Hey Guys So My Mouse Was Working Fine Until Last Night. It Says Usb Not Recognized And Now My Usb

USB Device (Wireless mouse) Not recognized? (No answers from other questions on here has helped)?

Hey,

So I have a 'Labtec Wireless Optical Mouse 1000 For Notebooks' wireless mouse and it's been working fine for the past few months, but recently it doesn't seem to work on my laptop, it comes up with a message 'Device is not recognized' and under Device Manager it says 'Unknown Device' with a yellow exclamation mark next to the item, on propeties of the item it says 'Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43).'

First off I tried fiddling around with it on the device manager but I couldn't do anything, so I looked for help on Yahoo Answers.

I think I've tried everything suggested:

I restarted my laptop (It worked ONCE last night but I've tried 100's of times since then)
I pressed 'Disable' and then 'Enable'
I changed the USB port it was in
I checked the mouse was working (it works on my computer but not my laptop)
I pressed 'Update Driver Software' but it's up to date
I uninstalled it and went onto the site to re-install software, but it doesn't come with any

Also when it was on my computer sometimes it freezes, but when it was working on my laptop for hours last night it was completely fine.

Does anybody have any further suggestions? Any help would be really appreciated :)
Thanks

Mouse won't install?

I had the same problem when I installed my wireless mouse and keyboard, when I looked further into it I discovered that the software was not the latest. They commonly give you the software that it was manufactured for and if it has been on the market for more then 3 months it's outdated.

What I did was go to the manufacturer's site and downloaded the new drivers and it loaded just fine.

Go to your control panel, add/remove programs, delete the mouse program you just loaded and then reload it with the new drivers from the website.

Because you have not stated which manufacturer it is made by, I can't look the site up for you, but you can probably find it through goggle, just make sure you go to the manufacturer's official site, not someone else's so you can be sure of a clean download.

Ahh you just updated your question, it's a vista issue, there are a lot of programs that don't run with vista, hopefully the manufacturer has the vista upgrade on their site, you need to find out, vista does not play well with other hardware and software.

Good Luck!

I just looked for you, Sony doesn't have a very user friendly site at all, I'm glad I have a Dell.

Anyway what I did find out is your pc is a new model with duel core and has vista on it. So if the mouse came with it, the software you have should work, just uninstal it and then re-install it again sometimes during installation files don't copy over properly and this will fix it. If it doesn't contact sony your computer is still new enough that they will fix it for you.

What is the creepiest thing that has happened to you while on a computer?

A number of years ago, I was using an on-line chat site and got talking to a woman who claimed to live around 50 miles from me. We chatted quite happily for a couple of days, then on the third day - a Saturday night - she was on-line and we were chatting, but she seemed different somehow. Something just didn’t seem right, but I couldn’t put my finger on it. She explained that she was drinking and I assumed that this was the reason behind the melancholy. We continued chatting and she put on a cam so I could see her there drinking as we chatted. Over a couple hours of chatting her mood appeared to grow darker and she appeared distressed but was hesitant to elaborate further. She left and returned around 30 minutes later and appeared drunker and more distressed. This time she had a stack of tablets on the table in front of her. She claimed that she couldn’t go on and started to take tablet after tablet. (I had no idea what this medication was). She was continuing to take more and more tablets and her speech was getting more and more slurred. I was suddenly in a terrible position. Was I seeing someone take their own life on a live stream and totally unable to do anything, all I had was a name and a town, both of which could be false.I made the excuse of needing the toilet and left the room, and took this opportunity to call my local Police and explained the situation. The Police took what details I knew and I was told to go back and try and keep her talking and try and get further details from her. They sent a plain clothed officer to my house and whilst I was chatting to her he pulled up the chat logs and history on his laptop. By this time her speech was becoming more and more incoherent and the cam was knocked so was impossible to see her. Soon the connection was lost. Was this real, was it fake I had no idea of knowing. The Police officer was during this time on the phone with the station giving them what information he had been able to obtain, he then left leaving me to contemplate. The next evening I got a call from the local Police station, who wanted to thank me. The Police had managed to trace her through her IP address and had been able to attend. It apparently was a genuine suicide attempt and she had been taken to hospital and was subsequently undergoing treatment.

