Helping Finding The Name Of A Tv Show I Watched As A Child

As a parent watching TV with your children, what kids TV shows do you hate the most? Why those shows?

Great question - my kids are almost adults and this has struck a nerve.I’m torn between the Tweenies and Barney.Tweenies: Incredibly annoying theme song with whistles and bangs and off key singing that makes you wince, especially when lacking sleep, which for me was all the time. The colours of the live action puppets were really garish, another assault on the senses if the soundtrack wasn’t enough. Storylines were incredible dull and mundane eg the clock stops working. A couple of the characters were real complainers and never stopped saying they didn’t like things , in fact one of my daughters favourite episodes was called “I Don’t Like That”.Barney: I mean where do I start. Almost everything about Barney is annoying. He is huge and slow, he has an incredibly stupid nasal voice and takes an age to get a phrase out, or move across the set. He is always dancing, but can’t dance. Again the storylines were mind-numbingly banal but in contrast to the Tweenies they were horribly positive, everyone was always happy, ecstatic almost. Also, he was meant to be a dinosaur, there are so many interesting things about dinosaurs they could have made a story about, but chose to make him this dullard. Nothing funny, no fantasy. Watching it was like a having your teeth pulled.

What non-children's TV show do you find the most boring? Why do you find it so boring?

Modern shows (in this case “made for TV" movies): It's got to be all the sappy and somewhat cheesy Christmas movies that are broadcast on the Hallmark channel. That kind of movies are just not my cup of tea. My wife watches those things ad nauseam, and I just use it as a time for me to catch up on my Quora. Most boring of all time: I can come up with a few.“Sleepy Hollow"- Ichabod Crane (who didn't look anything like the character portrayed in the original stories) somehow jumps ahead to the 21st century and meets up with the sheriff of a “town" (there is no such thing, at least in modern times. Sheriff of a COUNTY yes, but not a TOWN. Sorry I'm a stickler for details) and proceeds to hunt down these ghosts or whatever they are. Yeah. Sure. Happens all the time.“Ghost Whisperer"-eveyday housewife/ small business owner who talks to ghosts all the time. At least Jennifer Love Hewitt made it worth watching.“Murder She Wrote”-stuffy British novelist comes into a town, and then a murder just happens to occur once she gets into town. Then to make matters worse she goes about trying to solve the murder, doing the cops' job for them. Can't the cops solve the murder themselves? They have to have this writer come along and solve it for them? Maybe I found this show boring because I never liked Angela Lansbury I don't know. In any case ii think watching paint dry would be more exciting.

What is a children's show that you find to be actually entertaining to watch?

There have been a few over the years and I have to admit that I’ve been lucky in that my children have never liked anything I couldn’t stand. My daughter absolutely adored Bear in the Big Blue House (TV Series 1997–2006) - IMDb The songs were cute and it was a wonderful show.My son used to run around the house with a crayon and a notebook looking for clues. He loved Blue's Clues (TV Series 1996–2007) - IMDbBut my favorite has to be Phineas and Ferb (TV Series 2007–2015) - IMDb This show was smart and funny. There are a ton of inside jokes for every geeky fan out there and it is just done well. Hey, where’s Perry?

Help finding scary 90s kid show/movie! Kid stuck in coffin with a tarantula spider.?

Sounds like Are You Afraid of The Dark that came on Nickelodeon in the 90's

Do you watch the TV show "Bates Motel"?

I'm a huge fan of the movie Psycho, one of my favorite thrillers/slasher films so I'm really excited about Bates Motel. I think Freddie Highmore is a great choice for Norman Bates and with Vera Farmiga as such a convincing psychopathic, controlling mother, its no wonder Norman gets so screwed up. So far I think the show has been off to a good start and I can't wait for it to pick up. If you like the show I highly recommend watching Psycho if you havent seen it
