How do I update my laptop from Windows 8 to Windows 10 using Windows 10 ISO?

If you simply want to update your laptop retaining all your personal data and installed softwares, simply extract the contents of ISO file in some known directory and run the Setup.exe file. Follow the instructions and upgrade your laptop from windows 8 to windows 10. But this method is not advisable as you'll need a product key after the installation has finished to activate windows.Since free upgrade period for windows 10 has ended, windows 7 or 8 product keys cannot be directly used for activating windows 10. But there's still a hope.Microsoft is providing free upgrade to windows 10 for users who use assistive technology.Accessibility at Microsoft.Actually you do not need to provide any special proof that you use assistive technology and setup process is just identical to normal upgrade. After the setup has completed, setup will automatically detect your product key and activate the windows online.Alternately, if you're not worried about windows activation, you can follow some of these methods. You've got many options available to do this. I'll list a few of them.Burn the downloaded ISO file on a dvd using default Burn utility available on windows. You can use some third party softwares as well, one of these are ImgBurn or PowerISO.Use Create bootable USB drives the easy way Rufus to burn the ISO onto a pen drive. For faster installation, use USB 3.0.Restart your laptop. Press Del, F2, F11 or some other function keys to enter in BIOS mode. Try to find there Boot Options.Choose USB drive or DVD drive depending upon what are you using for installation. Insert your media and restart your laptop.Follow the on screen instructions and install windows 10 on your laptop.PS, if you don't have any technical background, I won't advice you to carry out any of these process yourself unless you don't care about losing your data or entire laptop itself.

Laptop screen brightness stuck on dim - Windows 8.1?

Hi I have a Lenovo ideapad P400 Touch laptop that I just bought back in April with Windows 8 on it.

And about a month ago I upgraded it to the Windows 8.1 preview.

Last night I was messing with the brightness and I took it down to the lowest it can get, and then when I tried to move the slider back up to make my screen brighter the slider moved but my screen stayed on dim.

I've gone through the power plans and made sure everything checked out and also made sure all my drivers were updated. I've done a check for a windows update and I am up to date.

I don't have any kind of light sensor to my knowledge that is on and would cause my screen to be dim.

One interesting note though I did an "improve power usage" scan to see what it would come up with and it says "screen saver is enabled - problem not fixed" and under that it says "brightness too high - problem fixed" but when I adjust my slider it still does nothing.

I've done a little research and the best explanation I can come up with is Lenovo's drivers are actually for windows 7 and don't take into account the new code of windows 8. This causing things to not work properly.

And the only fixes I can come up with is wipe windows 8 off my computer and re-install it. Or wait til Lenovo comes out with drivers for windows 8.

I don't know how to un-install and re-install win8 and I really don't think I can just sit here and wait while I can barley see the screen on my pretty much brand new $900 laptop.

Any help here??

I accidentally formatted my genuine windows OS. Now my laptop does not have any OS. How can I retrieve my product key?

Hello BOSS don't worry about your original product key….. go and download RELOADER final version in order to activate windows without any problem and without any fake windows notification….but if you want the original product key YOU CAN RECOVER it from from your windows by installing software like “MAGICAL JELLY BEAN KEY FINDER” which will FIND AND GIVE THE ORIGINAL PRODUCT KEY OF YOUR WINDOWS OR EVEN OFFICE…!!!!

I just upgraded to Windows 10 and the audio is not working on my laptop. How can I fix that? Do I need to install audio drivers again?

Microsoft's newest operating system, Windows 10, has brought its own share of inherent bugs, installation problems and post-update issues including the annoying "No sound on Windows 10" issue.I have found a way to fix this problem, which is attributed to a flaw in the Windows 10 sound settings. It is confirmed that the lack of sound persists even after installing the correct audio drivers from the OEM or sound card manufacturer. Here is how to fix the "No Sound" issue on Windows 10:Problem with an Audio after windows 10 upgrade?
