Suspenseful/ plot twist movies?
I really love suspense movies that have some kind of plot twist, unexpected endings etc. and im trying to find some good ones to watch on a rainy day. I have some specifications though: No horror/slasher films. Nothing with any torture scenes. No war movies. No boxing movies. I dont care if its rated R as long as every other word isn't the F word... I know thats kind of a lot of things to avoid but if your up to the challenge please suggest away! Oh and ive already seen Usual Suspects, Sixth Sense, and Arlington Road...all of which were excellent.
Good Short Stories, Suspense and Mystery?
The Sherlock Holmes stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle are great, and there are a billion pastiches of SH out there too. One of my favorite collections is "The Improbable Adventures of Sherlock Holmes," edited by John Joseph Adams. Some of the stories in that one can be read online. If you want something a little more modern, you can go to the library and pick up a "Year's Best" compilation of mysteries.
What are your recommendations for books in the horror, suspense, and/or paranormal genres?
These are adult reads, not children’s books, but you might check out Updrift (book 1) and its sequel, Breakwater (book 2). Outrush (book 3) debuts Spring 2019.

Any good thriller/horror anime recommendations?
Just name a few thriller/horror anime. Anything with a good bit of suspense. Also, please try and avoid listing anything with insanely high amounts of fan service, ecchi, etc. unless it's a really, really good series.
Is this a good plot for an amateur horror film?
Well, I didn't understand if you were talking about how your plot is good : well-written, punchy, exciting and well-structured or if you were asking if it would make a good amateur horror film. ...SO i'm gonna answer both.1/ The plot needs to be more :- straight forward. I suppose "centuries later" could be replaced by "nowadays".- minimalist to build mystery : you don't need the last sentece IMO2/ When it is about horror stories, of course, all the kind of scenarios have been already made. Only a few new and original concepts have been created these past years : torture porn (Saw series), Human Centipede, horror movies based on the web/internet topic.Your story is quite classical which is not a bad thing. I think your best shot is to really understand the rules of the genre of haunted house/city and then try to rethink them in a more modern way.3/About the title, the trend is to use short movie name, but in your case, because sounds old, you could choose something longer.

What are some atmospheric, gloomy, and grotesque, horror movies, with intriguing plots?
I personally really liked Drag Me to Hell, and think it has a lot more to it than meets the eye, so I'm not sure how to avoid giving you a suggestion that you might not like. But, from your list of things that you enjoyed, it appears that you are willing to go off the beaten path to find a gem, and it also seems that you are able to handle it when a movie is clearly "dated" , so I'll try to make suggestions that meet that need. As always, YMMV: Rosemary's BabyMartinTexas Chainsaw Massacre (1976)I Walked With a ZombieNight of the Demon Night of the Living DeadCarnival of SoulsFreaksWake in FrightChildren Shouldn't Play With Dead Things2000 ManiacsLe DiaboliquesExperiment in TerrorThe Abominable Doctor PhibesThe Naked PreyEyes Without a Face I would take a look at trailers for each of these, and see if you think any of these are up your alley.
