drive with a solid state, you will not believe it is the same machine. I'm talking 25 second boot times from a cold start, and that is being conservative. (You can also get SSD’s from Crucial). No, I don't work for them. Just passing along what works.

Is upgrading from 4GB to 8GB of RAM worth it for a web developer (PC has an Intel Core i5-3317u)?

Is upgrading from 4GB to 8GB of ram worth it as a web developer (PC has intel core i5-3317u)?You mentioned upgrading, leading me to believe you already have a rig with 4GB of RAM. Here’s the real question that you should be investigating to obtain the answer to your concern/question: The 4GB of RAM you have now, is it enough to properly simultaneously run? If the answer is no, then you need to look into upgrading. If 4GB is just barely enough, upgrade to more comfortably run your programs. If you’re not even at 50% RAM usage, upgrading to 8GB would likely be a waste.RAM primarily dictates the number of programs you can run simultaneously. What should I upgrade to speed up my computer, RAM, CPU or an SSD?

Assumming all you had to do was plug and play (more or less)?SSD cheapest, CPU most expensive, RAM you may not notice.SSD - assuming you are using only HDDs currently, migrating to SSD will immediately show you dividends in perceived speed. Load times are slashed, and you’ll wonder how you ever lived without a nice SSD. :)CPU - assuming it can just be dropped into your motherboard and configured, and everything is going to play nice with the new piece, you will most likely notice a nice speed bump if your new CPU is decently faster. For example - 2nd Gen Sandybridge CPUs (my most recent experience) - if I had a low end i5 running at 2.7 ghz speed, and then upgraded to an i7 2600k running at 3.4 ghz speed, I’ll wager you’ll sit bolt upright and notice the difference in performance. :D However if you upgraded from an i5 2500k to the i7, the difference is only 100ghz which, while nice, isn’t nearly as great a jump in speed.RAM - more RAM just makes everything run more smoothly, and not perceptibly faster.
