Hi Everybody I Am A Mother Of One Who Go Back To School At 32 Years Old. I Will Graduate This Year

Going back to school at 33 Years old...?

I completed my first grad degree at 27 and my second grad degree at 38. I am now a faculty instructor teaching in a college that targets specifically the older, mature, and working adult among others.

There are numerous programs that are based online, on the weekend, or otherwise take about 10 hours per week of study and class time which with the right initiative will allow you to work and cointinue your life without a problem.

I would especially recommend some of the online schools. Many of these offer a series of classes towards a degree with everyone done online including access to the library and chatting with other students.

Having taught more than 500 students in a college online setting; all of whom worked full time jobs; I can say that as long as you adequately schedule yourself, make time for yourself (non work and school time) and have a serious goal in mind that will lead to something you've always want to do, that will be enough incentive to get you through.

there are some online programs geared to the freshman and new college student. There are others that will transfer existing college credits.

Hope that helps.

Should I go back to school at 21 yrs of age?

Sometimes when one door closes another one opens. Maybe this was not in your plan.. to be honest fashion designer graduates dont even make that much money and wind up sewing patterns for a living in some sweat shop (well like one anyways). Unless your really good at fashion like amazing then you wont be successful. So take this as a blessing and find something where you can make money in. You say science intrests you, have you ever thought of doing nursing? going back to school at age 21 is not a problem at all many people in university are 21 esp after spending 2 years at a commuity college which most people do. Never compare your life to others cause that will make you more depressed. Focus on YOUR life and do what you need to do to make YOU feel happy. It is hard to get a job, im 18 and only worked once in my life and that was in the summer of 09 its now 2010 and ive been sending out applications to no avail.. i guess my resume sucks but i never realized how hard it is to find a job, so i can relate with you on that aspect. Ive been applying to stores but alot of them want you to have experience working at the mall.. i havent as of yet done a follow up call so i will do that, do you do follow up calls after you submit your resume? like a week later? cause they say that it highers your chance of getting a job.

As for now enroll at a college for the Sept 2010 start, you still have time alot of programs are still open. Im canadian as well so i can tell you that they already started sending out acceptance letters as of Feb1st but there still accepting applications so apply. go to "ontariocolleges.ca" but if u got the grades to go to unviersity then go there. I got accepted into a two year program at seneca that will give me entrance into year 3 at york university so maybe look into a program like that..

What is it like to transfer schools in your senior year of high school?

I believe there are many factors involved which determine whether the experience will be positive or negative. My parents moved from Massachusetts to North Carolina the summer of 1989 right as I was about to enter my senior year in high school. I had lived in the same suburban town 20 minutes south of Boston my entire life. I had been enrolled in the same school district since kindergarten & had known every one of my peers since that time. I was very active in school activities including cheerleading and being elected Vice President of my junior class. Transferring from a school where my graduating class had less than 100 students to a high school with a graduating class of 300 in a city 14 hours away that I had never even heard of was devastating. The third day of school I developed flu like symptoms which doctors informed my parents was attributed to a psychosomatic condition. Basically I was so miserable & stressed my mind was making my body physically sick. I plotted to get on a plane to go home to Ma during the Christmas break & never step foot in NC again. I resented both of my parents for the move for some time. They moved by choice - not because one of them had received a job offer too good to refuse. The timing to me was extremely selfish - they couldn't wait ONE more year for me to graduate? I loathed school my senior year & would skip every chance I got. At 44 I'm over it but there was a time where I did feel robbed of the traditions & rites of passage a high school senior's year brings. My mother told me years ago she regretted the decision to move at that time & if she could go back to 1989 she wouldn't have encouraged the move just before my senior year. In today's economy there are challenges that relocating can alleviate. However if a child is happy & adjusted a move right before or during the senior year is cruel.

Is 45 too old for nursing school?

At 45, you are at a really good age to star(t) a career in nursing. If I would have gone to school when I was 45 it would not have made any difference to my interest, passion and enthusiasm. Sure it will be a little late if you compare to your classmates who are in their 20s. If you would have compared yourself with your classmates, then they become your standards instead of you.I never stopped going to school after my BSN. In fact, I never stopped going to school at all. Until I finished my doctorate in nursing. There is just no more degree after that level. But what I did was to engage myself in continuing education programs, both as the student and as the resource person at different times. At 49 I am still pursuing both with the same vigor that I did when I first started nursing school about 15 years ago.I was 36 when I joined nursing school. We were 86 students in our class, 14 were full-fledged medical doctors, and a good percentage of retirable or retired teachers, office workers, policemen, soldiers, lawyers, accountants, dentists, engineers, and a few plain housekeepers. The average age bracket of that class was 48. That means to say, we had classmates whose ages ranged between 50–65.No, 45 is not too old for nursing school. No age is too old for nursing school. If you start school at 45 and you finish at 48 or 49, you have 15 years to start practicing and working, and a lifetime of honing your skills. But here is the thing: we don’t age in nursing. If we do, the process is graceful.

Do you ever wish you had an older brother?

Hi everyone :)
My name is Anberline, I'm 17 years old, just graduated high school, I have an older sister, and I lover her to death, but I've always wondered what it would be like having an older brother. My older sister, Erika, no longer lives with us anymore. Sadly :( and I miss her a lot. I also have a younger half-sister, she's 3 years old, from my mom and her boyfriend, and some siblings from my dad that I have never met. My dad, back in his glory days lol (he's almost 40), was one of those guys who liked to go out a lot and bring home lots of women. My parents are divorced, obviously lol. So I've only known two sisters my whole life out of the possibly many siblings I have. I know some of you might say "No, by older brother is a pain-in-the-***" or "No, I have a lot of brothers." Something similar to those. But I don't know what it's like. I've always wanted a protective brother that will always be there for me; and I know lots of you might say that that's not true all the time, but I'm not the type to be harsh towards my sisters, whether they're mean to me or not. My friend always talks about her older brother, her ups and downs with him, and their special moments they share. It's just so precious to me! I've heard about "adopting" one, but I don't know how to do that, either way, I'll never be able to have that special relationship like with a real brother by relation. I grew up with an older cousin, Mark, that I'd like to consider them my older brother, but we never talk anymore :/ and it makes me really sad. Do you ever wish you ever had an older brother or sister? If you want a younger or older sis, I'm here for you lol jk that would be nice though (:

Thank you so much in advance! (:
Sorry I know this is kinda long :/
