Hi Guys Can You Help Me With Vectors

Maths, vectors? Exam tomorrow?

Relative to an origin O, the position vectors of the points A and B are given by

OA = 2i − 8j + 4k

and

OB = 7i + 2j − k.

(i) Find the value of:
→ →
OA.OB and hence state whether angle AOB is acute, obtuse or a right angle.

(ii) The point X is such that:
→ →
AX = 2/5AB.

Find the unit vector in the direction of OX.

Please tell me how you got each answer? I know the first part but I don't know if it's obtuse or right angle? How do I know it's obtuse or right angle??

Hi guys please help me i have exam phisics tomorrow .please help help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

The acceleration vector is (αt^2, β-γt )

Integrate with respect to time to get the velocity vector: (αt^3 /3 + A, βt-γt^2/2 + B)

Find the constants A and B by plugging in initial conditions for velecity

Then integrate again to get the position vector....

Simple vector calculus help, simple but confusing?

The component of a vector E along another vector F is the orthogonal projection of E onto a straight line parallel to F

The component of E in the direction of F is:
|E| cos(alpha) where alpha is the angle between E and F.

The dot product E∙F is defined as:
E∙F= |E| |F| cos(alpha)

The component of E along F is therefore:
E∙F / |F|

E = (0,3,4)
F = (4,10,5)

E∙F = 0∙4 + 3∙10 + 4∙5 = 50
|F| = √(4^2 + 10^2 + 5^2) = √141

The component of E along F is:
|E| cos(alpha) = E∙F / |F| = 50/√141

Need help with vectors, c++?

To place the value 4 into third row, second column, use grid[2][1] = 4; (rows and columns are counted from zero)

for example:

#include
#include
int main()
{
     // 9x9 vector of vectors
     std::vector< std::vector > grid(9, std::vector(9));

     // put the number 4 in 3rd row 2nd column
     grid[2][1] = 4;

     // output
     for(size_t r=0; r     {
         for(size_t c=0; c             std::cout << grid[r][c] << ' ';
         std::cout << '\n';
     }
}

Vector math question involving u, v and w.?

note the following vectors:

X = v - u, the vector from endpoint of u to endpoint of v
Y = w - v, the vector from endpoint of v to endpoint of w

we have:
X x Y = (v-u) x (w-v)
= v x w - u x w + u x v
= v x w + w x u + u x v
= 0 according to the assumption.

So X and Y are collinear, which also means the endpoints are on a same line.

It could also mean X=0 or Y=0, but in these cases, two of the original vectors are equal, in which case the endpoints of these three vectors are trivially on a same line.

Electromagnetics question ,plsss help me guys?

given two vectors rA= -ax-3ay-4az and rB=2ax+2ay+2az

find rab

and the answer is

RAB =(2+1)ax +(2+3)ay +(2+4)az
RAB= 3ax+5ay+6az

now my question is about the signs..why the two vectors added with positive sign..isnt it that it should rab=(2-1)ax+ (2-3)ay+(2-4)az

pls help me how to add vectors..wheter from positive to negative..please explain it to me guysss.plsss

Electric field problem (physics)?

hey guys can you help me with this one??

Consider an electric field of E=(a,b,c) (a,b,c are constants). What is the work required to move an electron a distance 'd' in the negative x direction?

I have tried doing it and have no clue how to!!!!!

Can you help me with this mechanics/physics problem?

The eastward component of P Newton force is in direction opposite to the 10 N force.Since the resultant is perpendicular to the eastward component of P N and westward 10 N force, the only force in north direction is northward component of P, which in turn is the resultant force.thus10 N = Psin(30)=>P= 10/sin(30)=>P=10/0.5thus, P=20the resultant force is Pcos(30)R=Pcos(30)=>R=20*0.86thus R=17.3 N

Linear algebra/matrices homework help please!?

Hi guys, I have a test review due in a bit and would like some input to some questions:

1) The columns of an invertible 6x6 matrix A do not span R^6.

2) If the columns of a 4x4 matrix A are linearly independent, then the columns of A span R^4.

3) Let H be the set of all vectors:
[ a - 2b
ab + 3a
b]

where a and b are real. Determine if H is a subspace of R^3:

a. H is a subspace of R3 because it can be written as Nul(A) for some matrix A.
b. H is a subspace of R3 because it can be written as Span{v1, v2} with v1, v2 in R3.
c. H is not a subspace of R3 because it does not contain 0.
d. H is not a subspace of R3 because it is not closed under vector addition.

4) Three vectors in R^5 always span R^5, true or false?

5) Four linearly independent vectors span R^4, true or false?

6) A set
B = {v1, v2, . . . , vp}
of vectors in R^n is always linearly independent when p < n, true or false?

For #1, I believe the answer is False, as according to the Inverse Matrix Theorem, a matrix that is invertible must also have columns that span the n-space, R^6 in this case.

For #2, I believe the answer is true once more because of the IMT: if the columns of the matrix span the n-space, then the same columns of the matrix must for a linearly independent set.

#3 to me is quite obviously not a subspace due to the a*b which isn't scalar.. but which would be the best answer choice for that?

Not sure on #4..

#5 I'm tempted to say false... but I'm not sure why..

#6 False, because the theorem it refers to (dependent when p > n) doesn't guarantee the same thing the other way around, correct?

Any input for any of these questions would be greatly appreciated!

What is an easy tool or software that can help designing a logo?

The biggest mistake new and aspiring graphic designers make, is thinking about which computer tool works best. And this is what makes them think that just because they have illustrator or Photoshop, they think they're graphic designers. These are the best tools to start with: Your BrainSome imaginationSome design inspirationPencilPaperThe best way to create any graphic design is by using the above tools. When you're good at those, then you move on to computer software for design. The top tools available for vector drawing: Paid tools: Adobe IllustratorCorelDrawXaraFree tools: Inkscape (my favorite)In conclusion, start sketching, then when you're improving, move on to the computer. Buy a subscription of Adobe Creative Cloud, use Illustrator and focus on mastering the pen tool. It's the greatest tool in all graphic design software. If you can't afford Adobe CC right now, then download Inkscape, it's free, powerful, and fast. I recommend inkscape for doing your own private jobs, but if you plan to work for a design company, use Illustrator as it's still the industry standard.Don't forget to always begin with your pencil and paper.
