Is it proper to say, "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY?

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!

There is no love, like a mother's love,
no stronger bond on earth...
like the precious bond that comes from God,
to a mother, when she gives birth.

A mother's love is forever strong,
never changing for all time...
and when her children need her most,
a mother's love will shine.

God bless these special mothers,
God bless them every one...
for all the tears and heartache,
and for the special work they've done.

When her days on earth are over,
a mother's love lives on...
through many generations,
with God's blessings on each one.

Be thankful for our mothers,
for they love with a higher love...
from the power God has given,
and the strength from up above.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

THINK MOMMY
BE MOMMY

Namaste

Peace and Love

Is “I hope to one day be a mother as great as you are” grammatically correct?

Although native speakers often disagree about ‘rules’, it is easier for learners to stick to the basic advice: So, in this sentence you should avoid the split infinitive ‘to one day be’.You also need an indirect article (a) for your comparison:You are great/I hope to be as great as you are.You are a great mother/I hope to be as great a mother as you are.So your sentence should look like this:I hope one day to be as great a mother as you are.

Mothers day?? my mom died?

I'm 14 and my mom died 4 months. Next week is mothers day and I don't even have a mom. Its not fair. All my friends are talking about what they're getting for their mom. I can't get anything for my mom. My school choir is having a program for everyones mom and giving them a rose and I don't even have a mom to give one to give one to. I don't wanna go but its a grade. Then at church there's another ceremony. I'm really emotional and I can't stop crying. My mom has been gone for only for 4 months. What am I supposed to do for my mom? How can I give her a gift? How am I supposed to celebrate mothers day if I don't even have a mom?

Why do people wish their parents mother's day, father's day on Facebook and other social media, rather than just calling them directly or best seeing them in person? Is it to use this opportunity to gather some likes or there is some sane reason which I am not able to understand?

As usual, my day started with my phone in my hands. I started going through my social media accounts. Instagram and Facebook, and sundries. It's indeed the era of social media and it hasn't failed in entrapping us in its clutches. Hence, I was going through all of my pending notifications and statuses. Going through all of them made me realise that it was mother's day. There were pictures of my friends and relatives with their mothers. Some laughing, some playing, and some throwback pictures. The captions ranged from "my love", "my everything" to "my mom is the best mom in the world"As I was busy going through my phone, I heard my mom saying ''Subah subah shuru ho gaya tera mobile. Pehle mobile rakh aur hath muh dhole.'', and I couldn't help but smile, wondering that even though these people have posted so many pictures with their moms, have anyone of them thought of letting their mothers rest for a day and doing all her work themselves? A holiday is something that she never gets, but deserves far more than us.Posting pictures on social medias is easy. But no one will think of doing all her work instead. They'd rather post pictures with their moms to show the world how much they love her. The irony is that most mothers aren't even on the social media that they posted on.I feel like instead of showing the world your love for your mother with fancy captions and beautiful photos of your beautiful mothers, do something that would show your mother you love for her. Start by spending some quality time with her. Even that would be a great gift for her. It's a flow of the river and the social media celebrities just provide a boost to it. The trend continues. It's like blindly following the crowd, disregarding the path it's taking. So this Mother's day, I filled some bottles with water and kept them in the fridge before wishing the celebrity of the day a happy mother's day. And no emojis can do justice to the smile I got from her.I'm not criticising anyone, but I'm not supporting this trend either. This is the generation that craves for likes and comments, that provide them with instant gratification and validation. This gratification is extremely addictive, and they start spending more time in the virtual world than the real world day by day.One can only hope that this vicious cycle would finally see its end one day.Editing credits :Pranali ShikhareOmkar Kiwlekar

Is it correct to say "I hope you have a good day"? Is there a better phrasing?

It's fine, but nobody says that, however it will be understood.Americans say "Have a nice day" - because they can't help feeling the need to demonstrate that they are nice, polite people (which they are of course). The British smile, and raise their eyebrows - which means "OK, please go away now". If you don't get the message, we might verbalise it as tarra, bye, see you later then, well I have places to go and things to do, close the door on your way out won't you!Try to avoid using "have a nice day" or "I hope you have a good/nice day" here in the UK.  We will probably not think good things about you. We will either think you are being sarcastic, or you are just moving your mouth for the sake of it. Some things are best left unsaid.  Of course, if you are a foreigner, we would probably realise you actually mean it (Americans included of course!).

Why do we celebrate mother's day?

Well I dont' know why everyone celebrates Mothers Day but here is a few reasons I think
1.They are caring and supportive
2.How many people do you know that work a 8 hr day..and at the same time our plannning thier other job at home that take up the other 16 hrs.doing laundry cooking cleaning, and being there to kiss every boo boo and then try to find the time to bathe be beautiful for her husband do all the school and sport outings. And the one that every mother hates is trying to keep your child with a positive outlook when he or she is being bullied or don't dress as well as the other kids or when your daughter has to deal with you all know thought Mean Girls....But you tell them that they are beautiful and have love in their hearts.
3.A father to celebrate mother's day..I think is the same as celebrating father's day..We can't do it alone..It is something only a man and women can completely do as one..It is blessing in life..It connects and man and a women in a way nothing else can. When that bundle of joy is born you look into his or her eyes and when you look at your spouse or whoever helped you it is a connection that last a life time..
4. Now as a daughter why I celebrate Mother's Day may be different for everyone But for me it's because no matter where I have been in life no matter what disicions I have made in life this women stood by me..She lifted me up as a bady in the crib when I cried she lifted me up when I was a toddler when I got a boo boo. When I was a teenager and that boy I just thought I loved she lifted me up and said honey their will be one true love for you this is just a piece of your life that you learn and take it with you for the real love..When I found that real love she was their to help fight back my nerves and get me down the ailse and I as cried with joy she cried with me and wiped my tears..When I went to have my first child of course MoM was their she cried with me she smiled with me and she loved me..
And now I know that all thoughs times she stood by me and disiplined me it was so when I became a Mother my children would celebrate mother's day for the same reason as I do...All for Unconditional Love..I believe you only meet a few people in life that give you unconditional love God Moms and Dads and your Children...God Bless you and I hope this helps...

Dear Senior Citizens, "hope is a mother of fools"?

My dad had a saying: "God helps those who help themselves." And I've heard "Even God can't steer a parked car." What about "Hope in one hand and defecate in the other and see which one fills first"?

People who think "hope" is a value have no value themselves (they're fools) and expect some kind of outside force to make their miserable lives better.

The only thing that "hope" ever accomplished is getting a socialist in the seat of the American Presidency on a campaign promise of "Hope and Change", but that should be more a reflection of how pathetic the "hopeful" fools that expected a politician to make their lives better and put him into office than the merits of "hope". Most are still hoping, and the only change that has taken place is that things have gotten a lot worse.

So basically the phrase means those who hope will accomplish nothing worthwhile.
