Hey Ima 13 Year Old Boy Who Dosent Know How To Dress.i Used To Dress Like A Skater But I Dont Skate

As a 12 year old boy, is it possible for my parents to find out that I catcall women? I do it with my friends a lot. We give nice compliments and I learned to whistle. We live in the major city so these girls are strangers.

Let me ask you something.Have any of these girls you "give nice compliments to", seemed happy to have received them?Have they walked towards you and engaged, or have they just hurried from you?Have any of them waved back and returned a compliment or an enthusiastic "Thank you"?How often can you recall seeing the sort of joy on their faces, that receiving a genuine compliment would elicit?I would wager money on the fact that most of them seemed disturbed by the attention, walked away from you and generally did not seem to be deriving any joy out of it. Some may have been downright scared.Genuine compliments are designed to give joy, not elicit fear and distress. But this never was about giving joy, was it?Either you do not have the empathy to have noticed that and questioned your behavior, or you think someone else's hurt and fear is inconsequential, given the fun you and your friends are having. You know you mean no physical danger to those women. But do the women know that?Catcalling is scary, intrusive and incredibly disturbing. There are girls out there whom YOU catcalled that now worry about being out and about, alone.YOU did that. But you already know all of this, enough to know that you'd land in trouble if your parents were to become aware of your behavior. This isn't about awareness or knowledge at all. It's about compassion and empathy. The real question is, whether you have the strength of character to take a stand on the fact with friends. To do the right thing by these girls and women. It is about deciding whether the expense of making a woman feel unsafe, is a fair price for having your fun.I hope you arrive at the right decision.

My parents wont let me skateboard?

Sounds like my parents. For the longest time they kept saying "it's too dangerous" and "You need to act your age" I'm about your parents' age, judging by your age.

Now for some ammo that can help you get started skating.
The average of a skateboarder is 14
Most pros are in their 20s and 30s.
The fastest growing age group in skateboarding is over 20 years old.
Only Soccer and Basketball are more popular youth sports than skateboarding.

Skateboarding is safer than more traditional sports like basketball, football, soccer, cycling and swimming. All of these your parents would surely let you take up.
95% of injuries requiring an emergency room visit can be eliminated by wearing proper protective gear (pads, helmets, wrist guards)

Your parents saying "You could NEVER do something like that!" is horrible. It's simply saying you aren't good enough. I heard it a lot from mine and believing them, made some unfortunate choices because of it. It took years to realize it and will take many more to fix it. Have your friend take a video of you on his board. This will show your parents that you can at least ride a board. If you can do any tricks add them too.

Ask the parents to go to a skatepark, or better yet a competition. This will show them that there are many people who skate and it is not as dangerous as it seems. It's good exercise and you can make many new friends. Take them into a local skate shop just to look around or because you need some shoes, clothes, etc, or even a birthday present for your skater friend. Your parents can talk to the adults in the shop, either parents of skaters, or skaters themselves. This might reduce their fears. They should also talk to your friend's parents. They might have a better time convincing your parents to let you ride.

How would you react if your daughter told you she is lesbian and has a girlfriend?

*cracks knuckles* Let’s get down to business (not to defeat the Huns…this time).Me: *Is busy watching a hockey game*Daughter: Papa?Me: Is this important enough to interrupt me during the race to the cup?Daughter: Umm…yeah…Me: What is it, oh daughter of mine?Daughter: I…don’t know how to…Me: Spit it out. If you’re pregnant I’m killing someone. Again.Daughter: *now in fear* Again??!!Me: Just kidding. What’s up, kiddo?Daughter: So that girl I’ve been friends with for a while and have been hanging out with recently?Me: Is she the father??!!?Daughter: Damn it papa!Me: What? Am I being punked?Daughter: Dad….I…Me: Oh it’s serious…you just called me dad.Daughter: I will pull your eyes out if you interrupt me again…this is hard enough as it is…Me: I’ll behave.Daughter: I uh….kind of like her.Me: I’d certainly hope you like her, you’re supposed to be friends aren’t you?Daughter: Not like that…Uh…we’ve uhh been dating for a week.Me: Don’t run off getting married, you’re still in school.Daughter: Is that all you have to say?Me: Yep. Want to watch some hockey?Daughter: Why don’t you ever care about things like this??!? This is serious!!Me: And? You’re my daughter, am I supposed to care that you like girls?Daughter: YES!!!!Me: Too bad. Your brother is gay*. I think. I still don’t care. I love you all the same.Daughter: You just…what the hell is with this family?? Is there anyone in this house that is straight?Me: Not as far as I can tell.Daughter: WHAT?!?!?Me: Surprise I like dick too.Daughter: WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!Me: Calm down, child. I’m bisexual. Why does this shock everyone?Daughter: Because you…I don’t know…Me: Are you going to watch this game with me or not? Wait a minute…is that a Red Wings Sweater? Get the fuck out of my house you…you…you heathen!Daughter: It’s a prank I swear!!Me: Wait so you don’t like girls?Daughter: No I do…the sweater was just a prank…Can I go burn it now?Me: I don’t know if I can trust you anymore.Once again…I care about hockey more than sexuality. And before you ask, yes I’d kick her out for being a Red Wings fan. We don’t tolerate worshiping of false idols in this household. May Detroit burn in hell.

