Homeless High School Senior

Im homeless in high school?

So I'm not homeless now. But I'm 17 and just finished my junior year of high school. I have divorced parents and live with my dad. Suddenly he's dating this new woman and decides at the end of summer he's gonna move into a new house with her. I turn 18 in July. I got held back in my previous years. I'm supposed to be a senior.
I asked my mom if I could move in with her and she dosent want me to because she says I'm messy.

What did I do to deserve this? I understand I'm 18, but I'm still in high school. My parents allowed me to get held back. I have no friends or relatives who talk to me, so i have no place to move in to. Who abandons their children for a girl? I hate him and I hate my life. He also won't take me to the doctor or dentist or to get my eyes examined. Idk what to do. I wish I was dead. Or actually had a good life with family who cared.

Ideas for a High School Senior Project.?

I need some ideas for a senior project. I was thinking about something involving a charity like a toy drive or help for the needy or homeless. My other idea was doing it on a horse related topic, but I have no past experience about horses (which is the point for the project, you have to learn along the way). I Anyone have any ideas or examples on how to approach these ideas, what type of people to contact? I'm stumped...

Question about homelessness for senior project?

I chose to do my senior project on homelessness. However, my teacher told the class we need a question about our topic to do the project on.. I thought of a few general ones like "Why do people end up homeless?" or "How do homeless people survive?", but I would like to work on a question that's not so common.. Any suggestions?

I m 18 and Homeless could use advice?

I m 18 and will be a senior in high school. I have a job but just got kicked out of my house. My family doesn t want to contact me and I have nowhere else to go. Can t I receive help? I work a minimum wage job and live in a small town and want to stay local. Please if any of you could give me proper advice it would go a long way.

Help for homeless 18 year old?

I got kicked from home. I'm a senior in highschool and I have no job. I'm staying with my friend for a week, but no longer than that. I don't know what to do or who else to call; because I really don't have anyone else. This sucks because I have major anxiety and depression and it's just too much right now and killing myself would be an easy solution(I'm too much of a coward though.) I just don't know what to do anymore. Is there anyway to get goverment help? I live in Texas. Please, help me.

High School Senior Project ideas on child abuse, fast food, the homeless, or photography?

I would start with finding a mentor who will work with you. Then everything else will fall in place. If you don't know anyone who will and are starting from scratch, your best bet will probably be finding some one to mentor you who works with the homeless.

Working in the area of child abuse brings up problems of confidentiality. Of course, if you know someone doing that work or if you could become a big brother / sister, that could work.

It would be hard to volunteer or do community service in fast food.

Photography would also be harder to find a mentor or do community service. If you want to try, you might want to try a newspaper photographer who would work with you on a historic restoration or revitalization or other project of significance.

Once you have found your mentor and a place for community service, start your research. Come up with your question. Ask what difference would it make in ___ if ____ is done.

Use pretests or statistical info to measure how things are now. This is something you can find in statistics for your area in public records or something you can count. If you are working with children, you could use their grades, school attendance and discipline record, etc. With homeless, you could do something with percent of the group that has been homeless for what period of time or an attitude survey of the homeless or of the people who work with them or the neighbors.

Your project should begin with measuring something as is, applying some act, and then measuring again to see what difference the act made.

Getting that good mentor is most important. You might also ask your teachers to show you examples of good projects former students did. But don't copy too much! This is your thing!

Be aware that this is the kind of thing that can change your life--and the lives of others!

Go for it!
You can even make up your own test of opinions (for example,

I'm 18, homeless, unemployed, lonely, and I'm currently in my senior year of high school. What should I do?

I am also 18, homeless, and about to go into my senior year of high school. I know getting and keeping a job sounds hard while being homeless, it is, but it will solve a lot of your problems. For the first 6 months of being homeless, I didn’t dare get a job because being homeless is already a full time job by itself. Plus, add school on top of everything, I had no idea on how I would manage everything. Thankfully, it’s summer now, so this is a great time to get a job and have that be your main priority for a month or two before school starts. Look, I was often lonely until I got a job. My coworkers definitely solved that lonely problem once I became good friends with most of them.If you are still not going to get a job, then become friends with the employees at the local McDonald’s, gas stations, and restaurants. You know how a lot of restaurants have regular customers that everyone knows, become one of those. You will eventually become good friends with them, which will hopefully make you less lonely by getting to talk to them everyday. You could get free food from them and possibly a job. I relied a lot on my social skills during the first 6 months of being homeless. I am homeschooled and I have been social enough to make friends with the local employees and eventually get free food, so you definitely can!
