Horrible Toothache Any Help

Toothache help?

My mom has a very bad toothache and I'm trying to figure out what she should use. I went to Walgreens and they didn't have Orajel PM(20% Benzocaine). I read through all the products and came home with Anbesol Maximum Strength(20% Benzocaine) and a product called Red Cross Toothache which is 85% Eugenol(clove oil). Has any one ever used these? Which one is better till she can get to the dentist on Monday. Does she need to wait if one doesn't work before applying the other? Thanks to all who reply.

HORRIBLE Toothache!?

I am having a rediculous tooth ache. I think it is my wisdom tooth, which never came all the way in-but I don't remember exactly what that was like because I got it a while ago. My gums around it are swollen, and it is painful just by itself-the pain is radiating from my jaw underneath it all the way to the roof of my mouth and including half of my throat-but when I try to swallow anything (even just my own spit!) it is so excruciating that it makes me want to cry! Do you think it is my wisdom tooth? How can I make it feel better? Is it worrysome enough for an ER visit? [I should mention that I am 17 weeks pregnant, so meds are out, and that my dental plan only covers ONE dental check up per year, which I had about 9 months ago.] Any help is appreciated! =)

My little sister has a horrible toothache?!?

At about midnight, my sister was lying in bed while I was talking to friends online, and she started complaining about her tooth hurting. I told her that maybe it was going to fall out because it's happened to me before. She said that it has a filling in it. Now, at 12:26 am, she is crying in pain as her tooth starts to hurt more and more. My dad is asleep. We would wake him up but he has to wake up for work in like 5 hours. And he sleeps with my step-mom and my step-brother and I don't want to wake them up to. She wants ME to do something! Is there anything I can do or put on it to make it ease the pain? Help!

HORRIBLE toothache: No Dental Insurance, what to do?

My tooth has been hurting for a while now. I have no dental or medical insurance. I'm currently unemployed, but have been looking for my first job since April. Not even McDonald's is hiring around here. I'm in extreme pain, and can hardly eat. When I do it hurts and food gets stuck up in there. My tooth and the gums around it, and the whole left side of my face hurts. It's a top tooth, towards the back. The last time I was at the dentist he said I had 6 cavity's that needed the fillings fixed, but I lost insurance before I could go back.

My dentist will not take a payment plan. I called around, and my best bet is the community action clinic, but even with sliding scale fees I'll have to pay around $100 for the initial x-rays and exam. It'll be early November before I will have that. Not to mention I'll then have to pay to get it actually fixed, and I'll be lucky to afford that by early December.

Is there ANYTHING I could do in the meantime?

I am ALLERGIC to aspirin, Motrin, ibuprofen, so I can't take that for pain or swelling.
I'm also allergic to codeine. So I have to be extremely careful what I take. Aspirin sends me to the ER from allergic reaction if I take it.
So I have only regular extra strength Tylenol. Is there anything else (over the counter without any form of aspirin or in the slightest related to codeine) to be recommended?

I've tried orajel (it hardly works), heating pad on my face, soft foods, keeping it clean, mouth wash, regular toothpaste...I've tried floss/tooth picks but I'm afraid of breaking the tooth.

Any kind advice would be much appreciated.

No insurance, Rotted tooth, horrible toothache, what to do?

Call Western Dental Center or wherever it was that filled to tooth.. then do this exactly ..
...tell then "The filling that you guys put in my tooth fell out"
they will ask how long ago...tell them "right after he did it" ..then say .." I just kept thinking maybe the pain would go away....but it's getting worse...can I please just come in and let him look at this tooth.."
If you say those things exactly like I've written them...you should be given appointment for a look. Once you get there and he "looks" he will have all kinds of ideas about what needs to be done with your teeth. At this point ask the dentist "can we pay for that in payments like every 2 weeks?"
He will probably say that something can be worked out with the girls at the desk.
NOW..1.you made the phone call..2.you got the appointment..
3. you skirted around the money thing "I just want him to look at this tooth.."
4. you get to the dentist
5. he looks at you tooth and can't help but see all the others..
6. he will arrange to re-fill the one with the missing filling....he may even do that right then.
7. when he talks about the other problems with your teeth. say to him ..."we don't have very much money...can we pay you every 2 weeks?"
8. Hopefully he will be o.k. with that and say "You can work out something with the girls at the desk. sooooo...

9. YOU have your tooth fixed!!
10..YOU have a PLAN!!!

you just have to approach the situation for what it is..they put the filling in...it fell out.
good luck!!! ♥

I have a horrible toothache from a chipped tooth, would midrin pills help? It's for migrains.?

I can't get in to see my dentist until Monday morning, and this pain is so bad I can't eat or sleep.
This is the only pain medicine I have, could it help some with the pain?

13 weeks pregnant, horrible toothache, no dental insurance.. Any suggestions?

There are over-the-counter pain meds and toothache numbing substances you can purchase and use, but personally - when this happens to me - I use organic CLOVE OIL. Rub this directly on the painful area(s). This may burn a bit at first but soon it will numb (or at least greatly lessen) the pain.

FYI: You can find clove oil at most any health food store.
