High School Diploma Or Ged

Do you have a high school diploma or a GED?

I have a GED. As for MUNYA.... I hope you rot in hell for passing judgment that way. Yes, I made a God awful mistake quitting school, just couldn't handle the "clicks". When I went to take my GED at age 25, the administrator warned us that there would only be about a 15% pass rate. The test is extremely hard. He also informed us that people just coming out of high school can't even pass the test. Yes, getting my GED may have made me a quitter, but I did see the error in my judgment and for the most part, I think I am just a good an employee as a college graduate. I have great work ethics, a strong desire to succeed, and am a very fast learner. I hope I never encounter someone like MUNYA who is so judge mental about people that have made past mistakes, as I feel certain that she has never made any!!!

Can you get both your ged and your high school diploma?

Okay I know it sounds crazy but its not believe me
I'm making up my HS credits at a School for adults

I am now 23 and I work for BOEING As a Head engineer and I'm planning on becoming a proffesor at usc next year and teach physics.I am very proud of my success and all of this started with a simple GED.

How different is a GED from a high school diploma? Is a GED inferior for getting to college?

A GED is technically equivalent to a high school diploma. The GED actually started 70 years ago and was given to military service men who were returning from the war. It gave them the chance to earn a high school credential and have the opportunity to get a college degree or find a better job.Fast forward to 2017, I think what’s important here are your reasons for taking the GED. If you’re apply to a university or a job, you might get asked why you took the GED instead of completing high school. The important part here is to frame your answers positively. Show your focus and determination to earn a college degree or get a better job, despite of what you have been through. If you decide to the GED, aim for getting a GED® College Ready: 165 – 174 or GED® College Ready + Credit: 175 – 200 score. If you decide to take the test, get to know the GED test coverage and focus on your weak areas. Take GED practice tests as well as online classes. This will increase your chance of passing all the four subjects covered by the GED test. You can also join a GED study community to connect and get support from educators and other test-takers.

Do you need a high school diploma or G.E.D. to get into a union?

I suspect it depends on the union.

There's a nursing union, and you'd have to have degrees to be a nurse.

I suspect that most unions wouldn't want unqualified members, so again, it would depend on the field.

Is it a big difference between GED and High School Diploma?

GED:
+ Pretty easy/quick test
+ Equivalent to a High School Diploma
+ Easily accepted into community college
+/- Depending on what university you plan on going to, they will accept you if you have high enough ACT/SAT scores
- People are associated with the stigma of being lazy/incompetent dropouts
- Can be a hassle when searching for a job (even though hirers aren't suppose to be biased or prejudice)

High School Diploma:
+ Valued more highly than a GED
+ You aren't a quitter

Stick with a high school diploma. Even adults can enroll, if they wish, in an adult school to get a diploma because it's valued more highly. High school is lame, I know. The other students may be mean or the classes may be boring, but at least you won't have to face the prejudice of having a GED.
If it is available to you, take some of your courses online that way you'll get credits faster & be eligible to graduate earlier than your peers.
