Where can a guy with long hair get a job?

It depends on what type of you job or career field you're looking to get into. I've worked with men with long hairs. If I'm not mistaken, all of them kept their hair in a ponytail during the hours. Some of them were managers.

I would suggest thought, if you don't want to cut your hair, have it trimmed. It will appear that you're taking care of your hair and not just letting it grow wildly.

Jobs that don't allow men to keep long hair are the military, police force (though, the rules may have bent a little) and correctional officers. I work for the department of corrections where male officers are not allowed to wear their hair long at all for obvious reasons.

How to grow long hair on a guy with wavy/curly hair?

Hi man,

As a fellow curly haired dude, I know what it is like to grow hair longer than the norm. What you are referring to is the Shoulder Length hairstyle, which you can learn all about in this article:

Through my experience (and as the article above suggests), you should just let your hair grow. Growing hair long is quite an experience and you will learn a lot from your hair on how it behaves and grows. The same author of the above article gives the pros and cons of growing hair long too (you can see his pictures for reference of his long curls too):

Follow his advice, he is a guru on all to do with growing hair.

For shampoos and conditioners, I am afraid there is nothing that will make you grow your hair faster/stronger. You should be shampooing on an "every other day" basis while the conditioner should be your best ally. Some recommended reading for you:

Give these articles a good read. The first step to growing good curly hair is knowledge so read and then read some more! Feel free to approach the guy from Manly Curls with specific questions, he is quite an approachable and good guy.

Take care

How long does hair grow?

The average is 1/8" per week. This is why clipper guards are denoted in eighths of an inch.
#1 guard leaves 1/8" = 3mm of hair on the head = one week's hair growth at the average rate of growth.
#2 guard leaves 2/8" = 6mm of hair on the head = two week's hair growth at the average rate of growth.
#3 guard leaves 3/8" = 9 mm of hair on the head = three week's hair growth at the average rate of growth etc.
In one day hair grows 0.5 mm. #000 blade leaves 0.5 mm hair growth on the head.
In one week, hair grows 1/8".
In one month hair grows 1/2".
In one year hair grows 6".
However average rates can vary and not all hairs on a person's head grow at the average rate. Individual hairs grow to a terminal length of several feet fall out and are replaced by a new hair. We can't see this because we cut our hair. Young hairs tend to grow rapidly, slow down in middle age and grow slowly when about to fall out and be replaced by a new hair. Everyone has hairs of all ages on the head. On some guys there is much more variation of rates of hair growth between young, middle aged and older hairs. This is why some guy's hair looks fine as it grows longer while others starts to look raggedy a couple of weeks after a haircut. Terminal length and rate of growth are controlled by an individual's inherited DNA.
Good Luck!

How do i grow long hair? (asian, boy)

Hi!An easy way to start the grow long process with your hair is by growing out your layers.  Thick hair with too many layers will just puff out and look too round.  Normal hair growth is minimum 6 inches per year.  Growing out layers....Start by allowing your hair to have extra length so you are able to have substantial length.  Your layers should be longer than 6 inches all over to see progress.  If it is not longer than 6 inches prepare to let your hair grow in more length.Getting to chin length...Straight hair could get to chin length within 6 months if your are growing out from a buzz cut.  Hair grows a half inch per month. Should you start from the back?It is a good idea to start trimming the back (nape) hairs first.  These hairs will be the guide for where you want the future length to reach.  Remember hairs in the front will take time to reach the hair in the (nape) back area because they have further to travel.  Layered hair will be the same length all over if you measured each piece.  The difficult part is growing hair to make all one length.Patience....Growing out hair requires patience.  Getting past your ear is the hardest.  It is hard because you feel like the hair is just this thing sitting on top of your head taking on a life of its own.  You have to fight the urge to cut any growth off. This stage will make you wear a hat.  Most people complain of this stages' frustration.  I can speak from experience it is helmet(y).The round, square, triangle look....Until your hairs are long enough to style the shape could go from round to square to triangle.  The round shape is short layers.  The square shape is hair growth taking on the shape of a square because the layers are now longest in the back of your head.  The triangle shape is long hair which is flat on top with weight pulling the length down.Hairstyles....Each stage of the growing process will be a different look for "you".   Your hairstyle can change in a matter of two weeks when growing out layers.  Once you get past the ears as a growth marker, options start changing.  Hang in there. Do girls like long hair or short hair on guys?

Just a fair warning to guys, keep in mind more women likely to answer this question probably already think they prefer long hair on men. In most examples women like this give, they post a bunch of photos of male models and celebrities who are already good looking and have had professional stylists handle their hair and photographers to make sure the photos they take look the best they can. I know from personal experience it likely hurt more than helped and is way too much effort to justify. An exception maybe is if you have thick, darker, naturally wavy hair that looks masculine. If you have finer, flatter hair, you’re likely going to look weaker and geekier, or like a metal head stoner, unless you’re Brad Pitt, and at that point may only appeal to younger women into edgy looking guys (if you are also in your early to mid 20s). That said, if you don’t feel right with short hair and prefer long hair on yourself, make yourself happy and you’ll likely be able to find some women okay with it as long as you look good and healthy in other ways.

Should i let my son grow his hair out?

Hi guys. My son is 15 years old. He has always had his hair short. He asked me if he could grow his hair long(he wants to grow it to below his shoulders). Should i let him grow it long?

Also, what are some rules i should have about letting him have long hair? heres what i have so far. Do you have any suggestions?
1. It must be washed and healthy
2. He must take time to style it in mournings before school
3. Must get hair trimmed regurlary
4. It must be tied back when around cooking, around fire, or playing sports
5. If he fails a class, we will go get him a buzz cut
are these fair? Thanks
