High End Consignment Stores In London

Are there any consignment shops in the Bay Area that will pay for women's clothing and shoes?

The two most common chains in the Bay Area that will buy your clothes and shoes for cash or store credit are:Buffalo ExchangeCrossroads Trading CompanyI've had somewhat better results with Buffalo Exchange in Berkeley but every place always has long lines, especially on the weekend so it's really only worth it if you have higher end clothes like designer jeans and pricier clothes from the last year (they rarely buy stuff from prior seasons).

Where can I sell second hand clothes in London?

There are endless online options but I have loads of items so it be so much hassle to sell all of them this way.....
Surely there must be some second hand shops you can give your stuff to and when something of yours is sold you get a little of the cash? There used to be a second hand kids clothes shop in London that did this....Anyone know??

Are there any stores like Goodwill in London?

Hi,

There are many stores equivalent to Goodwill. We tend to call them charity shops and you will find one or two on most major shopping streets.
A really nice area to visit which has an abundance of these types of stores is Kensington Church St and Notting Hill. Here you will find an abundance of charity shops as well as what people like to refer to as "vintage shops".
On saturday another good place to go is Portobello Market near to Ladbroke Grove. Here you will find many stores selling second hand clothing and accessories. Please visit the website below for more information.

What is the best place to sell vintage designer clothing online?

Ebay is a good resource for designer clothing. An Azzedine Alaia black dress just sold for an all time high at over 18,000.00.Thierry Mugler, and I know the collection from the ‘80’s well, is not as collectible. You may want to contact Kerry Auctions in London who is turning in amazing numbers for fashion. There are individual designer consignment shops in the real world. It may take a while, but you would get more than on ebay, even with a 40–50% fee from the retail. Cameron Silver’s http://Decades.com is very good and has an important clientele. You may look through 1stDibs.com, and see what dealers are offering Thierry Mugler, and check those prices - these will usually be the highest prices. You could then contact a couple dealers and ask whether they accept pieces on consignment.Etsy, do look, is not a good place for this. I would absolutely not list on Craigslist - you certainly don’t want strangers coming to you to try clothing on, yuck.

Were can i go to a store and get a prom dress?

http://www.PromDressShop.com has the best dresses. Go to their sale gowns for under 200.

London: Where should I buy suits, and for what price?

Within a 30 minute walking radius from Bond Street to Piccadilly, you can explore the entire price spectrum. At the value end, you'll want to visit the High Street department stores. I'm speaking of Marks & Spencer, Next, Debenhams and so on. Slater Menswear is a very good alternative outside of the capital. These suits will be off the rack and roughly £100, more or less. Looking at the midrange, at about £200 and above, you should take a walk down Jermyn Street in Westminster to feel as though you've walked backwards in time. Handmade British shoes, cigar shops, shaving goods, and the trio of Hawes & Curtis, TM Lewin and Charles Tyrwhitt. These shops are located all over the country but the Jermyn Street branches are their flagship stores. You will be measured, fitted and your off the rack suits will be altered to fit you better within the week. Suit Supply is a new chain of suit stores at a slightly higher price point with a more American cut.At the extreme high end, you can stroll down Savile Row where a suit can take months to make to your precise measurements for at least £2000 per suit. As for the number of suits, buy two and alternate every day. You can't go wrong with one navy and one grey, or blue, as long as you remember the rule to pair black shoes with a navy suit, and brown shoes with a blue suit.

Places you absolutely HAVE to see in/around london?

There's lots to see.and visit. Here's a brief list of the main attractions.

Palaces - Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, Hampton Court Palace. All of these are open to visitors.

Museums and Galleries - Natural History Museum, Science Museum, National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, The Tate and Tate Modern, British Museum, Imperial War Museum.

Famous Buildings and Monuments etc - The Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, Whitehall and Downing Street, Clarence House, St James Palace, Tower of London, Trafalgar Square, Marble Arch, Monument, Tower Bridge, London Eye.

Churches - Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral, St Clement Dane, Temple Church, Saint Martin in the field.

There's such a lot to see I can't possibly list them all here. I'd recommend an Eyewitness Travel Guide as they're very comprehensive and include attractions, opening times, photos and maps.

Try the website for The Original London Walks as they do loads of guided tours around the city, They're very cheap and you can take Jack the Ripper, Harry Potter, The Da Vinci Code, Charles Dickens, Museum and Ghost walks. They are very good indeed and you get to see the places lots of tourists don't eve know about.

Travel by tube or bus, It's cheaper than by taxi and very convenient. You can get travel cards from your nearest tube station.

The main shopping streets are Oxford and Regent Street. You can try New Bond Street for Designer labels. Camden for alternative clothing. There's a big mall in Brent Cross also.

As for food, there are places to eat everywhere. China Town in Soho is good and Brick Lane for Indian Food in particular.

There are lots of public parks and green areas in London. I'd recommend lunch al fresco if it's fine.
Have fun.
