i have a mail to beta mail that say to me : YAHOO BETA This is to inform you that you have won a prize money of FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND US DOLLARS ($500,000.00) for the YEAR 2008 Lottery promotion which is organized by YAHOO LOTTERY INC for the introduction of the new YAHOO BETA MAIL which all YAHOO users are required to switch onto. YAHOO! & MICROSOFT WINDOWS, arranged and gathered all the e-mail addresses of the people that are active online, among the millions that subscribed to Yahoo and Hot mail, and others we only select FIVE (5) candidates annually as our winners through Electronic Balloting System (EBS) without the candidate applying, we congratulate you for being one of the people selected.. Two Words - PHISHING SCAM ;);););) Ask yourself these three questions: * Did you enter any lottery? (NO) * Why would two RIVAL companies - Yahell and "Windows" (MSN) - hold a lottery together? (THEY WOULDN'T) * Does this sound too good to be true??? (HELLS YES!!!) ;););););)

It is scam. Yahoo (insert any company name here, this answer works for all!) do not run an email lottery, if they did you could guarantee it would be advertised all over their home page. Do not click on any links, the page you will be taken to will look authentic but is not Do not send them a 'courier fee' or any other money Do not hand over any bank details or passwords Do report spam Do delete Remember there is no such thing as a free lunch. You cannot win a lottery if you haven ot bought a ticket. Anyone can set up an email account with Yahoo, they can use any combination of letters they choose. I could be 'thequeenmother@yahoo.com' or 'disneyfreeticketsgenuine@yahoo.com' That doesn't mean that I am either of these and is fine as long as I don't try to use the address to mislead people. Don't be fooled by legitimate looking email addresses which end the same way as any other free account, don't be fooled by fictitious titles such as 'Dr' or 'Executive Director of Winner Claims'. (I've answered this question so many times that I now keep this answer on my desktop and just copy and paste....that should give you a clue!)
Why is my mail forwarded automatically by yahoo, without my request?
Since 27th of March all of my incoming mail gets forwarded automatically to one of my secondary email addresses, without me requesting or paying for it. In some cases the mail is bounced and sender gets this in return as part of the message: Return-Path: <[not shown]@hotmail.com> X-Yahoo-Forwarded: from [not shown]@yahoo.com to [not shown]@[not shown].com My question is simple, how do I turn it off? The menu option for forwarding is not available and says: "We Apologize The service you are requesting is not currently for sale. We apologize for the inconvenience." Cause now I am not receiving any mails at all. I have been using the yahoo mail beta and switched back.

This is a SCAM. Unscrupulous thieves have sent you this email and they are trying to part you from your hard earned cash. They will often ask you to call a premium rate number and keep you holding on whilst you rack up a huge phone bill. They are then paid a large proportion of this phone bill. They may ask you to divulge personal information about yourself or ask for your bank or credit card details. Do not divulge any such information under any circumstances. It is surprising how many innocent victims have been duped by these types of emails. Please remember the thieves who send them are very clever and extremely convincing. Hi I Recive a email from "Yahoo! Sorry friend but there is no Microsoft, Yahoo or other e-mail lottery, it's a scam do not answer do not give personal information. the iinternet is safe enough if you are careful but please answer nothing that you are doubtful about.Good Luck and be careful