While repairing a computer, what is the weirdest thing you have found in a keyboard that is causing problems inside the computer?

I am SO glad you asked this question! After almost three decades of computer repair work, I can almost say I’ve seen it all… and then the next day I’m proven wrong.Let the parade begin! The first 2 pictures are of the result of a young boy who wanted to save his bubble gum for later by sticking it in the exhaust vent of Mommy's laptop.Starbucks latte with extra foam.Don’t you just love it when a cockroach crawls into a nice warm computer motherboard and his legs make contact in the two places he immediately regrets? One of my favorite stories. A girl in a beauty parlor accidentally drops a bottle of Talc, and the cloud of baby powder gets sucked into a desktop machine under a nearby table. The talc gets on the fan, into the ball-bearings and dries out the lubricant, causing the fan to make a god awful grinding noise. I had to take the unit outside and use a full can of compressed air to clean the rest of the chassis out.And for the next 2 pictures here, we have the results of sweet little 4-year old Tiffany. She was enjoying her peanut butter sandwich and wanted to save some for daddy when he comes home… so she places it on daddy's laptop and closed the lid. Most everything was replaced. Took an hour to clean the chassis.Skippy brand, creamy style. And of course the most common problem with desktop machines stuck under the desk where the vacuum never reaches.Clam chowder. ‘nuff said.A garage owner keeps his desktop out in the work area where guys using welding and grinding tools has the ground metal flying through the air getting sucked into the computer case. The results is the CPU fan creating this lovely star pattern.I was called to change the motherboard on a laptop for this guy who smokes like a chimney. When I walked into his office, the smell of cigarettes hit me like a wall it was so overpowering. Every part of the laptop was so sticky to the touch that I had to wear rubber surgical gloves. Anyway I got to work and discovered the fan stopped spinning because the inside of the laptop was so covered with cigarette tar and nicotine that the fan could no longer spin, effectively burning out the CPU. We both looked at the inside and I happen to ask him how many cigarettes he smokes a day? His response…?3 packs a day (that’s 60 cigarettes kiddies)!!!Slideshow: 13 Best Quit-Smoking Tips EverThis is what I love about my job. What was the weirdest compliment you've ever received?

This was more than a decade ago, before I got married and had kids.I was traveling through Dharamsala, in Himachal Pradesh, India. Along with some friends, I went to a little Japanese restaurant managed by a Tibetan refugee and his Japanese wife.As soon as I walked in I noticed a very attractive-looking young woman. She was short and somewhat plump and voluptuous, and had the the largest, most sparkling smile. And her eyes… it was as if something very joyous was constantly dancing in them.I felt immediately that I wanted to get to know her better. As luck had it, I found myself sitting across from her in a small café with a view to the slate-covered mountainside the following day. It turned out we had mutual friends, and as cups of chai were emptied and the night grew silent, we found ourselves alone. We got to talking, and we got to liking each other, and we got to spending time together.A friend who saw us together several days afterward told me that he had also been interested in her, but was rejected. He said that there were other suitors who had been spurned. Why me, then?My ego was buoyed up like a bubbly balloon. I thought that I must have had something very special to have attracted her affection. So one day I asked her.“Why do you like me? What is it about me?” And I smiled a shy smile, expecting her to say something about my charm or intellect or darkly mysterious beard. She smiled a large smile, and her eyes did that joyous dance, and she answered, “It’s your teeth!”Flabbergasted, I frowned. “What about my teeth?!”Now one thing that you need to understand is that I have some kind of genetic disorder that makes my teeth fairly… non-white. The only time I tried to bleach them at the dentist’s turned out to be a complete disaster. I had these sparkly-white swirls of bleached white surrounded by oceans of off-white yellowness. Not pretty.“They’re so small! I love them!” she gave an excited giggle and touched my incisors with a forefinger. “Absolutely tiny!”My ego was crushed. The tininess of my teeth is what set me apart from other men. Nice. And that was, without a doubt, the weirdest compliment I have ever received.

