Help With Starting Modelling Career

How to start a modeling career?

At 14, she's just old enough to start being considered by real agencies. If she's 5'6" or 5'7"+, and a very small size (00-4), then she can start submitting to major agencies.

She can google these modeling agencies:

DNA
IMG
Storm (UK)
LA Models
Ford
Elite
Wilhelmina
One
Click

She'll then follow their submission guidelines.

If no callback, she can look around for local agencies. She should remember that you should NEVER EVER drop a ton of money on a book (portfolio) or classes. A legit agency will teach you what you need to know and will get you pics at a low cost.

If she's nott tall enough but has a gorgeous face/smile, then she can look into commercial agencies. She can Google for the SAG website and look for SAG agencies in your area. She will have to pay to get headshots made, but it should be independent of the agency, not as part of any 'package'.

How can start a modeling career in China?

no no and no. i think you should do a LOT more research before you think about any career; unfortunately by being short, you already dont qualify for this job. at 14, you are very close to your maximum height, if not already at your maximum height, so you wont get much taller. also, most fashion models and editorial models (which is what you are talking about) start their careers at 12 or 13 and they must be 5'9 at THAT age; if youre not 5'8 by now, you will never be tall enough to be a model. i know mny girls think that being tall is only required for the runway, but thats not true- to be in magazines or catalogs, you must be tall, thin and have the right proportions and measurements and have really long legs. and about magazines that "do photo shoots", yes- they all do. the problem is, you would have to be signed with a top agency to get a job or even an interview (go-see) for a job like that, and agencies do not sign shorter girls. its a myth that girls just grow until theyre 18 or 20- thats true for guys but not women, unfortunately. im 5'11 and 26 years old, and have been at this height since i was 13, when i started modeling. modeling is on of the toughest fields in the world to get into, so you cant just go to a place and have pictures taken of yourself- this is a business, and only the most qualified girls get jobs- and the qualifications are 90% physical
EDIT: do NOT contact the guy above!!! he is either a pedophile or a scam artist- remember that NO real agency or agent will EVER show an interest in you without knowing what you look like, your measurements and your height. how could he possibly know what potential, if any, you have for a career that is based solely on looks if hes never seen you?? whatever you do, do not get in contact with him- i promise you hes either trying to scam money from you or worse,; these sleazeballs are EVERYWHERE!! no legit agency will ever sign a girl whos shorter than 5'8 for the work youre talking about, nor would they ever sign a girl and ask for money of any kind, so watch out. its a very dangerous business and about 90% of the "opportunities" and "agents" out there are scams- and thats not just me saying this- its an actual proven study

Where to start male modeling career?

I'm a 17 year old guy and I get my braces off next month. I'm over 5'11 (JUST under 6') and about 145-150 Ibs. I've been told by friends and family members that i could really do male modeling, which is something i'm VERY interested in. I'm just concerned about where I should start. I'm from Virginia and the only well know modeling agency around is Modeligic Wilhelmina. I don't know if i should go to one of their open calls, or if i should apply to one of the major modeling agencies in New York? If I were to sign with Modelogic, would i be able to apply to other agencies-or be able to cancel at Modelogic if I were "chosen" by another agency? I just want to make the right choice as to where i apply. And if i were "chosen" by an agency in New York, would i have to move there? or travel there a lot? Because I'm still in high school (Senior). OR if i were signed to an agency in New York, could I just start this summer after I graduate????? I really want to be a SUCCESSFUL male model. Sorry I have so many questions! Please share any other info that would be helpful! Thanks, guys!

How do I start a career in modelling in Mumbai India?

Trust me , if you are good enough you don't even need a portfolio. My friends have got a call from big ad agencies ( genuine, FMCG) as they came across his OLX, or other social sites profiles. . You can take some good photographs though, a freelancer photographer would be fine. But here is my suggestion, are you sure about it? Is it your passion or justĀ  fad, please make yourself clear about it before deciding to skip your education line. Trust me , this life might be a very struggling one , frustrating when you do not get what you have wanted. And are you clear where you want to be? Become an actor, or any other option when you get old. ? I mean , before deciding anything please just go through your whole future once and come back and decide. Don't do it because friends and relatives told you, they are not going to live your life, do it because you want it. Take some good photographs . These days digital would also do. Approach ad or marketing agencies. You can work part time on clicking photos from Ecommerce companies , for ads. etc.
