Highschool dance team themes?
Hi, so im the captain of my high school's dance team and every year we have a theme. along wiht the theme it has a saying. so in theprevious years weve had Dancers Rock: rockstar stuff Were one spot above the rest:cheetah spots Dance the night away:stars, and other things in the sky etc... SO i had some ideas(shake it till the moon becomes the sun-paradise/mardi gra) (A girl shoulb be two things; classy and fabulous-hollywood) i also thought about enchanted, hakuna matata, and yeah. so can yall think of any ideas and or sayings to go with them? Thank you soooooooooo much!!:)
Jungle Theme High School Dance?
Find something with earthy colors, such as brown and dark green. I've seen these lyrical/contemporary dresses that are mid-thigh length, and are somewhat shredded towards the bottom and then you can wear arm and leg tape, on one arm and one leg. Maybe add a few leaves or stringy pieces that just look like you're wild and from the jungle. Maybe even a headpiece that resembles a leaf or something.
If you were going to translate the Maldives' "sea of stars" into a high school dance theme, how would you manage the decorations?
For this theme, it seems to mainly be about lighting. I would use black pipe & drape to create the dark aspect and then would add sheer drape over the heavier layer with blue string lights underneath it. The lights would be the peanut butter and jelly in a sandwich, if you will. This will create a luminescent look for your Maldives 'Sea of Stars' for the dance. I would get a ton of stars to string to the ceiling that would hang down for the stars part of it.
High School Dance Ideas and themes?
our Sophmore class is going to be putting on a dance in a couple of months for our school to raise money for our senior trip in 2009, well the last dance that the seniors put on was lame and it lost them money so we want to make ours really good for people to come...we have a VERY small school though with about 150 kids and about 50 usually come....so we decided to have people mix it up and invite friends from many others schools. we have $1,365 in our account so we want to spend as little as possible for this dance and earn more. we are thinking about hireing a DJ and selling food and everything. but the thing is we need to decided on a GOOD Theme we can do and decorate it like that with as little money as possible and have ppl dress up for it like if it was Hollywood theme come all fancy and everything. we also need ideas that we can do to make it more fun such as black lights...or dance/music games! any ideas at all for a good dance and theme. any suggestions at all please?!?!

Good Junior High school dance themes?
Glow in the dark. Everyone wear bright/glow in the dark clothes. Sell glow stick at the dance so you can make some extra money. It's really fun.
What are high school dances like today?
I know this question is a bit old but I have a slightly different view on this and wanted to share. Normal school dances at the school are declining in number at my school, and I haven't been to one since grade 7, but I know the people who organize it always decorate very well, and a decent number of people show up. We have themes, like beach party or black and white, and if people dress according to the theme, they get a ticket discount. HOWEVER, we have one big dance open to gr9+ which is our semi formal (the gr12 formal is only open to gr12s and their dates) and that is a BIG event held at a different venue every year, sometimes a club, sometimes a cool event venue. I go, and it's fun, even for an introvert like myself. Dressing up before and doing makeup all with your friends once a year is fun, and going to some cool venue makes you feel really special. The music is very loud and your hearing is lost for a bit afterwards, but if the songs are good and everyone sings along, that, and bouncing to the music, is already fun by itself. True, there isn't much real "dancing" but some people have good moves (cheering people on in dance circles is part of the excitement), and otherwise, losing yourself in the music is a good experience. There isn't much "grinding" either; most of the "dancing" is jumping up and down to the music while in a circle facing your friends and acting out the lyrics. When you're tired, the food is good, and there's usually some section of the venue that is slightly separate from the dance floor where you can sit and just talk to friends. There's usually only 1 or 2 slow dances, because the vast majority of people don't go with dates, but during those, forming circles and swaying back and forth with your friends is the best. The energy is just really different from normal life, and if you allow yourself to be carried away with the excitement of the crowd, you can really enjoy yourself. I wouldn't go if it was a monthly thing or even quarterly thing, but it being an annual thing makes it special.
