Hobby Related Question Right Here

How do you answer hobby questions in interviews if you do not have any serious hobby?

Excellent question! :)I am sure 50% of the readers do not have a serious hobby here.When an HR person or a B-school interviewer asks you this question, they just want to know if you have a life outside work/studies. So try to be truthful. Craft a clever answer which can throw light on your dedication.You can go for a safe reply. Here’s a possible answer to ensure that there are NO FURTHER QUESTIONS on this topic :P“I love jogging, and try to cover 5 to 8 kms daily in the morning. My personal goal is to cover 10 kms or more daily. I am actually trying to become a marathoner. That is because I recently discovered my love for running and I thoroughly enjoy the adrenaline rush that takes over my body after a run. Being a pocket friendly cardio, running saves my gym money and also keeps me charged up all day long! I have participated in some half marathons. Last year, I took part in the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon but I had to stop at 10 kms, total distance to be covered was approximately 21 kms. I wasn’t fully prepared. This year, I am determined to complete the entire marathon. So you can count jogging and running as my one and only hobby.”You can also go for a complex reply. Here’s a possible answer (especially for Indian ladies, as I am a trained classical dancer myself) to ensure that AGAIN, there are NO FURTHER QUESTIONS on this topic :D“I love dancing. Yes, you can say that dancing is my hobby. I am actually a trained ODISSI classical dancer. I have cleared my Prarambhik and Sangeet Parichaya exams. I am not carrying those certificates right now, but I can furnish them later. But its not possible to practice Odissi daily, hence I have joined Zumba classes last month. My instructor told me that Zumba is a combination of Latin and International music. But I feel that it is a fun workout, where I get to dance daily for an hour!”A hobby need not be a serious one. If you love doing something regularly, something as simple as tending to plants or driving or even cooking (basically inventing your own recipes), feel free to openly talk about them. As long as your hobby is exclusive to you, nobody can cross question you too much!Please feel free to share more answers. :D

If your hobby is poem writing then what questions would arise in an interview?

Thanx for the request. This is something that happened to me in my first campus placement interview.Now this is the time when every engineering college student gets on their toes, preparing for aptitude exams, getting advices from seniors, faculties and family members on how to make their resumes look different and the most important prep practice begins with how to perform in the interview. Apart from the technical interview, students get anxious about the HR rounds where they will judge you on the basis of your body language, hobbies and interpersonal communication skills. It is during those prep practice times, one realizes that how difficult it is to answer the question, ‘Please tell us something about yourself. ’. You know that the next questions will surely be based on the answer you give. I too was in a similar situation.Scene: Placement DayI gathered all my armors, got through the aptitude and technical rounds and was waiting for the HR round. And then, my name was called.Scene: HR RoundHim : Good afternoon. Please take your seat.I greeted back and sat across him.Him : Please show me your resume.I handed him my resume. He was firm and assertive. His lips didn't twitch even for a split second. I was a bit nervous. And then came the most awaited question,Him : Please tell me something about yourself.I did my part. He asked me a few questions regarding my academic and extra curriculars. At every point, he tried to counter me but I maintained my confidence throughout. I saw him typing something on his laptop. And then came the most unexpected thing,Him : Recite a poem written by you.At that moment, I regretted mentioning Writing poems in the hobby section. I had mentioned my blog too. Why? Why?Me : Sir, I don't write poems frequently. I had written the last one a few months back and I don't remember the exact lines. (Of course, I don't remember the lines of the poems. Poems come spontaneously. You don't learn by heart them. And reciting a poem, I had never done that before! )Him : Even I write poems. It's not possible. You gotta recite a poem.I was losing my confidence.Me : Ok. I will. I will go with the recent one but I am not sure if it will be the exact lines.I recited the poem somehow. It would have been the worst poetry recitation he had ever heard! I was totally embarrassed with myself.Result : I got selected !

What type of questions can be asked if I will say my hobby is cooking or singing song?

Thanks Riya for A2A, A good interviewer would not focus too much on your hobbies, unless you have mentioned in your resume or have shared during your initial introduction. There might be a 1 or 2 simple questions like why you like cooking or singing, which food you cook best, who is your favorite singer and why, what type of music you like to listen, what's your favorite dish. My suggestion is to keep the hobby answers very short and not too specific. Like simply say I like to listen all type of songs nothing specific, or i love cooking but nothing special just normal day lunch and dinner. This will stop interviewer from asking further questions. You never know the interviewer might be a master in music or cooking so there can be counter questions.

Maths Questions: Need help desperately due tomoz?

2 cm = 20 mm

Consider the triangle which is obtained this way: drop a perpendicular line to the linger parallel line from the point where sloping edge intersect shorter parallel line: the base of obtained triange is a residual of two parallel sides (length = 48mm - 32 mm = 16mm)
Now we have right-angled triangle (because we made a perpendicular to its base line). Its hypotenuse is slopping egge of trapezoid and its catheti are height of trapezoid and its base. We now the length of hypotenuse and base, so we can find its height and hence the height of trapezoid. To fing the height of tapezoid we chold use the Pythagores theorem because the triangle we aere considering is right-angled:
height = sqrt(hypotenuse^2 - cathetus^2) = sqrt(20^2 - 16^2) = sqrt(144) = 12 mm
So the area of trapezoid is half-sum of length of parallel lines multiplied on height:
S = (32 + 48)/2*12 = 480 sq.mm

What should we write as hobbies in resume?

+20 Best Examples of Hobbies & Interests to Put on a Resume (5 Tips) — this is the guide you are looking for.The hobbies section is probably the most contested part of the resume. In my experience, candidates really want to get it right. Recruiters, on the other hand, don't really seem to pay attention to it.Talking about hobbies on your resume probably makes most sense if you want to show your cultural fit. If you're applying for, say, a trendy young company, talking about hobbies might be appropriate — if they reflect something the company does or advocates. Plus, hobbies can be a conversation starter.In most cases, however, they will be ignored. (Unless they stand out as weird or inappropriate.)My advice would be:Avoid listing generic hobbies like watching movies, meeting friends, reading books. It's like saying you breathe air.Be specific, but not too specific. Saying you travel is fine, but it would seem more interesting if you hitchhike and coushsurf.Expand the hobbies section to include interests, too. This will let you mention things that might be more job-relevant and "abstract."Don't use this section to shamelessly talk about things that are too job-relevant. E.g., if you're applying for the position of data scientist, reading books about data science is kind of implied. Mentioning your love of books about DS as a hobby looks naive.Mention hobbies if you know for a fact that the hiring manager will read your resume and can relate to one of your hobbies. Who knows, this might just appeal to them enough to spark their interest.In the end, don't complicate things. The hobbies and interests section is optional. If you can't tell if adding it will benefit you, feel free to leave it off.Also, some hobbies and interests could actually be moved to more relevant sections.Not a full-time coder but you love coding? Put it in your skills section.Love learning foreign languages? Skills section/languages subsection.Photography? Skills section.Just remember — you should only list these if they’re required or would prove a good “bonus feature.”Plus, if you've attended conferences, did a few projects, volunteered, and did non-profit work — mention these in more appropriate "other sections." They will carry way more weight there.Check out our guide for inspiration if you are considering signaling cultural fit.
