Does at&t allow web hosting on its residential dsl plans? I currently have the basic 768k product.?
AT&T has contracts with Yahoo to handle a lot of their web hosting as well as email. This started several years ago when Southwestern Bell Company became SBC and its Internet division called SBC Global got with Yahoo to handle the residential portals for their DSL lines. SBC later bought AT&T. The president of SBC then changed the name of SBC to AT&T. I looked at "http://my.att.net" and saw on the left side list a button for "Web Hosting" and clicked on it. On the next page on the right hand side I saw : "Sign in to your AT&T Yahoo! account:" and clicked on the button labeled "Geocities" and got this link: http://geocities.att.yahoo.com/ And the top of the page says: Get a free web site with GeoCities Free. In other words, you can host a website free on the Yahoo/Geocities servers but they do not want you using your account DSL and home computer as a server for web hosting. AT&T is considering charging people who make heavy use of residential DSL line pay more for the enormous amount of data these people are transmitting over the AT&T network. In other words, the people who leave their computers on constantly to run torrents are using as much network capacity as a business would, and so AT&T just might start charging higher fees to them. You might consider the freebie website hosting to get an idea as to how much traffic you are going to see before using your computers at home to do hosting. That 768k line isn't fast enough to handle a dozen of users at the same time. Offsetting that is the loss of control of the information you put on the freebie website host, and advertising they might put on your web pages.

Sell or Develop, parking will get you few cents per month per domain; not worth it anymore. I have hundreds of domains parked and one average developed domain name weekly revenue can beat yearly revenue of all parked domain. Why does my Wordpress GoDaddy-hosted site go to a blank page?
I have never used GoDaddy's hosting service, but I did work in tech support (and later managed the team) at a shared hosting company in Atlanta in the past. So I've seen some blank pages in my day. Some possible reasons:Gzip compression is enabled, but the /tmp directory is full (meaning the webpage output can't compress and stops before sending back to browser. This typically happened to all customers on the server, rather than a single customer. An opcode cache (eAccelerator, APC, etc) is in use, but a script in Wordpress is not suitable for caching. I remember this being a problem with a customer's Wordpress site and eAccelerator. Ultimately, we (the staff) added an exception to the .ini file to explicitly not cache files on his site. You might be hitting PHP's memory_limit; that is, your Wordpress site plus plugins create executable code that is too large to fit in the allotted memory space. Godaddy may have specified a lower setting than you need. Godaddy might be running suhosin or some other PHP security extension that might be blocking the execution of a script. However, you said you were "turning off" the PHP process, which means it's being restarted the next time you access your site. So this is not likely the problem, as it should block the PHP script all the time.A plugin or custom PHP script you're using has a bug in it that is causing it to not execute properly, and a PHP setting on the server is preventing an error from being displayed.Ultimately, you'll need access to the error logs or any error messages that may be logged on the server. If you don't have access to the logs for your site, then you'll have to ask GoDaddy tech support for information. If the error is because of the memory_limit setting and GoDaddy won't adjust it for you, then you may need to either disable plugins in order to fit within the limits or consider a different level of service, such as a VPS or dedicated server. Similarly, gzip compression and opcode caches are all server-wide settings, so you won't have any control over them either. You may also decide to go with a different service provider if GoDaddy can't accommodate you, or is unable to assist you with the necessary error information to track down the problem.
