How Are Iraqi Christian Women

My sister had a female fellow (name undisclosed) at her academy who was a Christian. My sister always used to tell us and younger girls about her even after she completed her 4-year education at the academy. My sister says she used to wear burkah while other fellow Muslims used to revoke the ruling. She used to stay quiet during Azan while Muslim fellows used to gossip even in that short span of time. She used to act modestly while Muslim females used to act provocatively. She used to deal in matters honestly and humbly while others used to deal with dishonesty. So, yes it depends upon, how sincere you are and how you take the commandments of God and the urge to sacrifice for God.MashaALLAH, she knows that she is living her life to please the God and NOT the creation of God.Dr Ruth Fow, She was an amazing lady.Even you will be quite surprised by hearing that the churches in Pakistan are closer to the true Christianity as compared to the European Christianity. They condemn homosexuality. They condemn sodomy and oral sex. They do not allow to sex outside marriage. They do not allow males and females together, even in the church they sit separately.Male and female can’t touch one another. Most of the musical instruments and patterns are considered satanic and sinful.Males are respected and required to produce bread and butter for the families. They believe that both are equal but are assigned different duties by God.They condemn Atheism and believe in living life by following the 10 commandments at least.

Not by law, and a veil (meaning somenthing that covers the face, is quite unusual. Most muslim women do wear a scarf in public. A non muslim woman may chose to wear a scarf to avoid her muslim acquaitances feel uncomfortable.Undoubtely in many parts of Iraq, having the hair and often the neck covered is a kind of social obligation for a muslim woman. Not wearing it, is easily tolerated for non muslim women. In areas were the popolation is of mixed religions (muslim, christian, yazidi) an uncovered women is simply assumed as belonging to a non muslim religion. This especially applies to the Iraqi Kurdistan region, but also to parts of the Ninawa province (Mosul). Many kurdish women (muslim), do not cover their heads when wearing their traditional clothes (for exemple on Nawroz celebration). In the main cities of Kurdistan is not unusual to see groups of women (family, colleagues or friends group) wearing a mix of anything from western style clothes (jeans and shirt for example) and no scarf to very conservative clothes and a hijab. None of them seems to be embarassed by the others.

Are Iraqi Curds Christians????

I have heard that Curds were Christians also. But the media doesn't mention that. The media mostly mention Sunni & Shiites.

Also, the Iraqi Christian exodus from sunni & Shiites strongholds. Because of the horrors done to them. A Pastors head was cut off. A 14 yr old boy crucified for sharing his faith. Christian women had acid thrown on their faces because of going to church. But the media tries to avoid mentioning Christians. So on the news they said Iraqis & some Christians. Also, that some had to return to where they came from. The exodus is to Asyria or Syria & 1000s of Christians are fleeing.

If jokes are said, that is nothing compared to the cruelty that is happening right now.

I like to add that also that more churches have been built in Iraq lately. Because of new constitutional freedoms. I guess some Muslims are threatened to increase Christian persecution.

American women dating Arab man. Help?

I'm 20 years old and live in America.
About a year and a half ago I met my boyfriend. He's a Christian male from Iraq. When I met him he had only been in America for 5 months. At first it was just talking, then we had sex. Then began dating and having sex like rabbits. Although after like 6 months he started getting controlling. He doesn't want me to drink, smoke, or talk to men. He also calmed down the sex saying it's "no good for god" to the point where we have sex like once a week now. He got me a job with him (and all his Iraqi friends I'm the only American) so we work together and we live in the same apartment complex. He lives with his family and I live alone. He sleeps here almost every single night even though his parents fight with him everyday for it and threaten to kick him out. I've met his parents. His dad dislikes me but his mom always makes efforts to talk to me and He also has three brothers who I am extremely close with and text and hangout with regularly.

I always hear Arab men use American women and hardly ever marry them. I ask him about marriage and he says he needs money first. Which is hard because he has two jobs and pays all his parents bills. He always makes up plans in his head to leave his family but gets scared. He tells me just wait for him and always says he wishes he came to America alone.

I wonder if I'm wasting my time with him. I'm so deeply in love with him.. We have been through so much.

I'm also Shia and from Iran. A country with similarities to Iraq(also had war with Iraq!). The most important matter you should consider is the marriage itself.Marriage does not look like being together like gf/bf relationship.First I should ask you to think about yourself, why you are a Catholic Christian but you are not serious about it?After marrying a Muslim(Shia or others) first thing you see is he is praying five times a day. Is it acceptable for you? Is it a reasonable thing for you?Muslims should not drink bear and they can't eat everything. I want to say that there is new restriction for you. Think about these restrictions, then if they were reasonable for you become a Muslim, marry him. Otherwise become ready for a new life with lots of problem. You have another option, tell him we cannot become a couple because our roots are in different grounds.(End the relationship)We all live once so then have a good life.(I also welcome any question you might have from a Shia)

Love between Iraqi Guy and American Girl... Need your advice?

This is an impossible relationship. So many cultural and religous differences to overcome. You sound very young, you need to finish your education and do your part to help rebuild your country.

Even if you are an Iraqi Christian, your form of Christianity is so very different from the MANY forms of Christianity practiced in the US.

If you are Muslim, would she convert? Would your family accept a non-Muslim for a daughter-in-law? Would she submit to the many restrictions placed on her by your cultural and religious standards?

Would you convert to an American form of Christianity?

Would YOU feel comfortable with a modern western woman?

Find a nice Iraqi girl to court and marry.

I know it is so very romantic to carry on a VERY long distance relationship with a girl from a farawy and exotic land. And she probabbly feels the same. You are exotic for a girl from Ohio.

If you want to visit in the USA wait until you are at university and come as an exchange student. You'll meet many American women then.