What do police officers think when people use "I don't consent to warrantless searches"?

Long ago, I was 22 years old and living in a house that had been purchased the year before. One summer day there was a loud BAM BAM BAM on the front door. On my small front porch there were five or six visibly armed guys in black uniforms. They asked if Nick Schultz was at home. I told them Nick Schultz didn’t live there. They said “Then you won’t mind if we come in and look,” and just about pushed me out of the way. I grabbed hold of the door frame, so they would have had to push harder and not just ‘brush’ me out of the way. Some of them went around the house to the back door, looking in windows as they went. They were so crowded up to the door that I had to ask them to move so that I could step outside onto the porch and close (and lock) the door behind me. I had two small children in the very small house and filling it with armed men acting like jerks didn’t seem like such a good idea. They surrounded me in the driveway, so that I couldn’t move a foot in any direction without bumping into one of them. They were doing their best to be threatening and intimidating as I explained that Mr. Schultz had sold the house a year earlier. They demanded to know where he was. (Huh?, Since when I am responsible for knowing the whereabouts of someone I bought something from a year earlier?) I did know that the reason the house had been sold in a hurry (and at a good price) was that Mr. Schultz was leaving the state one step ahead of the law. So I told them he moved out of state. By this point, if I had his address I wouldn’t have given it to them. Then they demanded I prove Mr. Schultz had sold the house, except I’m not going back into the house until these bozos are gone, for fear they will push in with me. I did give them the name of the real estate agent and directions to his office. What’s wrong with these guys? A half a dozen armed men bullying one skinny little girl in shorts, who was trying to protect her children from them. They were wasting all that man power (and tax payer money) because they were too stupid to check who owned the house before staging their ridiculous little raid. Are they too dumb to realize that treating random innocents like criminals might affect how the public perceives cops? These guys were ALL super aggressive from the time they ‘knocked,’ ‘til they left the property threatening me with what they were going to do to me and the house when they came back with the warrant. I never saw them again.

Life: What is the sweetest thing that someone has ever said to you?

One of my best friends is preparing for higher studies. She is too much into studies. Throughout topper student. Introvert and has only few friends. We used to talk a lot once but then it stopped; 5 minutes of talk a month, that's it.So yesterday I just happened to call her after many days. She : So, how's life going on?Me : It's great. so far so good. I'm working on this project, I'm doing this and that, etc.She : Cool, but you know, you need a girlfriend.(She was just pulling my legs)Me : I think it's not a good time for that. She : No, you really need a girlfriendMe : Well, I don't seem to find one, a good one. I've many female friends but not anyone of my type. She : oh really? You should do something about itMe: Yeh, Why don't you become my girlfriend? ("Healthy flirt". I always flirt with my close friends)She : hahaha. Very funny. After 5 mins of other random talk. She : Listen, I never told you but am going to tell you now, just for once. You know that I'm really not allowed to have a boyfriend. So I never intended to feel that for anyone but if that was not the case then I would have proposed you years ago.Me : lol. Nice joke. She : No, I'm serious. You're that nice to me and that perfect for me. I would have totally proposed you. There was so much truth and innocence in her voice. I was left speechlessEditThank you all for upvotes, never expected that many people will like this little story. However, some seems very much concerned and I respect their perspectives. But it'a not what you think it is. We are NOT in love. We are happy in our friendship and don't wish more than that.Edit 2She got into IIM. I'm Proud of her. I finished my big project. Its coming online within few days. We both are proud of eachother. We still video chat once a month. She came my home few days ago, I shared my breakup story. I narrated. She listened with smiling face. That was the sweetest thing someone has ever done to me.You may like my other answers too :)Apurva Raj's answer to What's the best picture taken of you and why do you think it's the best?Apurva Raj's answer to What is love in its purest form?