What are the best skateboarding shoes?

1: Suede upper. I don’t eat meat for various reasons, but I wear cow on my feet cos can’t afford to skate in anything but suede. Suede will last many times longer than textiles (no matter how they’re marketed - looking at you DC). Canvas shoes are usually cheaper, but you can get super cheap “Suede plimsolls” with vulcanised rubber soles from a lot of retailers for ~$20 and customise them (see #3)2: Laces. Your shoe is an interface with the board so you want to be able to lace up to give more control over that interface.3: Fit: people have different feet - width, height, arch etc. Some shoes will just fit better, maybe a brand suits you, maybe just one model. Some people get custom insoles, but I just pull them from my used-up shoes/snowboard boots and insert them into other shoes to adjust the fit.4. Purpose: Park/trick skating, or skating to work/school? Some shoes have unnecessary detail that will show wear and tear more easily making the shoes old before their time.5. Sole: Vulcanised vs cupsole = two different types of rubber, not much difference. Nike, Adidas and converse are getting into the high-tech high $$ cushion soles, both new models and reissues of old favourites. Not sure if Vans has caught up yet… You can achieve the same on a budget using #3 abovePics below show two pairs of Emerica Romero’s, The shoe on the left has had 20x more use than the one on the right. You can tell from the amount of detail that has worn away from the rubber. Despite this, the suede barely shows a mark. Meanwhile the fabric shoe on the right has worn right through before the finish has even worn off the rubber.

What would an overprotective parent stop their teen from doing?

Must tell parents everything, even the smallest detail they request about your life must be handed over.No locking mom and dad out of your room - locks are okay only when plumbers, repairmen, etc. are around (and mom and dad have the key to your room, don't worry, if you're in a medical emergency just scream and we'll be right there)Mom and dad can enter room at any time, without knocking or announcing themselves, even if in the middle of changing clothes. No talking to boys. No hitching rides with boys, even if there will be 10 other girls there and only one boy.No talking to males, in general, especially if they're not teachers. Includes friends' drivers, cleaning service, food delivery people, postmen.Mom and dad reserve the right to go through anything in the phone, laptop and tablet - e-mails, chats, browsing history cannot be deleted or otherwise! No boyfriend until a diploma or higher has been achieved and a stable job with at least $2, 000 in monthly wages has been secured. No staying out late at night. No leaving home alone. No leaving school grounds without adult supervision. No hanging out with friends if boys are also invited. No hanging out with friends before you're 15 (this cut me out of so many social circles - it's really rude to decline a social invitation in elementary and middle school!)Edit:No going to college overseas, because then you'll be 'wild' and 'out of control', it's better to stay safe and secure here in your hometown.Don't flirt. Don't even lock eyes with boys.No trips out of town without parents, not even school trips unless it's a must.Parents will call teachers every other hour to check on you during MANDATORY school trip (by mandatory, they mean that I'll fail the grade if I don't show up)No going into bars, not even with parents. Parents wanna go to bar? Ok, you better stay at home then.No watching anime because it's 'a corrupting influence' and 'extremely violent'.No reading PG-13 and YA books and movies, because they 'corrupt your mind' and 'teach you dumb things'.Friends must come over to our house for group projects, unless it's held in the house of a close friend (my parents are friends with the host's parents)What, 158 upvotes? That's the most I've ever gotten… thanks so much to anyone who upvoted!

Would you let your 13 year old wear a thong?

Okay, i'm 13 and i think i am really responsible. I make really good grades, and I am in the pre AP classes at my school. I really want to wear a thong, but i am not sure what my mom would say. I also do not think that the you are just a kid crap applies either because I have got my period. So I think that if my body if mature enough to have a baby that I can handel a thong. Plus I only want one because of pantie lines. I wear lots of sweat pants from like hollister and abercrombie and pantie lines are so not cute. What do you guys think from a parents pont of veiw?

My daughters feet are in agony figure skating?

I think your best bet would be travelling to find a pro shop with a huge variety of brands, and just spend a few hours trying on the different ones, having her walk around in them, etc. It's a pain, but I think it might be your best option at this point. Although if her feet are having the problem 2/4 months after wearing the skates that's very odd. If it were the skates, the problem would arise right away, and the same if it were an issue with her feet (for example, I had tried a new brand and after one session in them I had to go and swap them for my old brand as my feet just couldn't take it). I don't want to sound judgemental or presumptive, but are you sure she just doesn't just want shiny, clean new skates and is putting on an act to get them? (believe me, thirteen year olds can be extremely devious when they want something; I was one of those) Although if she does pronate her feet, then that's a problem that needs to be solved (although that would again affect the comfort of the skates right off the bat). The only suggestion I would have in that case would be go for a more supporting boot than she needs, and try a custom insole to correct that.

But back to the skates; honestly, what 'should' fit is subjective. I have very narrow feet and theoretically I 'should' like Jacksons, but I've always been with Gam and I have no plans to ever change that (the one pair of Jacksons I tried were horrible). I'm not a skate pro, but honestly, I think your best option is to make the trip to a pro shop with a wide selection and have her try all the different brands and figure out what's best. It's annoying, but it'll probably save you more money in the long run.
